Abstract

Abstract

Anemia is a common nutritional problem among adolescent girls, primarily due to iron deficiency, which can affect physical growth, academic performance, and daily productivity. This study aimed to examine the relationship between knowledge, attitude, behavior, and nutritional status with the incidence of anemia among adolescent girls at Madrasah Tsanawiyah Nurul Iman Pomalaa. A cross-sectional study was conducted with 146 female students selected through purposive sampling. Data collection included questionnaires, anthropometric measurements for Body Mass Index (BMI), and hemoglobin (Hb) level testing. The results showed no statistically significant associations between knowledge (p = 0.756), attitude (p = 1.000), behavior (p = 0.246), and nutritional status (p = 0.493) with anemia incidence. However, all odds ratios were greater than 1, suggesting a descriptive tendency toward increased anemia risk among participants with poor knowledge, negative attitudes, unhealthy behaviors, or abnormal nutritional status. These findings emphasize the importance of preventive efforts through school- and family-based health education, especially regarding iron-rich dietary intake and compliance with iron supplementation. Further research is recommended to include other contributing factors such as menstruation patterns, psychological stress, and physical activity to better understand the multifactorial nature of anemia in adolescents.

The activity method was carried out by interactive counseling using PowerPoint media displayed through an LCD projector and conducted in the school hall on 19 November 2024, attended by 70 students from classes VII to IX. The material was delivered in an engaging manner and was complemented by discussion sessions. The results of the activity showed an increase in student enthusiasm and participation, as well as an awareness to start bringing drinking water to school and reduce the consumption of sugary drinks. This activity proved effective in fostering students' understanding of the importance of adequate hydration for health. The students expressed a greater willingness to incorporate healthier habits, particularly bringing water to school and making informed choices about hydration. Moreover, they became more aware of the negative impacts of sugary drinks. Abstract

Children under two years old (Baduta) are vulnerable to nutritional problems due to their rapid growth and development phase. Supplementary feeding (PMT) using locally sourced foods is an effort that can support adequate nutritional intake during this period. This community service activity aimed to increase mothers' knowledge regarding the importance of PMT and the introduction of nutritious local food ingredients that are easily accessible. The activity was conducted in Lawata Village, Kolaka Utara Regency, involving 30 mothers with Baduta. The method used was educational counseling and interactive discussion covering the definition, benefits, timing of supplementary feeding, and examples of local nutritious foods such as fish, eggs, tempeh, legumes, vegetables, and tubers. The results showed an improvement in participants' understanding of appropriate supplementary feeding practices. Mothers also expressed willingness to apply the knowledge gained in daily feeding practices at home. This program is expected to increase family awareness of balanced nutrition and encourage the use of local food sources to support optimal child growth and nutritional status improvement.

Abstract

Nursing care documentation based on the Indonesian Nursing Diagnosis Standards (SDKI), Indonesian Nursing Outcome Standards (SLKI), and Indonesian Nursing Intervention Standards (SIKI) plays a crucial role in ensuring quality and patient safety. This study aimed to examine the relationship between nurses’ knowledge of SDKI, SLKI, and SIKI and the implementation of nursing care documentation at Benyamin Guluh Kolaka Hospital. A descriptive analytic design with a cross-sectional approach was employed. A total of 53 nurses were selected using purposive sampling. Data were collected through a knowledge questionnaire and a nursing care documentation questionnaire. Data analysis consisted of univariate and bivariate analyses using Spearman’s Rho test. The results indicated that most nurses had good levels of knowledge and nursing documentation performance. However, statistical analysis revealed no significant relationship between nurses’ knowledge and nursing care documentation (p = 0.503; r = −0.094). This study concludes that nursing documentation quality is not solely determined by knowledge but is also influenced by other factors in nursing practice.
