Abstract

Dengue hemorrhagic fever (DHF) is still a health problem globally, including in Indonesia. Geographical and climatic conditions in coastal areas are different from other areas, which may impact differences in environmental risk factors for dengue. This study aims to create a prediction model for the incidence of DHF in coastal areas. The research was conducted in Bantul Regency, Indonesia, involving data from 2015-2019. Dengue incidence data were collected from the health office. Climatic data were from climatology station. Data on altitude and shoreline distance were obtained by geographic information system (GIS) processing. Population density and wide settlement area are obtained from the Bureau of Statistics. The geographically weighted regression (GWR) analysis was carried out using GWR4. The results showed that GWR with a weighting of Fixed Bi-Square Kernel obtained an R2 value of 0.7768, better than the global model (R2 0.5254). It indicates that DHF (Y) in Bantul Regency is 77.68% determined by population density (X1), altitude (X2), settlement area (X3), shoreline distance (X4) and rainfall (X5) and the remaining 22.32% are influenced by other variables which are not investigated. Geographically, the predictor variables explain the DHF incidence with a strong category in the central region, and weak in coastal area.

Abstract

CAUTI has been shown to increase the mortality rate, length of stay (LOS), susceptible patients to CAUTI are due to risk factors, namely women, the elderly, and diabetics. This study aimed to analyze the risk factors for the Incidence of urinary tract infections in patients with catheters in Hospitals. The research design used was an observational analytic study with a cross sectional design approach. The sample in this study were patients diagnosed with UTI in the inpatient room for 4 months from November 2019 to February 2020, obtained as many as 11 respondents with inclusion criteria being patients diagnosed with clinical urinary tract infection and having a catheter installed for at least 3 days. Sample selection is done by Consecutive Sampling. Data were taken from medical records at the hospital. Ethical permission for this research was granted from the research ethics section of Aisyiyah University Yogyakarta. There are three results of the analysis, namely: 1) gender has an effect on UTI (p = 0.023), the female gender is 7 times more at risk than the male gender (OR = 7.041), 2. age affects UTI (p = 0.004), age more than 70 years old is 11 times more likely to have UTI compared to those less than 70 years old (OR = 11,445), 3. Age factor is more influential on UTI than gender. The risk factors for the incidence of urinary tract infections in patients with catheters in the hospital are: 1. Gender, female sex is 7 times more at risk than male sex, 2. Age, over 70 years old is 11 times more at risk of UTI compared to those aged less than 70 years.

Abstract

Abstract

Islamic hospitals aim to integrate religious values with healthcare delivery, ensuring services align with both medical standards and Shariah principles. The study analyzes the impact of Islamic service dimensions on inpatient satisfaction at Unimus Hospital, focusing on compliance, reliability, responsiveness, assurance, empathy, and tangibles, using SERVQUAL, CARTER, and PAKSERV models. A mixed-method approach with a sequential explanatory design was applied, integrating quantitative and qualitative research. The quantitative phase involved a cross-sectional survey of 94 inpatients, selected through total sampling, using a structured questionnaire validated through instrument testing, including Pearson correlation for validity and Cronbach’s alpha (≥0.6) for reliability. The qualitative phase employed purposive sampling, engaging six key informants through semi-structured interviews to explore patient experiences and service challenges. Data analysis included descriptive statistics for quantitative findings, while Miles and Huberman’s interactive model was applied for qualitative data. Methodological and data triangulation ensured validity by integrating multiple data sources and analytical methods. Findings indicated that 88.5% of patients reported high satisfaction, yet 1.06% expressed dissatisfaction regarding compliance, reliability, and responsiveness, citing delays in medical services, inconsistencies in religious support, and limited implementation of Shariah-based healthcare protocols. Strengthening staff training, religious service consistency, and hospital infrastructure could enhance patient trust and satisfaction. The study contributes empirical insights for Islamic healthcare management, supporting policy refinement and service improvements in faith-based hospitals.

Abstract

Clinical pathways (CP) are an evidence-based guideline designed for quality control and cost control of patient care. Clinical pathway compliance at one of the type C private hospitals in Indonesia (TCPH) was recorded at 0% during the first five months of 2023. This study aims to explore the factors influencing the application of the Clinical pathway for incomplete abortion and identify potential strategies to improve its utilization through an action research approach. This qualitative study employed two intervention cycles, including evaluation, identification of barriers, and socialization and education. Data were collected through Focus Group Discussions and were analyzed thematically. The study explored various aspects of CP implementation and evaluation for incomplete abortion, focusing on compliance assessment. The primary barriers identified were inadequate socialization, limited understanding, and restricted access to CP documents. Improvement strategies included providing medication packages, enhancing socialization efforts, and standardizing procedures across service units. Socialization was crucial in ensuring healthcare providers understood and adhered to CP, ultimately enhancing service effectiveness. The implementation of the incomplete abortion CP remains suboptimal due to the lack of audits, compliance monitoring, and socialization, leading to inconsistencies in care and reduced service effectiveness. A formal audit, strengthened monitoring, and improved socialization are necessary to ensure treatment uniformity and enhance service quality.
