Abstract

Tapong adalah sebuah desa yang terletak di Sulawesi Selatan, tepatnya di Kecamatan Maiwa Kabupaten Enrekang, sebagian masyarakatnya memiliki pekerjaan sebagai petani aren. Thamrin adalah salah satu warga Desa Tapong, seorang petani aren bersama keluarga memiliki usaha produksi gula aren balok. Usaha mereka ini masih tergolong sebagai usaha kecil atau home industry, pengelolaannya masih tradisional dan sulit untuk berkembang, karena belum memiliki legalitas usaha, produk belum beragam, belum memiliki kemasan, serta pemasaran masih mengandalkan pesan produksi dari konsumen. Melalui program Kuliah Kerja Nyata (KKN) Mahasiswa Universitas Muhammadiyah Parepare (UMPAR), maka dilakukan kegiatan pembinaan untuk pengembangan usaha tersebut, yakni pendampingan pengurusan izin usaha, diversifikasi produk, branding dan packaging, serta memperluas akses pasar melalui pemanfaatan website desa. Setelah pendampingan dan pembinaan, usaha tersebut mulai berkembang, terlihat dari meningkatnya permintaan dari konsumen akan produk gula aren hasil produksi mereka, serta keuntungan pelaku usaha meningkat dibandingkan sebelum adanya proses pendampingan dan pembinaan.

Abstract

YouTube, as a digital platform, has significant potential to support online learning because it provides engaging audio-visual content, is easily accessible, and allows students to review learning materials repeatedly. In addition, YouTube can increase students’ learning interest and create a more flexible learning experience. Therefore, lecturers are expected to be more creative in developing interesting, enjoyable, and interactive learning environments, and YouTube can serve as one of the effective media to achieve this goal. This study aimed to determine students’ responses toward the use of YouTube as an online learning medium. The findings are expected to serve as evaluation material for improving the learning process in the future. This research employed a descriptive quantitative design using a student response questionnaire to collect the required data. The results showed that the overall average percentage of all indicators reached 76.83% based on responses from 21 students of the Mathematics Education Study Program who completed the questionnaire. These findings indicate that Mathematics Education students had positive responses toward the use of YouTube as an online learning medium. Therefore, this positive response is expected to support students in carrying out the learning process more effectively and optimally. However, despite the positive responses, the use of YouTube as a learning medium still requires attention to several aspects, such as visual appearance, video quality, creativity in presentation, and the clarity of material delivery, in order to attract students and improve their understanding of the learning videos provided.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the effect of learning independence on mathematics learning achievement of students of class X UPT SMA NegeriI 1 Parepare, while this type of research is a quantitative research using the Ex Post Facto approach. The population in this study were students of class X which consisted of 6 classes. The sample in this study was class X IPA 6 which amounted to 36 people, selected using a sampling technique called Cluster Random Sampling. The data of this research were obtained by using research instruments in the form of a learning independence questionnaire and documentation of learning achievement in the form of the odd semester report cards for the academic year 2021/2022. The data collection techniques used were questionnaire techniques and documentation techniques.The result of the descriptive analysis obtained an average score of 72.50 for learning independence and a standart deviation of 7.99. Students’ mathematics learning achievement is in the very high category with an average score of 85.44 and a standard deviation of 4.11. The results of the inferential analysis showed that there was a positive effect of learning independence on mathematics learning achievement of class X students of UPT SMA Negeri 1 Parepare with a significant value of 0.038 < 0.05.

Abstract

This study aims to find out that the use of problems solving approach has a positive effect on students' abilities in solving story problems on the Pythagorean theorem class VIII.5 UPTD SMP Negeri 18 Barru. This type of research is quasi-experimental without a control class conducted in one group. The variables studied in this study were students' ability to solve word problems on the Pythagorean theorem class VIII.5 UPTD SMP Negeri 18 Barru as the dependent variable and learning using the problems solving method as the independent variable. The population of this study were all students of class VIII UPTD SMP Negeri 18 Barru for the academic year 2022/2023 which consisted of 5 (five) classes. Sampling was carried out by cluster random sampling, from 5 classes one class was taken randomly namely class VIII.5 as the experimental class. The instruments used in this study were tests of the ability to solve the Pythagorean theorem word problems and validated student activity observation sheets. Based on the descriptive statistical analysis, the average score of students' ability to solve the Pythagorean theorem story problems before learning using the problem solving learning method was 63,37 and the average score of students' ability to solve the Pythagorean theorem story problems after learning using the problem solving method was 80,40. Based on inferential statistical analysis using the one sample t-test, a significant value was obtained, p = 0,004 < a = 0, this means that H0 is rejected H1 is accepted. So it can be concluded that there is a positive effect of the problem solving learning method on the mathematics learning outcomes of class VIII.5 UPTD SMP Negeri 18 Barru.
