Abstract

The scholars argued that there are several differences in the total and khabar on asbāb al-nuzūl of Sūrah al A‘rāf verse 189. These differences definitely lead to a number of controversies regarding the understanding of the verse. This paper verifies this problem by comparing the opinions of muhadditsīn and mufassirīn scholars, so that it is clear which argument is more appropriate to apply to the verse. The researcher concludes that the majority of scholars do not include khabar of Asbāb al-nuzūl of Sūrah al A'rāf verse 189 for two reasons. First, asbāb al-nuzūl contains Isrā’iliyyāt. Second, the substance of asbāb al-nuzūl is not in accordance with the value of 'Aqeedah Iman to Rasul because it states that Prophet Adam had committed shirk by following the whispers of the devil and naming his son with the name of the devil so that he would live. Ada perbedaan jumlah dan khabar pada Asbāb al-nuzūl Surat al A’rāf  ayat 189 yang dinyatakan oleh para ulama. Perbedaan ini mengundang banyak kontroversi sehingga menimbulkan perbedaan pemahaman terhadap ayat tersebut. Tulisan ini mengkaji problem tersebut dengan mengkomparasikan pendapat ulama muhadditsīn dan mufassirīn, sehingga dapat diketahui hujjah mana yang lebih tepat diterapkan pada ayat tersebut. Peneliti menyimpulkan bahwa mayoritas ulama tidak mencantumkan riwayat Asbāb al-nuzūl  pada Surat al A’rāf ayat 189 dikarenakan dua hal. Pertama, asbāb al-nuzūl tersebut berisi tentang Israiliyyat. Kedua, subtansi asbāb al-nuzūl tidak sesuai dengan nilai akidah Iman kepada Rasul karena menyatakan bahwa Nabi Adam pernah melakukan syirik dengan mengikuti bisikan setan dan menamai anaknya dengan nama setan supaya ia hidup.

Abstract

The development of the interpretation of the Qur'an includes the interpretation of the meaning contained in the Qur'an, as well as its application and contextualization in everyday life. The product of the interpretation of the Qur'an produced by the mufassir, is not always the same or in harmony with each other. Expertise, tendencies and methods used by mufassirs, become some of the main factors causing differences in interpretation. al-Dakhi>l in the term mufassir, is an interpretation or interpretation that does not have the slightest origin in religion, with the aim of destroying the content of the Qur'an. Therefore, the science of al-dakhi>l is needed to clean and parallelize the Qur'an from things that are not actually from the Qur'an. This study will describe the al-dakhi>l done by one of the mufassirs, Imam Thabari. The research model used, namely qualitative research by applying the type of library research. The results of this study indicate that there are several interpretations of Imam Thabari on the verses of the Qur'an including al-dakhi>l. Especially in the verses about the story in the Qur'an; as well as the use of dha'if hadith, aqwal shahabi, and tabi'in which are dha'if in Surah al-Kahfi; another thing is also found in Surah al-Naml, namely the use of Israiliyyat History.

Abstract

Tafsir fi Dzilal al-Qur’an karya Sayyid Qutb merepresentasikan kondisi sosial dan politik di Mesir yang bergejolak. Dengan berbekal pada keilmuan yang dimilikinya, Qutb telah menghasilkan karya tafsir yang memiliki karakteristik berbeda dengan sebelumnya. Seringkali kritik dari pakar ulama tafsir ditujukan padanya atas paradigma berpikir yang dianggap ekstrim termasuk dalam penafsiran ayat Al-Qur’an. Dalam tulisan ini, penulis akan fokus menganalisis karakteristik tafsir fi Dzilal al-Qur’an dan signifikasinya terhadap nilai-nilai maqasid al-qur’an. Penelitian ini termasuk jenis penelitian kualitatif dengan pendekatan library research. Untuk mendapatkan data-data hasil penelitian, maka digunakan dokumentasi sebagi metode pengumpulan data dan content analysissebagai metode analisis data. Hasil penelitian ini mencakup dua hal. Pertama, karakteristik dalam tafsir ini bisa dilihat dari paradigma tafsir Qutb sebagai basis penafsirannya, yaitu adanya transformasi pandangan terhadap Al-Qur’an; dari tujuan sastrawi ke purifikasi dan gagasan hermeneutis berbasis paradigma teokratik. Kedua, terdapat signifikansi penafsiran ayat terhadap nilai-nilai maqasid al-qur’an yaitu nilai keadilan, tanggung jawab dalam ketauhidan, kemanusiaan (kejujuran, kesabaran, kesopanan tingkah laku, jalinan kasih sayang, rendah hati atau tidak sombong, persatuan dan kesatuan), persamaan kedudukan manusia dan pendidikan akhlak. Abstract

Abstrak Penelitian ini bertujuan menganalisa surah al-Maidah ayat 87 dan verifikasi produk halal yang dilakukan MUI. Kemudian mencari korelasi antara keduanya. Penelitian ini berjenis kualitatif dengan data yang diperoleh dari artikel ilmiah sehingga disebut library research. Hasil penelitian menujukkan surah al-Maidah ayat 87 menghimbau agar kaum muslim tidak berlebihan dalam beragama sehingga mengharamkan apa yang Allah halalkan, dan mengambil hukum halal dan haram, padahal yang demikian itu adalah hak prerogratif Allah. Pemerintah melalui MUI saat ini berwenang memberi putusan halal dan haram melalui aturan verifikasi produk halal, menjadikan konsumen merasa tidak khawatir akan produk yang dikonsumsinya. Korelasi antara surah al-maidah ayat 87 dengan aturan MUI verifikasi produk halal adalah hanya Allah yang punya hak prerogatif menentukan hukum halal dan haram, sedangkan saat ini proses verifikasi produk halal hanya dibawah wewenang MUI dan didasarkan pada dalil-dalil yang jelas dari Alquran dan Sunnah. MUI sebagai badan otoritatif dalam hal ini, harus memastikan bahwa proses verifikasi produk halal didasarkan pada prinsip-prinsip Islam yang jelas dan tidak bertentangan dengan ajaran agama. Abstract

Nasikh mansukh merupakan konsep yang menimbulkan polemik dalam studi Al-Qur’an. Khususnya, QS. al-Nahl: 101 yang sering dikutip sebagai contoh naskh. Tulisan ini membahas berbagai penafsiran, relevansi, dan kontekstualisasi ayat tersebut. Penafsiran tradisional menegaskan bahwa naskh terjadi ketika ayat-ayat Allah menggantikan yang lainnya, namun pandangan ini dipertanyakan oleh beberapa sarjana modern. Mereka mengklaim bahwa konsep ini menunjukkan evolusi hukum Allah yang terbuka terhadap perubahan konteks sosial. Kontekstualisasi naskh dalam konteks kontemporer juga diperdebatkan. Beberapa ulama menegaskan bahwa prinsip naskh relevan dalam hukum Islam modern, sementara yang lain menolaknya karena pengaruh sosial dan kontekstualisasi. Oleh karena itu, polemik mengenai nasikh Mansukh mencerminkan kompleksitas dalam memahami Al-Qur'an dan kontekstualisasinya dalam konteks zaman. Kesimpulannya, pemahaman terhadap QS. al-Nahl: 101 memerlukan penelitian mendalam yang memperhatikan konteks historis dan interpretasi kontemporer.

Abstract

This study analyzes the interpretation of legal and humanitarian aspects in Surah Al-Buruj, according to Sayyid Qutb in Fi Zilal al-Qur'an, to understand the dynamics of torture in the story of Ashab Al-Ukhdud. Through a qualitative methodology and thematic interpretation approach, the study examines Sayyid Qutb's thoughts on the story of Ashab al-Ukhdud and its relevance to modern social, political, and humanitarian issues. The research highlights the importance of divine justice as a means of resistance against unjust rulers and relates the story of Ashab Al-Ukhdud to the challenges of genocide and human rights violations. The findings emphasize the integration of legal and humanitarian values with Qur'anic texts in contemporary tafsir, contributing to a better understanding of how these values can be applied in a modern context. This study offers insights into the interpretation of Qur'anic texts and their implications for addressing current societal issues..

Abstract

Paradigma epistemologi konstruksionisme penting dipaparkan karena hal ini menjadi pondasi dalam berpikir dan memandang bentuk sumber pengetahuan, apakah itu berupa hakikat yang sebenarnya atau sesuatu yang dibangun oleh masyarakat, sehingga, melalui paradigma ini seseorang dalam melakukan penelitian secara lebih akurat. Artikel ini memiliki tujuan untuk memaparkan secara komprehensif terkait paradigma epistemologi konstruksionisme sebagai landasan dalam penelitian sosial, baik itu dalam tataran konsep maupun penerapannya. Dengan menggunakan metode penelitian pustaka dan pendekatan kualitatif, tulisan ini menggunakan analisis deskriptif untuk menggali data pada berbagai sumber. Adapun sumber data utama dalam tulisan ini adalah buku berjudul “The Foundations of Social Research: Meaning and Perspective in the Research Process” yang ditulis oleh Michael Crotty, sedangkan sumber data penunjang adalah berbagai buku ilmiah, artikel jurnal, dan beberapa dokumen lain yang dapat dipercaya. Hasil dari tulisan ini menunjukkan bahwa konstruksionisme merupakan salah satu paradigma dalam epistemologi yang dapat dijadikan basis berpikir untuk melakukan penelitian sosial, baik itu penelitian lapangan seperti pendekatan fenomenologi maupun penelitian pustaka seperti pendekatan hermeneutik. Selain itu, paradigma epistemologi ini saat diterapkan dalam penelitian sosial akan selalu mengikuti 4 elemen pokok, yaitu epistemologi, sudut pandang teoritis, metodologi, dan metode.

Abstract

The phenomenon of early marriage remains a complex social and legal issue in Indonesia, reflecting the gap between religious texts, legal regulations, and societal realities. This research departs from the debate on the hadith of the Prophet Muhammad's marriage to 'Aisha ra. which is often used as a justification for the practice of child marriage. The purpose of this research is to critically analyze the hadith through a socio-historical approach and maqāṣid al-sharī‘ah, and review its conformity with the provisions of Indonesian positive law. The research method used is normative legal research - perspective and qualitative study through literature analysis of the hadiths in Kutub al-Sittah, the views of classical fuqaha, and national legal policies such as Law No. 16 of 2019. The results of the study show that classical scholars permit al-saghirah marriage based on historical context, but contemporary scholars emphasize the need for contextual interpretation for the sake of child protection. The maqāṣid al-sharī‘ah approach emphasizes the importance of principles and maslahah to prevent physical and social harm. From a positive legal perspective, changing the marriageable age limit to 19 represents a harmonization of Islamic law and the principle of children's rights. This study concludes that the hadith of 'Aisyah should be understood as historical fact, not normative legitimacy, and emphasizes the need for adaptive and just Islamic legal ijtihad regarding the protection of children and families

Abstract

The study of asbab al-nuzul occupies an important position in ulum al-Quran because it serves as a bridge between the text of revelation and its historical context. Two central figures who exerted significant influence in this discipline are al-Wahidi (d. 468 AH) and al-Suyuti (d. 911 AH). This article aims to examine the evolution of asbab al-nuzul thought in the works of these two scholars by employing qualitative methods through a library-based approach, as well as historical, comparative, and philosophy-of-science frameworks to analyze the aspects of nature (ontology), sources of knowledge (epistemology), and the function of asbab al-nuzul (axiology). This study shows that, ontologically, al-Wahidi understood asbab al-nuzul as broad historical events that could have occurred long before the revelation of a verse, whereas al-Suyuti restricted them to incidents occurring simultaneously with the descent of the verse. From an epistemological perspective, al-Wahidi’s approach is more compilatory without deep scrutiny of transmission chains, while al-Suyuti applied stricter selection and validation of reports. Axiologically, al-Wahidi positioned the causes of revelation as the basis for understanding meaning and legal rulings, whereas al-Suyuti strengthened the function of asbab al-nuzul through more authentic and comprehensive narrations to support more authoritative interpretation. Thus, this study affirms that there was a significant evolution from a compilatory-descriptive stage to a methodological-critical one. The contribution of this article lies in demonstrating the relevance of ontological, epistemological, and axiological frameworks in tracing the development of Quranic exegesis, while also opening space for the actualization of asbab al-nuzul in contemporary scholarship.

Abstract

This study examines the phenomenon of illegal cigarettes and illegal thrifting in Indonesia through the lens of maqāşid al-Syarī’ah and the principle of religious moderation in the Qur’an. This study uses a library-based method with descriptive analysis of the interpretation of QS al-Mā’idah (5):87-88 and al-Naḥl  (16):116, as well as Indonesian laws and regulations governing excise and trade, specifically Law No. 39/2007 on Excise and Law No. 7/2014 on Trade. The findings show that these two illegal practices are not only violations of positive law regarding the obligation to pay excise and the prohibition on importing used clothing, but also manifestations of “exceeding limits” and “prevarication in law” in economic activities, which are strongly condemned in the Qur’an. These practices clearly contradict the principles of maqāṣid al-Shari’ah, especially in protecting property (ḥifẓ al-Māl), life (ḥifẓ al-Nafs), and intellect (ḥifẓ al-’Aql), as they undermine state revenue, damage the national industrial structure, and increase health risks while normalizing fraud in society. In conclusion, eradicating illegal cigarettes and illegal thrifting practices is a concrete manifestation of religious moderation, because it rejects extremism in the form of ignoring Sharia norms and state laws, while affirming the synergy between Islamic values and the enforcement of fair fiscal and trade regulations to achieve economic justice and public welfare.
