Abstract

This article aims to see the traditions associated with the existence of the Absolute which will give birth to a unique and distinctive ritual system in the ritual of ruwatan dreadlocks in Dieng. Perception of myths and cultural phenomena with a sublimated perspective and is an innovation for the central tradition in the Ngayogyokarto Hadiningrat Palace. There was a "movement" of the central culture that pulled over (periphery) and manifested itself into a "religious" ritual carried out by the community. The problem that arises is how the ritual tradition of ruwatan dreadlocks is interpreted as a religiosity that is not practiced in the palace, as well as what it means for the people of Dieng. Data were collected using participatory observation methods, in-depth interviews, document studies, and focus group discussions. The analysis uses techniques of deep analysis by applying the perspective rites of passage from Arnold van Gennep and Victor Turner. The result and analysis are that there is a positive compromise between the concept of holiness and more worldly concepts such as economic interests (tourism) which is a form of cultural reaggregation in Dieng. AbstractThis article aims to see the traditions associated with the existence of the Absolute which will give birth to a unique and distinctive ritual system in the ritual of ruwatan dreadlocks in Dieng. Abstract

Wealth is a fundamental aspect of human life that relates to material, spiritual, and social well-being. Islam and Confucianism hold differing views on the concept of wealth and its implications for life in this world and the hereafter. This study aims to compare the concepts of wealth in Islam and Confucianism by highlighting theological principles, the ethics of wealth management, and their impact on the lives of individuals and society. The method employed is library research using a comparative approach, through an examination of classical and contemporary literary sources from both traditions. The research findings indicate that in Islam, wealth is viewed as a trust from Allah that must be acquired lawfully, managed responsibly, and utilized for the common good, as one will be held accountable for it in the afterlife. Meanwhile, in Confucianism, wealth is closely linked to the values of virtue and social balance, serving as a means to fulfill family responsibilities, including filial piety (孝/Xiào) and respect for ancestors. These differences influence the economic behavior of their adherents: Islam emphasizes social welfare and an orientation toward the afterlife, while Confucianism emphasizes family and social harmony. Nevertheless, both reject dishonesty and greed in the management of wealth.

Abstract

As a religious phenomenon, pilgrimages have varying orientations. The diversity of orientations is determined by the level of motivation and meaning of the symbols attached to the pilgrimage. The connection between exposure and awareness of pilgrimage becomes the basis for pilgrims to interpret deeper aspects. The problem that arises later is the axiological interpretation of pilgrimage. In this reflective and theoretical study, the data was collected through in-depth reading about the pilgrimage of currently available academic literature. By applying philosophical analysis, the following article seeks to trace the most profound meaning of pilgrimage for creating positive interfaith relations. This study concludes that the most profound aspect of pilgrimage consciousness is archetypes that explain the uniformity of the spirit of pilgrimage carried out by the people of the religions. With that archetype, interfaith relations are easy to build because of the awareness of humanity and the apparent solidarity among religious adherents
