Abstract

Background: Uterine myoma is a benign gynecological tumor which is commonly occurred in women. The incidence of uterine myoma in the world is 20–35% while in Indonesia is about 2.4–11.7%. Age, parity, and body mass index are correlated with the incidence of uterine myoma. This study aimed to determine the relationship among those factors towards uterine myoma, and to identify the prognostic value of body mass index in order to prevent uterine myoma.Methods: A case-control study was conducted to examine 394 medical records of patients with uterine myoma at Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology Dr. Hasan Sadikin General Hospital Bandung from 2006 to 2011.  The case group were 133 and the control group were 261. The data were the subject’s weight, height, age, and parity. The correlation among all variable and the occurrence of uterine myomas were conducted using multiple logistic regression analysis.Results: There was no different range of age between the two groups. The incidence rate ratio of parity was 2.254 (95% confidence interval:1.310–3.876), followed by body mass index>33.0 incidence rate ratio was 1.691 (95% confidence interval: 0.477–5.994). From the receiver operating characteristic curve, it could be seen that the cut-off points for body mass index was 20.44 kg/m², and the risk of uterine myomas scaled up as the increase of body mass index.Conclusions: Parity and BMI can affect the risk of uterine myomas. To prevent the incident of uterine myomas, parity must be limited and BMI must be below the cut-off points (20.44 kg/m²). DOI: 10.15850/amj.v2n3.485

Abstract

This research is motivated by the development of children's language, especially in letter recognition. Language development requires more optimal guidance because as a child's capital to enter elementary school education. Therefore this study aims to improve the ability to recognize the language of letters applied using Think Pair Share (TPS) learning models assisted by letter card media in the TK Kartika VII-3 Singaraja B3 group in 2018/2019. The type of research used was Classroom Action Research (CAR) which was carried out in two cycles, the subject of research was the TK Kartika Singaraja VII-3 Singaraja B3 group, which consisted of 27 children, consisting of 9 girls and 18 boys. The object of research is the child's language ability to recognize letters. Data collection in this study was conducted with observation media. The analytical method used is descriptive statistical analysis method and quantitative descriptive analysis method. The results of data analysis in this study indicate that an average increase in the percentage of language ability to recognize letters in the B3 group is 25.7%. This can be seen from the increase in the average percentage of the ability of the language to recognize child letters in the first cycle of 55.31% with low criteria being 81.01% in cycle II with high criteria. Thus, it can be concluded that the application of Think Pair Share (TPS) learning models assisted by letter card media can improve the ability of the language to recognize the letters of the children of B3 TK Kartika Singaraja group in the first semester of 2018/2019

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui pengaruh intervensi menulis ekspresif pada penurunan tingkat kecenderungan self injury pada mahasiswa. Subjek dalam penelitian ini adalah mahasiswa pada rentang usia 18-23 tahun yang pernah melakukan self injury setidaknya 5 kali dalam setahun terakhir. Metode yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah metode pre-experimental design berbentuk one group pre-test and post-test design. Partisipan dalam penelitian ini terdiri dari 5 mahasiswa di Kota Makassar. Data dikumpulkan melalui skala self injury yang disusun oleh peneliti dan diberikan sebelum dan setelah pemberian intervensi. Hasil analisis Wilcoxon Matched Pairs menunjukkan nilai signifikansi sebesar 0.043 (p<0.05), dengan penurunan rata-rata skor self injury sebesar 74,6 menjadi 46,4, sehingga dapat disimpulkan ada pengaruh penerapan intervensi menulis ekspresif terhadap penurunan tingkat kecenderungan self injury pada mahasiswa. Hasil penelitian ini dapat memberikan alternatif bagi mahasiswa untuk mengurangi karakeristik-karakteristik perilaku self injury sehingga diharapkan intervensi ini secara tidak langsung mengurangi tingkat kecenderungan self injury pada mahasiswa.

Abstract

Apel pagi merupakan kegiatan rutin di sekolah yang memiliki peran strategis dalam membentuk kedisiplinan dan meningkatkan semangat belajar siswa. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis bagaimana apel pagi di SMK Diponegoro berkontribusi dalam membangun karakter disiplin siswa serta mengidentifikasi tantangan yang dihadapi dalam implementasinya. Metode yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah pendekatan kualitatif dengan teknik wawancara, observasi, dan studi literatur. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa apel pagi berperan dalam membentuk kebiasaan positif seperti ketepatan waktu, keteraturan, dan tanggung jawab individu. Selain itu, melalui penyampaian pesan inspiratif oleh guru dan kepala sekolah, siswa mendapatkan dorongan motivasi yang berdampak pada kesiapan mereka dalam mengikuti proses belajar-mengajar. Namun, masih terdapat beberapa kendala dalam pelaksanaannya, seperti kurangnya kesadaran sebagian siswa terhadap pentingnya apel pagi dan rendahnya keterlibatan mereka dalam kegiatan ini. Untuk meningkatkan efektivitas apel pagi, sekolah telah menerapkan berbagai strategi inovatif, seperti variasi kegiatan, penghargaan bagi siswa yang disiplin, serta keterlibatan orang tua dalam memastikan anak-anak mereka datang tepat waktu. Dengan demikian, apel pagi diharapkan tidak hanya menjadi rutinitas sekolah, tetapi juga berkontribusi secara signifikan dalam membentuk karakter siswa yang lebih disiplin, bertanggung jawab, dan siap menghadapi tantangan akademik maupun kehidupan sehari-hari.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan menggambarkan jenis-jenis perilaku verbal bullying di SDN 628 Sumabu Kabupaten Luwu, menilai tingkat kecerdasan intrapersonal siswa, mengevaluasi dampak bullying terhadap kecerdasan intrapersonal, serta mengidentifikasi upaya sekolah dalam penanganannya. Menggunakan pendekatan kualitatif deskriptif, data dikumpulkan melalui observasi partisipan, wawancara mendalam dengan guru, siswa, dan orang tua, serta studi dokumentasi, kemudian dianalisis melalui reduksi, penyajian, dan penarikan kesimpulan. Hasil menunjukkan bahwa verbal bullying meliputi ejekan, julukan merendahkan, sindiran, dan penyebaran kabar bohong saat bermain, berselisih, atau bersaing, tanpa unsur SARA atau pelecehan seksual; tingkat kecerdasan intrapersonal siswa umumnya cukup baik, dengan kemampuan mengelola emosi dan kesadaran diri meski sebagian masih memerlukan bimbingan; bullying berdampak negatif terhadap kepercayaan diri, pengelolaan emosi, dan interaksi sosial; serta upaya sekolah meliputi konseling, penyuluhan rutin, pembinaan pelaku, dan pelibatan orang tua, menunjukkan pendekatan humanis, preventif, dan edukatif untuk menciptakan lingkungan sekolah aman dan suportif.

Abstract

This study aims to determine whether the learning outcomes of science can be improved through the Inquiry learning model in fourth-grade students of SDN 4 Limboto. The method used in this study is the classroom action research (CAR) method. This research was conducted at SDN 4 Limboto in fourth-grade students. The object of this study is the application of the think pair share learning method in improving the learning outcomes of science students on the material of forces around us in fourth-grade SDN 4 Limboto. The subjects of this study were fourth-grade students of SDN 4 Limboto. Data collection techniques in this study were observation and tests. Based on the data analysis and learning process in the previous chapter, the researcher can conclude that learning using the inquiry learning model can improve the quality of science lessons on the material of forces around us in fourth-grade SDN 4 Limboto. Student learning outcomes before the application of the inquiry learning model had not reached the KKTP. After the application of the inquiry learning model, student learning outcomes increased, as can be seen in the increase in completeness in the pre-cycle from 35%, increasing in cycle 1 to 55%, and in cycle II increasing to 80%. Thus, student learning outcomes and analysis of observation sheets improved in a better direction with the application of the inquiry learning model.
