Abstract

The research objective is to determine the level of technical efficiency and the factors that influence the level of technical inefficiency, to analyze the relationship between input and output in the production process of aromatic rice farming in Seluma regency.Total number of respondents were 73 farmers who planted Aromatic rice. The Cobb Douglass of Frontier Stochastic approach was used, whereas for the factors that influence the inefficiency function as the initial answer of the above analysis results of the production function parameter were obtained through the Maximum Likelihood Estimation (MLE), with an LR value of 14.3620 which was higher than t table 99% (2.39). It had a significant effect on the 99% confidence level. It was seem that, there was no meaning that all aromatic rice farmers in the regency were 100% efficient. It could be seen that the MLE log-likelihood value of 29.9157 was higher than the OLS log-likelihood value of 22.7347. The lowest technical efficiency value was achieved by the farmers by 0.55 and the highest by 0.97.  In the research area, the majority of the use of production factors was efficient, from 73.34% already in the value of efficiency between 0.90-1.00, meaning that 73.34% had approached the maximum efficiency. The result of the disseminated coefficient (R2) of 0.277 could mean a significant effect of 27.7 percent on the inefficiency variable while the remaining 72.3 percent is influenced by other factors not included in this research variable.

Previously this kelurahan was only an agricultural area which was only visited by residents when they were cultivating. The livelihoods of the population are mostly farmers and some are civil servants, traders and craftsmen, and so on. One of the agricultural products that are widely available in Batu Galing Village is sweet corn. Bearing in mind that sweet corn is a commodity that quickly deteriorates, it is necessary to find alternatives to deal with excessive product. One alternative solution to this problem is to process sweet corn into lunkhead. The low motivation and knowledge of Batu Galing Village farmers about making sweet corn dodol must be improved through counseling and training. On this basis, the teaching staff of the Faculty of Agriculture, University of Muhammadiyah Bengkulu, chose this location as a target for community service. To expedite community service activities, the service team is assisted by students who are carrying out KKN. The approach method used in this program, using counseling and demonstration methods for making sweet corn dodolKeywords: Sweet corn, sweet corn dodol, processed products

Abstract

Purpose: This study aims to analyze the impact of marketing strategies on consumer decisions in purchasing octopus cracker products produced by Kuritos Home Business in Linau Village, Kaur Regency. Methodology: The method used is a quantitative approach with a nonprobability sampling technique. Data were collected through questionnaires distributed to 100 respondents, and analyzed using multiple linear regression. Results: The results show that the variables price (t = 7.106), place (2.455), promotion (3.918), process (4.386), and physical evidence (2.492) have a significant effect on purchasing decisions. Meanwhile, the product (-0.269) and people/employees (-0.189) variables do not show a significant effect. The calculated F value of 59.906 and R² of 0.806 indicate a high predictive power of the model. Findings: The main findings indicate that of the seven marketing mix elements, five have a significant effect, with price as the most dominant factor. This study presents novelty by highlighting local products based on marine products in the context of marketing in household businesses in coastal areas. Novelty: This study presents novelty by highlighting local products based on marine products in the context of marketing in household businesses in coastal areas. Abstract

Purpose : To identify the factors influencing the conversion of rubber plantations into oil palm plantations in Tengah Padang Village, Talang Empat District, Central Bengkulu Regency. Methodology: The research employed a survey method with a sample of 30 rubber farmers who had converted their plantations into oil palm. Data were analyzed descriptively and through multiple linear regression analysis with independent variables including farmer’s age, experience, number of family members, education, and rubber farming income. Results: Simultaneously, all independent variables significantly affected the converted land area, with an F-value of 66.592 and a significance level of 0.000 (<0.05). Partially, only the variable of rubber farmers’ income had a significant effect on land conversion decisions. This indicates that economic factors are the main drivers influencing farmers’ decisions to convert rubber plantations into oil palm, as lower rubber income encourages them to seek more profitable alternatives, namely oil palm. Findings: These results are important as inputs for local governments in formulating sustainable policies for plantation land-use management and control. Novelty: The study provides direct empirical data from farmers, offering a real picture of the socio-economic dynamics influencing land-use change in Central Bengkulu Regency. Originality: This research was specifically conducted in Tengah Padang Village and used direct samples from farmers who converted rubber plantations into oil palm plantations. Conclusion: Simultaneously, the factors of age, experience, education, number of family members, and rubber farmers’ income significantly influence the extent of land conversion to oil palm. However, partially, only rubber farmers’ income has a significant effect. Article Type: Research Article.

Abstract

The rapid growth of the aquaculture sector, the leading provider of global animal protein, demands the application of technological innovations that sustainably improve the productivity, health, and quality of farmed fish. Genetic engineering and biotechnology have become strategic tools for transforming modern aquaculture systems by improving fish genetic traits, increasing disease resistance, and optimizing product quality. This study aims to conduct a comprehensive literature review of the role of genetic engineering and biotechnology in aquaculture transformation, focusing on its implications for the production, health, and quality of farmed fish. The research method is a qualitative approach based on library research, analyzing reputable scientific articles indexed in the Scopus, Web of Science, and Google Scholar databases. The analysis used thematic content analysis to identify patterns, conceptual frameworks, research trends, and key research gaps. The study found that marker-assisted genetic selection, genomics, and CRISPR-Cas9-based gene editing significantly improved growth rate, feed efficiency, and disease resistance in fish. In addition, the development of biotechnology-based recombinant vaccines, probiotics, and biosensors contributes to improving fish health, food safety, and the quality of aquaculture products. However, the study also identified a range of challenges, including ecological risks, biosecurity issues, regulation, and social acceptance of genetically engineered organisms. Therefore, the transformation of biotechnology-based aquaculture needs to be balanced with a strong policy framework, a prudential approach, and sustainable governance. This research is expected to make a theoretical contribution to the development of modern aquaculture science and to have practical implications for the formulation of innovative, inclusive, and environmentally friendly fisheries industry strategies.
