Abstract

The low participation of academics in structured physical activity is a real challenge within the University of Lampung environment. The widespread sedentary lifestyle among students and education staff has a negative impact on health and productivity. As a response to this problem, an innovation resulting from research has been developed in the form of a Moderate version of the Unila Be Strong Creative Gymnastics, which is designed to be fun, dynamic and in line with physical activity needs in the campus environment. However, this exercise is not yet widespread because there are no internal tutors who are able to facilitate its implementation on a regular basis. This service activity aims to prepare students as gymnastics tutors who act as dissemination agents in work units, faculties and the campus community. Training includes mastery of basic gymnastic movements, group leadership skills, as well as a participatory facilitation approach. The output of the activity is increasing the competence of tutors, training modules, and the formation of a network of gymnastics practitioners within the University of Lampung. This activity is expected to be able to encourage the formation of a culture of healthy and active living, as well as strengthen the integration of research results in service to the campus community.

Abstract

This study focuses on the application of cinematography in developing creativity in educational choreography at the elementary school level. The object of the research is the dance work Trash Craft, carried out at SDN 1 Segala Mider, Bandar Lampung, involving five female students from grades V and VI. The work raises the theme Zero Waste School as a form of children’s concern for the environment, particularly the issue of plastic waste. The research process went through several stages: movement exploration, improvisation, dancer selection, dance composition, filming, editing, and evaluation. Cinematography was employed not merely as a documentation tool, but also as a creative medium to strengthen the dance’s message through camera techniques, natural lighting, and audio-visual editing. The findings show that students were able to develop creativity in movement and expression, the Trash Craft dance successfully conveyed the message of environmental awareness, and cinematography proved effective in enhancing the aesthetics of the work as well as expanding the space for dance appreciation. Technical challenges such as differences in student ability and limited sound quality were resolved through creative solutions during practice and editing. This research emphasizes the relevance of integrating cinematography into dance learning as an innovative approach that is enjoyable, contextual, and aligned with the learning style of the digital generation.

Abstract

This study aims to examine the effectiveness of a mnemonic model in improving students’ dance skills in Indonesian Dance during the extracurricular program at MAN 1 Lampung Tengah. The study employed a quantitative approach using a one-group pretest–posttest design. The research sample consisted of 32 students who actively participated in the dance extracurricular activity. Data were collected through classroom observations, dance performance tests, and assessment instruments evaluated by the teacher to measure students’ mastery of Indonesian dance movements before and after the implementation of the mnemonic model. The findings revealed a significant improvement in students’ mastery of dance movements following the treatment. Statistical analysis showed a significance value of 0.000, which was lower than 0.05, indicating that H₀ was rejected and H₁ was accepted. These results demonstrate a significant difference between students’ abilities before and after the intervention. The mean score increased from 1.73 in the pretest to 3.39 in the posttest, reflecting substantial progress in learning outcomes. The improvement suggests that the mnemonic model effectively supports students in remembering, understanding, and performing dance movements more accurately. Furthermore, the enhancement of dance skills was observed across the aspects of wiraga (movement), wirama (rhythm), and wirasa (expression). Therefore, the mnemonic model can be considered an effective learning strategy for developing students’ psychomotor abilities and improving dance performance in extracurricular dance education.
