Abstract

This research aimed to analyze the crossover learning strategy in student activeness. The researcher used descriptive qualitative method. The subject of this research was the Seventh grade studets at SMP Negeri 29 Makassar. The researcher used an observation and interviews as instruments to collect the data in this research.Based on the results of the study, the results showed that the types of formal and informal learning in students' crossover learning strategies were formal learning carried out in the classroom while informal learning was outside the classroom (done at home). The implementation of the crossover learning strategy in the learning process is very helpful in achieving the learning atmosphere desired by teachers and students connecting formal (in the classroom) and informal learning (at home) so that students are able to play an active role in the learning process, students are also required to seek more information so that the material conveyed in more detail and clearly and able to solve problems, students are also able to answer questions and discuss with their friends. In this case students are more motivated, more disciplined in learning and responsible.

Abstract

This research aims to determine the pedagogical ability of teachers in teaching English in grade II OF SMK NEGERI 4 GOWA. The subject of this study used the qualitative descriptive method. This study focused on the eleventh grade level of SMK Negeri 4 Gowa and the main subjects of this study were two English teachers of SMA NEGERI 4 GOWA. The data in this study were taken from observations and interviews. The form of checklist observation data aims to analyze the pedagogical ability of teachers in teaching English. The data from the interview is to find out the competence of the teacher in teaching.Based on the research findings, it shows that the two teachers at SMK NEGERI 4 GOWA still do not meet all the indicators contained in the seven aspects of teacher pedagogical competence.

Abstract

The purpose of this study is to identify the difficulties faced by the eighth-grade students of SMP Negeri 3 CAMBA, as well as the factors causing the students' problems understanding English reading text. This study is qualitative. The eighth-grade students of SMP Negeri 3 CAMBA were the research subjects. The data collection methods are interviews and tests. The researcher presents the data from the difficulties in understanding English reading text. The result of the research shows that there are 26.31% of students have difficulties understanding to look for the main idea of the text. Then, there are 12.86% of students have difficulties understanding the vocabulary of the text. Then, there are 8.77% of students have difficulties in understanding and making inferences from the text. Next, there are 52.04% of students have difficulties understanding to look for the detailed information in the text. The factor causing the students difficulties found in comprehending English reading text there is difficulty in understanding the meaning of words, difficulty in determining the main idea, difficulties in understanding a long sentence in the text, difficulty in understanding vocabulary, house environment, and school environment.

Abstract

SMA Negeri 2 Pangkep kelas X, siswa tidak dapat memahami materi dengan baik dan siswa mudah bosan dengan pembelajaran karena penggunan metode yang diterapkan oleh guru, yaitu penggunan metode ceramah. Hal ini yang menyebabkan siswa tidak memahami materi yang di sampaikan oleh guru. Peneliti akan meneprakan model pembelajaran Discovery Learning untuk meningkatkan keaktifan dan kempuan siswa dalam memahami pembelajaran. Peneliti menggunakan Penelitian Tindakan Kelas (PTK), dimana penelitian ini berfokus pada pengajaran guru dan perkembangan siswa mereka di dalam kelas. Pendekatan sistematis yang digunakan dalam memecahkan masalah dalam kehidupan profesional dan meningkatkan praktik kelas. Objek penelitian ini adalah kemampuan siswa dalam memahami materi melalui metode Discopery Learning di kelas X IPS SMA Negeri 2 Pangkep.Dari data yang diperoleh setelah perlakuan dapat ditunjukkan bahwa pada siklus I ada beberapa peserta didik yang belum tuntas sedangkan pada siklus II mengalami peningkatan sehingga peserta didik tuntas semua. Dengan melihat dari persentase ketuntasan belajar tersebut mengalami peningkatan.Dari hasil observasi dan evaluasi memperlihatkan bahwa terjadi peningkatan dari siklus I ke siklus II. Hal ini dibuktikan pada analisis Ulangan Harian peserta didik yakni pada siklus I persentase ketuntasan peserta didik hanya 20,00% dengan skor rata-rata 64,65. Sementara pada siklus II meningkat dengan presentasi ketuntasan peserta didik mencapai 90,00% dengan skor rata-rata 90,00.
