Abstract

Background: This article analyzes the factors that affect brand equity in the search for brand value in the new visual logo Solo city, which functions as part of city branding. Purpose: The purpose of this study is to present four factors of brand equity. These four factors are what determine the search process, namely brand awareness, brand association, perceived quality, and brand loyalty and their implementation of the new visual logo of the city based on the perceptions put forward by residents of Solo could act as a parameter for measuring the effect value of the new logo as part of city branding process of Solo city. Methods: This research uses quantitative methods based on a questionnaire with 120 respondents; the test results were carried out using the Cronbach Alpha method (SPSS). by Brand Loyalty factors, marketing results, and brand awareness. Conclusion: This study also shows that there are significant differences in the results of the assessment, namely, the Brand Value factor, as thefactor that has the most influence in between supporting elements of the city of Solo, such as the municipal government, stakeholders, and residents. Implications: The results in the conclusion of model hypothesis testing show that variables of H1 to H6 are accepted. The results of this study form the basis of delivering recommendations and have implications of using logos as promotions and contributing to increasing the brand image of Solo.

Abstract

Kegiatan Pengabdian Kepada Masyarakat (PKM) grup riset DKV Media Interaktif dilaksanakan bersama mitra Yayasan Tumpi Indonesia di desa Pentur, Boyolali, Jawa Tengah yang dilaksanakan pada 19 Mei 2023 yang beranggotakan dari unsur dosen, mahasiswa dari Program Studi Diploma Tiga Desain Komunikasi Visual Sekolah Vokasi UNS. Metode pengabdian yang di gunakan adalah pelatihan kepada mitra Yayasan Tumpi Indonesia. Yayasan Tumpi Indonesia merupakan yayasan nirlaba yang bertujuan untuk meningkatkan potensi di wilayah Desa Pentur. Peserta pelatihan dan workshop fotografi berjumlah 20 orang pelaku UMKM dengan berbagai jenis usaha yang berbeda di bawah binaan Yayasan Tumpi Indoneisa. Kegiatan pengabdian masyarakat memiliki beberapa tahapan, 1) Perencanaan, 2) Observasi, 3) Pelaksanaan kegiatan pelatihan, dan 4) Evaluasi kegiatan pelatihan. Peserta diberikan pelatihan terkait teknik memotret produk UMKM di dalam ruang (mini studio) dan di luar ruangan dengan menggunakan kamera DSLR dan smart phone. Dari hasil pelatihan peserta memahami dan mengerti cara mengatur pencahayaan baik di dalam ruangan (studio) maupun di luar ruangan, mampu memilih posisi (angle) yang menarik dan teknik penggunaan camera sehingga dapat menghasilkan foto produk menarik. Hasil evaluasi dari tim penilai menunjukkan bahwa foto produk yang dihasilkan sangat baik dan layak sebagai konten media promosi produk UMKM. Kegiatan pelatihan memberikan dampak positif kepada pelaku UMKM dan peserta kegiatan memberikan penilian sangat puas kepada Tim PKM DKV Media Interaktif.

Abstract

Bada Valley in Central Sulawesi is a megalithic site rich in cultural heritage, one of which is the Loga Statue. This statue holds a historical and symbolic value that is intriguing to analyze through the semiotics of texts to understand its embedded meanings. This study aims to analyze the visual and symbolic signs of the Loga Statue using the semiotic approaches of Peirce and Barthes. The analysis seeks to identify how icons, indices, and symbols on the statue represent the cultural and spiritual aspects of the society that created it. The research employs a qualitative approach with descriptive analysis. Data collection is conducted through direct observation, documentation, and relevant literature studies. The data is then analyzed using semiotic methods to reveal the denotative, connotative, and mythological meanings embedded in the statue. The findings indicate that the Loga Statue possesses symbolic representations related to the animistic-dynamistic beliefs of prehistoric communities. The form and carvings on the statue contain spiritual meanings that reflect the close relationship between humans and the supernatural world. Additionally, the visual patterns on the statue suggest a visual communication system used by past societies to express their cultural values.

Abstract

This activity aims to increase ginger herbal medicine business in Surakarta and Sukoharjo through: improvement of the quality and quantity of production, improvement of business management, and improvement of business financial bookkeeping. Partners of this activity are SMEs of herbal ginger "Mahkota" and "Wahyu". Methods of implementation activities include business training and mentoring. Activity period is the first half of 2015. Based on these activities can be concluded that: (1) the business of herbal ginger instant "Mahkota" and "Wahyu" have received and used production mechines that has been provided by the team to improve the quantity and quality of instant ginger herbal products; (2) the businessmen of ginger herbal instant "Mahkota" and "Wahyu" have got the knowledge about the importance of product packaging to attract customers and maintain the quality of products; and (3) the businessmen of herbal ginger instant "Mahkota" and "Wahyu" have got the knowledge of recording financial transactions in a simple business bookkeeping and understand its benefits

Abstract

In today's digital world, online media significantly shapes our perception of cultural and religious sites. For example, the Saka Tunggal Mosque. The Saka Tunggal Mosque, one of Indonesia's oldest mosques, is a prime example. The digital sphere has profoundly influenced its image. This study delves into the unique digital narrative surrounding the Saka Tunggal Mosque, employing a Media Discourse Analysis approach. Using a descriptive qualitative methodology, we will analyze data from social media, news websites, and Islamic blogs, all through the lens of Norman Fairclough's Critical Discourse Analysis in 3 stages: Text Analysis (Description), Discursive Practice (Interpretation), Social Practice (Explanation). We aim to understand how this unique digital narrative is created and shared. The findings of this study reveal that digital media weaves narratives that highlight religious tourism, heritage preservation, and Islamic spirituality, thereby influencing public perception of the Saka Tunggal Mosque. However, there are challenges, such as the risk of historical inaccuracy due to the spread of unverified information and the potential loss of the authentic meaning of the mosque amidst the commercialization of tourism. Ultimately, this study explains how digital media acts as a bridge in shaping the identity of a religious place and suggests ways to improve digital communication strategies to maintain its historical meaning.

Abstract

Desa Beruk di Kecamatan Jatiyoso, Kabupaten Karanganyar, terdapat potensi wisata alam berupa aliran sungai Kali Jlantah yang dimanfaatkan destinasi wisata tubing yang diberi nama Tubing Muslim 06. Untuk meningkatkan promosi destinasi wisata Tubing Muslim 06 diperlukan pelatihan produksi dan editing video berbasis Android dengan menggunakan aplikasi CapCut serta pemanfaatan TikTok Affiliate. Pelatihan tersebut menggunakan metode Participatory Action Research (PAR) yang berorientasi pada pemberdayaan masyarakat dan bertujuan untuk memberdayakan pengelola wisata dalam menciptakan konten kreatif dan efektif, sehingga dapat meningkatkan daya tarik wisatawan dan meningkatkanpendapatan komunitas secara ekonomi. Melalui rangkaian solusi tersebut, diharapkan mitra dapat meningkatkan keterampilan digital mereka dalam produksi video promosi, memanfaatkan TikTok Affiliate sebagai sumber pendapatan tambahan, serta mengembangkan strategi pemasaran digital yang efektif. Dengan implementasi yang tepat, wisata tubing di Desa Beruk dapat semakin dikenal dan menarik lebih banyak wisatawan, sehingga berkontribusi terhadap pertumbuhan ekonomi lokal.Beruk Village in Jatiyoso District, Karanganyar Regency, has natural tourism potential in the form of the Kali Jlantah river flow, which is used as a tubing tourist destination called Tubing Muslim 06. To increase the promotion of Muslim 06 Tubing tourist destinations, training in Android-based video production and editing is needed using the CapCut application and the TikTok Affiliate. The training uses the Participatory Action Research (PAR) method, which is oriented towards community empowerment and aims to empower tourism managers in creating creative and compelling content so as to increase tourist attraction and increase community income economically. Through this series of solutions, partners are expected to improve their digital skills in promotional video production, utilize TikTok Affiliate as an additional source of income, and develop effective digital marketing strategies. With proper implementation, tubing tourism in Beruk Village can be increasingly recognized and attract more tourists, thus contributing to local economic growth.
