Abstract

Scabies is a skin disease where this disease is included in the environment-based disease. In Indonesia, scabies is commonly referred to as scabies or budukan. Scabies is a skin disease caused by parasites. Scabies is caused by mites or tiny ticks of the species Sarcoptes scabiei hominis. Factors that contribute to the spread of scabies include an unhealthy environment, limited clean water, and poor personal hygiene. This study aims to determine the relationship between personal hygiene and environmental sanitation with the incidence of scabies in the work area of the Salawu Health Center. This study uses a case control design. Data analysis in this study used the chi square test with a total sample of 144 including 48 case samples and 96 control samples. The results showed that there was a significant relationship between personal hygiene, namely skin hygiene, hand, foot and nail hygiene, hair hygiene, and genital hygiene with a value (p=0.000) and the incidence of scabies. The results showed that there was a relationship between ventilation (p=0.003), lighting (p=0.001), and the physical quality of clean water (p=0.002) with the incidence of scabies. Advised to people maintain good personal hygiene and maintain environmental sanitation. For health service workers, it is hoped that they can provide counseling to the surrounding community regarding material regarding scabies and how to prevent it.

Abstract

This community service program aims to raise awareness among residents of RW 04 Dusun Cigadung, Desa Karyamukti, about proper waste management. Through the waste bank program, the community is encouraged to sort and recycle inorganic waste, turning it into an economic asset. The methods used include participatory dialogue, socialization, training, and partnerships with the Central Waste Bank. The results indicate an increase in community understanding of waste management, the establishment of a waste bank management structure, and active participation of residents in collecting and weighing waste. This program is expected to be sustainable and serve as a solution to reduce environmental pollution while improving community welfare.

Abstract

Keberadaan pemulung sebenarnya memiliki kontribusi positif terhadap pengurangan sampah melalui proses pemilahan material daur ulang. Namun demikian, aktivitas pemilahan sampah di lokasi TPA memiliki risiko yang tinggi terhadap aspek keselamatan dan kesehatan kerja (K3). Tahapan kegiatan pengabdian Masyarakat ini dimulai dari perencanaan, pelaksanaan dan evaluasi. Perencanaan terdiri dari koordinasi, perizinan dan menyiapkan peralatan penunjang dan penyiapan materi edukasi. Pelakasanaan kegiatan ini berupa ceramah dan diskusi aktif dengan bantuan power point dan poster. Evlauasi kegiatan ini dilihat dari nilai pre-test dan post-test serta wawancara beberapa peserta terkait tanggapan kegiatan. Dari hasil kegiatan ini dengan metode yang digunakan terbukti dapat meningkatkan pengetahuan peserta (p-value = 0,001). Dari hasil wawancara juga menunjukan peseta bersikap sangat positi dan antusian terhadap kegiatan ini. Kegiatan selanjutnya adalah menargetkan semua para pemulung yang ada di TPA serta kegiatan yang berkeleanjutan berkaitan dengan keselamatan dan kesehatan pemulung dan pelestarian lingkungan sekitar.
