Abstract

This study aims to analyze the influence of Qur’an learning motivation on Aqidah Akhlaq learning achievement among female students of Grade VIII D at the Junior High School of Tahfidzul Qur’an Abi Ummi Islamic Boarding School, Ampel Boyolali, in the 2024/2025 academic year. The study employed a descriptive quantitative approach with a correlational design. Data were collected through a Qur’an learning motivation questionnaire and documentation of Aqidah Akhlaq academic scores. The data were analyzed using descriptive statistics, Pearson Product Moment correlation, and simple regression assisted by SPSS version 26.0. The results indicate that students’ Qur’an learning motivation is categorized as high, with an average score above 80. The learning achievement in Aqidah Akhlaq is also classified as good, with an average score of 87. The correlation analysis shows a coefficient (r) of 0.67 and a significance value (p) of 0.001 (<0.05), indicating a strong and significant positive relationship between Qur’an learning motivation and Aqidah Akhlaq achievement. The regression analysis further reveals that learning motivation contributes 45% to the variance of Aqidah Akhlaq achievement. The study implies that Qur’an-based spiritual motivation is a key determinant of both academic performance and moral development. Therefore, Islamic boarding schools should integrate Qur’an memorization programs with Aqidah Akhlaq learning based on Qur’anic values.

Abstract

This study addresses the limited research on the effectiveness of Liqo Tarbawi as a method of character development at the higher education level in pesantren-based institutions, despite growing concerns about moral decline among university students and its implications for future Muslim leadership. The research aims to examine the influence of Liqo Tarbawi activities on the moral character of mahasantri at Ma’had Aly Baitul Hikmah Sukoharjo during the 2024/2025 academic year. Utilizing a quantitative correlational design, data were collected from 87 respondents through total sampling. Instruments included a Likert-scale questionnaire, non-participant observation, and semi-structured interviews. Data were analyzed using descriptive statistics and simple linear regression via SPSS 26.0. The results reveal a positive and statistically significant relationship between participation in Liqo Tarbawi and moral character development, with a correlation coefficient of r = 0.386 and a contribution rate of 14.9%. These findings support Lickona’s (1992) theory of character education and the Islamic tarbiyah framework, which emphasize the role of intensive moral formation through modeling and small-group engagement. The study concludes that Liqo Tarbawi is an effective instrument for cultivating moral character but requires complementary support from familial and institutional cultural environments. Practical implications include the need to strengthen tarbiyah-based curricula, enhance the competencies of murabbi (mentors), and develop community-oriented models of character education. Future research is encouraged to employ longitudinal or mixed-method approaches to capture the deeper processes of internalization.

Abstract

This study examines the influence of TikTok social media usage on learning achievement in the Aqidah Akhlak subject among eighth-grade students at SMP Muhammadiyah Boarding School (MBS) Prof Hamka Madiun in the 2024/2025 academic year. A quantitative correlational approach was employed with 31 students as respondents. Data were collected using a TikTok usage questionnaire (a validated and reliable instrument) and documentation of students’ Aqidah Akhlak report scores. Data analysis involved descriptive statistics and simple linear regression, preceded by classical assumption tests (normality and linearity). The results indicated that TikTok usage among students was high (55% of students), while their Aqidah Akhlak performance was generally moderate (39% of students in the medium category). Regression analysis revealed a significant positive influence of TikTok usage on learning achievement (r = 0.813, p < 0.05). TikTok usage accounted for approximately 66% of the variance in Aqidah Akhlak scores. In conclusion, the use of TikTok has a significant positive effect on students’ learning achievement in Aqidah Akhlak. Students who more frequently engage with TikTok—especially for educational content—tend to achieve higher academic performance in that subject. It is suggested that TikTok be utilized as an innovative learning medium under proper guidance to enhance learning outcomes.
