Abstract

The scientific importance of Indonesia's Islamic banks' state is the focus of this study using a strategy based on the Risk-based Bank Rating technique. This quantitative descriptive research analyzes the health of Indonesia's Islamic commercial banks, namely Bank Syariah Indonesia and Bank Muamalat Indonesia, for the years 2019 to 2022, focusing on the degree of bank health as measured by the RBBR approach. The study's data analysis leads to the conclusion that Bank Syariah Indonesia's overall condition is represented by a Composite Rank 2 (PK-2) of 85% in 2019, meaning that it is deemed "Healthy" and capable of withstanding significant negative influences from changes in business conditions and other external factors. However Bank Muamalat Indonesia's overall composite rating (PK3), or "Healthy Enough," corresponds to the bank's evaluation of its health level from 2019 to 2022 using the Risk-based Bank Rating method, which includes indicators of Risk Profile, Good Corporate Governance, Earnings (Rentability), and Capital as a whole.

Abstract

Purpose — This study investigates the relationship between commercial and social activities in Indonesian Islamic banks.Method — This study employed a Panel Vector Error Correction Model (PVAR) model with Impulse Response Function (I.R.F), Variance Decomposition (V.D.C), and Granger Causality. Observations were conducted from 2010 to 2020 on eight Islamic banks in Indonesia, representing 72.72 percent of the total Islamic banking population in Indonesia. The collecting of data pertains to the yearly financial report. Social activities are based on the amount of zakat fund distribution (ZKT) and benevolence fund distribution (DKB). Commercial activities are based on Islamic banking financial ratios that are proxied by Return on Assets (ROA), Financing to Deposit Ratio (FDR), and Non-Performing Financing (NPF).Result — The results showed that social activities in Indonesian Islamic banks are influenced by their commercial activities, but it does not apply vice versa. In other words, there is a one-way relationship between commercial and social activities in Indonesian Islamic banks.Contribution — This study contributes by studying the relationship between commercial and social activities by using the PVAR model with the analysis of Impulse Response Function (I.R.F), Variance Decomposition (V.D.C), and Granger Causality which so far have not been explored.

Abstract

The Covid-19 pandemic has had an impact on various sectors including the economy. In the Islamic capital market with corporate sukuk instruments, it shows an increase in the total outstanding value of 42%, while in Islamic Commercial Banks it shows an increase in ROA of 0.12%, both of which recorded growth. Supposedly, as an institution looking for investors the relationship they have is negative. On the other hand, the inflation rate in Indonesia during the pandemic has also increased quite high. So this study aims to examine the effect of corporate sukuk and inflation on the ROA of Islamic Commercial Banks during the Covid-19 pandemic. This research is a quantitative study using samples from January 2020-December 2022 with the help of e-views 12 software. Based on the results of the analysis, only corporate sukuk have a significant positive effect on Return on Assets of Islamic Commercial Banks, while inflation is not significant. Simultaneously, both have a significant positive effect on the Return on Assets (RO) of Islamic Commercial Banks. So for Islamic Commercial Banks it is necessary to pay attention to the existence of corporate sukuk and the inflation rate because it has an impact on ROA which will ultimately have an impact on the performance of the banking itself.

Abstract

The impact of financial globalization and the laissez-faire impact on prudential industry and Islamic finance businesses to maintain shariah compliance aspects as a means of fraud prevention and possible risks in the real sector. The challenge innovation of financial products has to do with adjusting the benefits, as well as the dynamics of the global economy. It’s applied to prove that Islamic values can exist in the business competition, trade in the modern era of globalization and to maintain sustainability business of Islamic banking in Indonesia. Compliance functions as actions and measures, both are preventive to ensure the policies, rules, systems and procedures, the business activities carried out by the Islamic Bank. That end, the Islamic Bank shall understand all the provisions of laws and regulations, so the responsibility of each individual from the board of directors to the lowest employee ranks of bank. Likewise, the Islamic banking product innovation refers to the sharia standards and sharia governance, based on the international standards, compliance the integrity and quality of human resources Islamic banking, contract compliance and not hurt people as consumers. This is important, if Islamic banks can not maintain Islamic values in the global business and financial competition, it means that Islamic values are not appropriate and irrelevant the times.

Abstract

Indonesia has significant potential for distributing zakat, which can effectively address issues such as poverty and inequality in the nation. The ratio of ZIS funds received and disbursed by BAZNAS RI serves as the dependent variable in this analysis, which utilizes secondary data from January 2017 to December 2021, illustrating the quantitative approach employed in this investigation. Macroeconomic variables that affect economic growth, such as GDP, interest rates, inflation, poverty, and total money in circulation (JUB), are the independent variables. This study utilized multiple linear regression analysis with the Least Squares (LS) methodology. The classical assumption test consists of many linear regression tests such as Multicollinearity, Autocorrelation, Heteroscedasticity, Normality, and Linearity. The amount of Money in Circulation (JUB) that decreases the poverty rate, and the effect of decreasing the unemployment rate in Indonesia are the findings of the study that will affect the feasibility of channeling ZIS funds in Indonesia. Therefore, it can be concluded that changes in the quantity of GDP, interest rates, and inflation will not affect the receipt or distribution of ZIS funds in Indonesia.
