Abstract

The moment of inertia practicum in Physics learning in SMA/MA and equivalent is only carried out for objects with regular shapes and tends to be abandoned for objects with irregular shapes. The practicum for determining the moment of inertia of irregularly shaped objects tends to be abandoned due to the lack of adequate practicum tools. This study proposes a moment of inertia practicum tool called the Nanobade Plane which can be used to measure the moment of inertia of objects with regular shapes and irregular shapes. In the trial of the tool for measuring the moment of inertia (I) of a regular object in the form of a block with dimensions of length 14.83 cm, width 14.795 cm, thickness 2.05 cm and mass 257.92 g, the I value was obtained as much as 0.000929 kg m², while using the formula the I value was obtained as much as 0.000943 kg m². There is a difference in I of 0.000014 kg m² or an error of 1.48%. With the percentage error value, it can be stated that this practicum tool is suitable for use for moment of inertia experiments. Measurement of the moment of inertia of irregular objects using a tool was carried out on two different objects, namely a bottle filled with water and solid rubber, it turned out that the value of I for the bottle filled with water was 0.000929 kg m2, while I for solid rubber was 0.00038 kg m². With the discovery of this tool, the need for inertia moment practicums at the high school/vocational high school level and equivalent can be met. Compared to previous similar tools, this Nanobade Aircraft has a number of advantages such as being made from materials around us, easy to make, relatively affordable manufacturing costs, getting results close to accurate values, and can attract students' interest in learning.

Abstract

Research has been carried out with the aim to determine the existence of an increase and the difference in learning outcomes of students with learning using the experimental method guided inquiry method. This type of research is quantitative research with quasi experimental research methods, with a non-equivalent control group design form. This research was conducted at SMP Negeri 2 Jayapura in the academic year 2018/2019. The population is 200 students of class VIII. The research sample used was class VIIID as the experimental class and class VIIIE as the control class with a sample of 60 students. The learning result analysis technique used is n-gain analysis and t-test while the questionnaire uses percentage. The results of the research and processing of test data obtained n-gain learning outcomes of 0.69 which are in the medium category. Asymp. Sig. (2-tailed) value of 0,000 <0,05, then Ho is rejected and Ha is accepted, which means there is a difference in the increase in student learning outcomes that is significant. The results of the processed response data in the form of student questionnaires to the guided inquiry learning model are known that 60% of students respond adequately and 30% of students respond well. Then it can be concluded that the application of a guided inquiry learning model is sufficient and effective to improve student learning outcomes in vibration and wave material.

Abstract

Research has been conducted with the aims to know: the increase and comparison of direct influence and total influence between PBL model and learning motivation to master the concept of learners through problem solving ability. The method used is pre-experimental design and the descriptions used are one-group pretest-posttest design. The study was conducted at SMP Negeri 2 Jayapura academic year 2017/2018. Population amounted to 245 students class VIII. The sample of the study was class VIII F with sample size of 39 students. The analysis technique used is n-gain analysis and path analysis with two-lane analysis. The results obtained from the data in this study are: 1) There is an increase in the mastery of the concept of physical science IPA in class VIII F SMP Negeri 2 Jayapura is equal to 0.80, 2) Direct influence PBL model on the mastery of the concept that is equal to 26,01% total through the problem solving ability that is 88,2% is the strongest influence, followed by the influence of extrinsic learning motivation on the concept of mastery that is equal to 26,22% and total influence through problem solving ability that is equal to 83,9%, and the influence of intrinsic learning motivation to mastery of concept that is equal to 28,41% and total influence through problem solving ability 79%.

Abstract

A study was conducted at SMP Negeri 2 Jayapura on how Student Teams Achievement Division (STAD) Cooperative Learning aims to determine the improvement and differences in students' mastery of concepts between the experimental class taught using the STAD cooperative learning model and the control class taught with conventional learning on the subject of vibrations and waves. The results showed that the exploratory class had a more significant level of idea dominance than the control class. In the control class, there were several obstacles encountered by students, such as lack of understanding due to abstract concepts, difficulty understanding the graphs or diagrams presented, lack of practical experience, more reliance on memorization and difficulty applying formulas, students were still passive, and difficulty connecting theory with real phenomena. While in the experimental class, the application of the STAD model made students more active in collaborating and conducting group discussions so that social skills were more developed and reduced stress and there was reinforcement through feedback so that students were more motivated. This quantitative research was conducted by applying the nonequivalent control group design model. The sample was class VIII A and VIII C of SMP Negeri 2 Jayapura. Learning by implementing the STAD cooperative model shows the development of students' ability to master concepts with an n-gain score of 0.75 in the group of students who have high concept mastery and 0.58 in the group of students who have low concept mastery. The application of the conventional model and the STAD cooperative model in both classes significantly increased all materials. The difference is indicated by a significance value of 0.05 of 0.000. Based on these results, it can be concluded that STAD type cooperative learning can improve students' understanding of vibration and wave materials.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the increase in mastery of students' concepts on the subject of mechanical waves. This study uses the quasi experimental design and experimental design method that is used is the Non-equivalent Control Groups Design involving two study groups, the experimental and control classes, which were carried out at the SMA YPPK Teruna Bakti Jayapura in the semester 2018/2019. The number of samples in the research class, namely the experimental class and control class, each numbered 33 students. The sampling technique used was nonprobability sampling using purposive sampling. The instrument of data collection used is a test to see the increase in mastery of students' concepts through the pretest and posttest. To find out the increase in mastery of students' concepts used N-Gain analysis. Whereas to see the difference in mastery of participants' concepts taught with PBL learning models and students taught with conventional learning models used different statistical analysis tests. The results showed that there were significant differences in mastery of concepts between students who were taught with PBL learning models and students taught with conventional learning models for all mechanical wave concepts which were shown at a significance value of a <0.05 which was 0,000.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengevaluasi kebutuhan terhadap pengembangan E-LKPD dengan pendekatan pembelajaran berbasis masalah sebagai alat bantu dalam kegiatan belajar, menggambarkan karakteristik media tersebut, menilai kelayakan penggunaannya, mengukur pengaruhnya terhadap kemampuan siswa dalam memecahkan masalah, serta meninjau respons siswa terhadap penggunaannya. Metode yang digunakan adalah R&D yang mengadopsi model pengembangan empat tahap (4D), meskipun studi ini hanya mencakup tiga tahap, yakni pendefenisian (Define), mendesain (Design), dan mengembangkan (Develop). Data yang didapatkan merupakan data kuantitatif deskriptif, yang dikumpulkan melalui validasi oleh para ahli, penyebaran angket kepada peserta didik, serta hasil dari pre-test dan post-test. Temuan penelitian mengindikasikan bahwa: (1) Baik guru maupun siswa memerlukan bahan ajar digital berbasis masalah guna mendukung penguatan kemampuan berpikir kritis dan keterampilan memecahkan masalah; (2) E-LKPD dikembangkan secara kontekstual mengikuti langkah-langkah sistematis dari sintaks PBL; (3) Berdasarkan hasil validasi, produk dinyatakan sangat layak dipakai dengan nilai kelayakan rata-rata 93,7%; (4) Kemampuan siswa dalam memecahkan masalah mengalami peningkatan yang signifikan, ditunjukkan oleh nilai N-Gain sebesar 0,81 pada pertemuan pertama serta 0,84 pada pertemuan kedua; serta (5) Siswa menunjukkan tanggapan yang sangat positif terhadap penggunaan E-LKPD, dengan tingkat kepuasan masing-masing sebesar 85,5% dan 86,7%.

Abstract

Keberhasilan dalam pembelajaran adalah ketika peserta didik memiliki kemampuan memahami suatu konsep secara ilmiah dan penerapannya dalam kehidupan sehari-hari. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui peningkatan dan perbedaan penguasaan konsep antara peserta didik yang diajarkan dengan model PBL dan model kooperatif tipe STAD pada materi tekanan zat cair. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode kuantitatif dengan quasi experimental. Penelitian dilakukan di SMP Negeri 11 Jayapura dengan sampel yang digunakan adalah kelas VIII E sebagai kelas eksperimen yang diajarkan menggunakan model PBL dan VIII F sebagai kelas kontrol yang diajarkan menggunakan model kooperatif tipe STAD. Pengambilan sampel dilakukan dengan teknik purposive sampling. Hasil peningkatan penguasaan konsep menunjukkan nilai n-gain seluruh konsep pada kelas eksperimen sebesar  0,72 yang tergolong kategori penguasaan konsep tinggi dan kelas kontrol sebesar 0,61 tergolong kategori hasil belajar sedang. Hasil uji t menunjukkan terdapat perbedaan penguasaan konsep yang signifikan antara peserta didik yang diajarkan menggunakan model PBL dan peserta didik yang diajarkan dengan model kooperatif tipe STAD yang ditunjukkan nilai signifikasi 𝛼 < 0,05 yaitu sebesar 0,000, untuk seluruh konsep yaitu konsep tekanan hidrostatis, konsep Hukum Archimedes, dan konsep Hukum Pascal.
