Abstract

This research revealed the difficulties of the implementation of the 2013 Curriculum (K-13), especially in Arabic subject in Islamic Elementary Schools/ Madrasah Ibtidaiyah (MI) in Pamekasan, and the inhibiting factors. This study used qualitative research in the form of exploratory research, namely descriptive analysis. The population was all Islamic Elementary Schools (MI) in Pamekasan, and four schools were selected as samples by using purposive sampling technique. The results showed that from the aspect of designing effective and meaningful learning, as well as in organizing learning, found that MI Islamiyah I Larangan Tokol, Tlanakan did not implement K-13 and did not have Arabic subject syllabus, and so did MI As-Salafi Sumber Duko Pakong. Even, the condition found in MIN 1 Konang, Galis as one of the State Islamic Elementary Schools in Pamekasan is almost the same as the Private Madrasah, because even though they have an Arabic subject syllabus, but it was still in print out syllabus, and the file is not formally legalized by the head of Madrasah. While, in the implementation of learning, it is revealed that teachers were not able to maximize the community, environment, media, and to utilize available internet connection in the learning practice. It happened in almost all Madrasah. Also, teachers of Madrasah Ibtidaiyah in Pamekasan need more training, guidance, and self-improvement in understanding the K-13 concept wholly and comprehensively. On the other hand, Madrasah Ibtidaiyah in Pamekasan did not yet maximize the K-13 concept in term of environmental empowerment as learning resources, and even it is undiscovered the use of andragogy approach, scientific approach, and active learning that should be applied in learning Arabic in Madrasah Ibtidaiyah in Pamekasan. In general, there are three inhibiting factors which caused the difficulty in the implementation of K-13 in Madrasah Ibtidaiyah in Pamekasan; those include Madrasah and Government’s Policy, lack of qualified teachers, and inadequate facilities. As for the impacts of the difficulty of K-13 implementation for the students can be divided into two aspects: (1) the learning process, and (2) the learning outputs. Keywords: difficulties of the implementation of the 2013 Curriculum; Arabic; Madrasah Ibtidaiyah; Pamekasan regency

Abstract

Abstract. Over a rough seabed or on seabed subject to scour, freespans can occur when contact between a subsea pipeline and the seabed is lost over an acceptable distance. When this exceeds the allowable freespan length, design stresses can be exceeded, and a vortex induced vibration (VIV) response can be initiated, resulting in the risk of fatigue failure. If this is not predicted and controlled properly, it will affect pipeline integrity, leading to expensive rectification and intervention work. Freespan analysis consisted primarily of a screening check in which the as-found freespans from Remotely Operated Vehicle (ROV) or multibeam Side Scan Sonar (SSS) inspection survey were compared against the design allowable lengths and determine the expected fatigue life of a freespan that may be experiencing Vortex Induced Vibration (VIV). Freespans are considered acceptable if the calculated fatigue life exceeds the design life criteria. This paper describes the freespan analysis that has been developed to perform detailed freespan engineering assessments, incorporating the latest survey and as-laid conditions. This analysis follows a methodology in standard code DNVGL RP F105 that has been accepted and used by operators to produce more accurate and less conservative freespan analysis results, leading to a subsea pipeline integrity management strategy with fewer unnecessary interventions and greater cost benefits.

Abstract

This research study was motivated by several key factors. Firstly, the Arabic language holds great religious and cultural significance in Indonesia, as it is a core component of Islamic identity and practice, particularly in the context of Quranic education for children. However, many students at Quranic preschools struggle with developing proficiency in spoken Arabic. Additionally, educational literature emphasizes the critical role of student motivation in facilitating effective language learning outcomes. Therefore, it was important to investigate the factors influencing students' motivation to learn Arabic in this specific educational setting. Moreover, most prior research in this field has been conducted in non-Indonesian contexts, necessitating localized studies to explore the nuances of the Indonesian educational dynamics. Ultimately, this research aimed to help address the gaps in the existing body of knowledge around Arabic language instruction in Indonesian Quranic preschools. The researcher employed a quantitative approach and simple linear regression to analyze data collected from interviews, observations and questionnaires. Statistical tests of validity, reliability, normality, linearity and correlation were performed on the questionnaire data using SPSS. The iresults ishowed ithat iintensive Arabic classes had a significant effect on students' motivation to learn speaking skills, as idemonstrated iby ia ip-value iof iless ithan i0.05. Regression analysis further reported that these classes influenced motivation by 33.1%, as indicated by the R-squared value. Therefore, the intensive language exposure appeared to positively impact the kindergarteners' drive to develop their Arabic communication abilities.

Abstract

Background Circumcision is one of the most common surgical procedures in boys in Indonesia. In cases patient with hemophilia (PWH), doctors tend to avoid this procedure due to increased bleeding tendency. In 2007, we developed a protocol for clotting factor concentrate (CFC) administration for circumcision in SWH, namely, the “Yogyakarta Method.” Objective To evaluate the outcomes of the Yogyakarta Method for circumcising PWH. Methods This descriptive study was based on medical records of PWH who underwent circumcision at Dr. Sardjito Hospital (DSH), Yogyakarta and 3 surrounding hospitals under DSH supervision from 2008-2017 and 2018-2022. Diagnoses of hemophilia were based on clinical findings and factor assays. Subjects with hemophilia A received factor VIII (25 IU/kg/dose) and those with hemophilia B received factor IX (50 IU/kg/dose) before, during and after the procedure. In addition, patients received tranexamic acid (15 mg/kg/dose). Circumcision was performed by a pediatric surgeon or urologist. Results From 2008-2017, 28 PWH underwent circumcision, 14/28 of whom were in DSH. Twenty-six patients had hemophilia A and 2 had hemophilia B. Their severities were mild (12 subjects), moderate (10), and severe (6). Subjects’ median age was 10.5 (5-19) years and their median CFC use was 8 (range 7-10) doses in hemophilia A and 4 (range 4-5) doses in hemophilia B patients. Three of 28 PWH had bleeding episodes after the procedure. Following the encouraging results from the initial 2008-2017 study period, most of PWH circumcised in 2018-2022 underwent the procedure in the same 3 district hospitals rather than at DSH (21/28 subjects), and had similar CFC consumption. Only 1 bleeding episode occurred after the procedure during the second study period. Conclusion The Yogyakarta method is safe and sufficient to control bleeding in circumcision of PWH. This method is also suitable in a district hospital setting.

Abstract

Introduction: Community health centers known in Indonesia as Primary Health Care (PHC) serve as the primary care facilities in the country. It is the main engine for the success of providing care at the first line for the community. Accreditation is among efforts to enforce a comprehensive management function in primary care. The achievement of accreditation reflects the management cycle of the PHC; however, a number of these facilities are still struggling with achieving maximum accreditation standards. Limited attention and research support that identify PHC management function called for further investigation. Therefore, this study initiated to investigate and evaluate the primary care management cycle and its functionality through the lens of qualitative research.Method: We conducted 15 in-depth interviews and one focus group discussion (FGD) which was attended by eight participants. The setting was in five PHC in Banda Aceh, the capital city of Aceh province, Indonesia. The involved participants were individuals who had a direct role in the accreditation process.  The data was analyzed by using thematic analysis techniques.Result: There were three main themes and several subthemes derived from the analysis: (1) Work plan: integrative plan development, slow execution; (2) Leaders’ roles: Role’s awareness, work commitment. The results of this study evaluated the implementation of quality management in PHC. To some extent, there were potential obstacles for PHC hindering them from achieving optimal accreditation. Conclusion: These could create pathways for policy development or as a reference for related authorities/policymakers in developing a framework plan to assist the PHC in the implementation of the management cycle leading to plenary national acknowledgment.

Abstract

The frequent changes in government policies regarding higher education curricula pose a problem for many universities. One recent policy that has caused issues is the "MBKM" curriculum, which also influences State Islamic Religious Colleges. This study aims to reveal how the Arabic Language Teaching Department of UIN Maulana Malik Ibrahim Malang developed a semi-parallel structure by combining parallel and serial structures. A case study approach was employed, with the Arabic language teaching department of UIN Maulana Malik Ibrahim Malang as the main research subject. Data was collected through interviews and documentation. The data analysis consisted of three stages: data reduction, data presentation, and conclusion drawing. The findings revealed that the semi-parallel curriculum structure implemented by the Arabic language teaching department fulfills two curriculum standards. Firstly, it meets the demand for curriculum standardization based on the Indonesian National Qualifications Framework (KKNI) outlined in Higher Education Regulation No. 44, 2015. Secondly, the semi-parallel curriculum structure corresponds to the curriculum standards set forth by the Indonesian Arabic Teachers Association (IMLA) in 2019. So, the development of a semi-parallel curriculum structure for the Arabic Language Teaching department has proven to be following national standards, even though policies often change.
