Abstract

The research aims to examine the role of Islamic matchmaking applications—Taaruf ID, Salams, and Hawaya—in promoting Islamic marriage ethics and serving as a medium for digital da’wah. The rapid development of digital technology has transformed various aspects of human life, including how Muslims approach marriage. This study explores how these platforms align with the Islamic principles of ta’aruf while integrating modern technological advancements. Using a qualitative approach, the research analyzes user experiences, platform features, and Islamic ethical frameworks to assess the extent to which these applications facilitate halal relationships. Findings indicate that these apps offer an alternative to conventional matchmaking methods while maintaining Islamic values. However, challenges such as commercialization, user authenticity, and religious adherence persist. This study contributes to discussions on digital ta’aruf, the intersection of technology and religion, and the evolving landscape of Muslim courtship in the digital era.   REFERENCES Abdullah, Najwa. “2025/7 ‘The Hijrah Phenomenon: Shifting Urban Muslim Identities in Indonesia’ by Najwa Abdullah,” 2025. https://www.iseas.edu.sg/category/articles-commentaries/page/146/articles-commentaries/iseas-perspective/page/2/. Abstract

This study explores the development of pedagogical models in Islamic Religious Education (PAI) that harmoniously integrate spiritual grounding, contextual adaptability, and technological enhancement in the Society 5.0 era. Employing a mixed-methods approach, it combines philosophical analysis from classical Islamic scholars (Al-Ghazali, Ibn Khaldun) and modern educational theorists (Vygotsky, Fullan) with Design-Based Research (DBR) for instructional development. The research is conducted in three stages: (1) conceptualizing the core attributes of Religious Education 5.0, (2) designing adaptive learning modules incorporating blended learning, digital storytelling, and interfaith dialogue, and (3) evaluating their pedagogical impact through qualitative case studies and thematic analysis. The findings reveal notable improvements in student engagement, the internalization of Islamic values, and the development of interreligious empathy. The study presents a validated, transformative PAI model that is spiritually grounded, contextually relevant, and technologically responsive, contributing to the advancement of religious education in the digital era.

Abstract

In the age of artificial intelligence (AI), digital security policies have evolved rapidly, intensifying concerns over surveillance, data control, and state authority. This study examines the relevance of Michel Foucault’s theoretical framework—particularly his concepts of power, biopolitics, and governmentality—in analyzing the structures and implications of contemporary digital security regimes. The widespread adoption of AI technologies in national security initiatives—such as facial recognition, predictive policing, and mass data surveillance—demonstrates a shift in mechanisms of control aligned with Foucault’s notions of disciplinary societies and panopticism. The research aims to critically assess how digital security policies operationalize power through AI, reshaping the dynamics between the state and its citizens. Using a qualitative methodology, the study applies critical discourse analysis to official policy documents, national regulations, and strategic frameworks from selected countries, supported by scholarly and media sources. Findings reveal that such policies often normalize intrusive surveillance practices under the guise of public safety and technological progress, reinforcing asymmetric power relations and challenging democratic accountability. The analysis highlights how algorithmic governance embeds power within technological systems, enabling new forms of control and oversight. Ultimately, the study concludes that applying a Foucauldian lens provides vital insights into the socio-political logics of AI-driven security. It underscores the urgency for transparent, accountable, and rights-based approaches to digital governance in an increasingly automated world.

Abstract

This study examines the role of the philosophy of time in physics education, with particular focus on its implications for teaching relativity and quantum mechanics. Time is a fundamental yet perplexing concept in both theories, often posing challenges for educators and learners due to its abstract and counterintuitive nature. To address this, the research explores how philosophical perspectives on time can inform and improve teaching practices. A qualitative approach was employed, consisting of a systematic literature review of both philosophy of physics and physics education research, combined with a textual and pedagogical analysis of existing teaching strategies used in relativity and quantum mechanics instruction. Sources included peer-reviewed journals, educational frameworks, and documented classroom practices. Data were organized and coded using NVivo software to identify recurring themes in how philosophical engagement with time has been integrated into teaching. The findings indicate that incorporating structured philosophical discussions—such as debates on the nature of simultaneity or the problem of temporal measurement in quantum mechanics—can clarify conceptual paradoxes and provide students with alternative interpretive frameworks. Evidence of improved comprehension was drawn from reported student reflections, documented learning outcomes, and thematic patterns in prior classroom-based studies, rather than self-reported claims alone. Furthermore, the integration of philosophy was shown to foster critical thinking, operationalized here as students’ ability to question assumptions, articulate multiple interpretations, and resolve conceptual tensions in physics discourse. The study concludes that systematically embedding the philosophy of time into the physics curriculum can significantly enhance comprehension of relativistic and quantum principles, refine teaching methodologies, and cultivate a more reflective and critical learning environment.

Abstract

This study delves into the philosophical insights of Muhammad Iqbal regarding the interaction between humanity, moderation, and technology in the digital age. Iqbal’s concept of khudi (selfhood) and his ethical framework provide a valuable lens for exploring contemporary challenges related to digital identity formation, the ethical implications of artificial intelligence, and technology integration into modern society. Using a qualitative research approach, this study employs textual analysis of Iqbal’s original writings and contemporary interpretations to address how his philosophy can inform ethical digital practices. Through thematic analysis and philosophical hermeneutics, the research reveals three primary insights: the transformative nature of technology on self-awareness, the ethical dilemmas arising from technological advancements, and the necessity of balancing technology with human values such as moderation and equality. The findings underscore the relevance of Iqbal’s thoughts in guiding individuals and societies toward responsible and ethical digital interactions. Ultimately, this research contributes to the growing discourse on digital ethics by offering a comprehensive framework grounded in Iqbal’s enduring philosophical principles. Future research prospects are proposed to integrate Iqbal’s teachings into practical applications for promoting digital moderation, equity, and ethical responsibility.

Abstract

Community service through Student Community Service (KKN) in Margasari Village, Purwakarta, aims to empower the community through religious, educational, and socio-cultural approaches. This study identified several challenges in the village, including low levels of education, lack of awareness of environmental cleanliness, and declining spirit of mutual cooperation. An analysis of village conditions shows that most of the population works as farmers or factory workers. The long distance to high school is a barrier for some teenagers to continue their education. In addition, the presence of a final disposal site (TPA) in the village also affects the quality of the environment and public health. To overcome these problems, the community service program focuses on improving the quality of life of the community through various activities. These activities include religious education for youth, increasing awareness of the importance of education, and strengthening socio-cultural values such as mutual cooperation. The results of this program are an increase in the quality of human resources in Margasari Village, the realization of a clean and healthy environment, and the resurgence of the spirit of mutual cooperation in the community. Through an integrated approach between religion, education, and socio-culture, it is expected that this community empowerment program can make a significant contribution to village development.
