Abstract

The purpose of this service activity is to provide understanding and awareness for the people of Ombolata Afulu Village, Afulu District, that what planting media is suitable for use in betel nut nurseries. The method used in this service is the lecture method in the form of outreach used with participants consisting of areca nut farming communities in Ombolata Afulu Village, Afulu District. This activity was carried out at the Bobotalu Afulu ONKP Church on Friday, May 5 2023. The results obtained from this dedication were the people of Ombolata Afulu Village, Afulu District. Socialization activities regarding the cultivation of areca plants (seeding techniques) have been carried out well, in the cultivation of areca plants various factors are very decisive. One of the most important factors is the success of the areca plant nursery process. This needs to be considered because the areca plant also requires a relatively longer time in the germination process, so a planting medium that is really suitable is needed. The conclusion from this community service activity is that the nursery is carried out using planting media derived from tofu dregs and the germination process of areca seeds is best done in the dark.

Abstract

The purpose of this service activity is to provide socialization to the community on how to manage betel nut plants through land management, maintenance and post-harvest. The method used in this service is the lecture method in the form of outreach delivered through areca nut farmers in Ombolata Afulu Village, Afulu District. The results obtained in the service carried out were that through this socialization the community through socialization regarding the cultivation of betara betel plants, especially in the fields of land management, maintenance and harvesting, received a good response from all participants. This was evidenced by the large number of people who wanted to hear about the processes and cultivation of the betel nut plant, besides that the community also asked many questions that the public still did not know about the process of cultivating the betel nut in detail and comprehensively to the presenter. The conclusion from this community service activity is that the village community in cultivating areca plants is very enthusiastic about what other benefits can be obtained both for cultivation on the Nias Islands to help the community's economy, especially on the Nias islands.

Abstract

Tujuan pada kegiatan pengabdian ini supaya masyarakat petani sayur dapat memanfaatkan pekarangan rumah dengan benar untuk budidaya tanaman sayur. Metode yang digunakan dalam pengabdian ini adalah metode ceramah berbentuk sosialisasi digunakan dengan peserta terdiri dari masyarakat petani Desa Banuagea Kecamatan Tuhemberua. Kegiatan ini dilaksanakan di Balai Pertemuan Desa Banuagea pada hari Selasa, 23 November 2021. Hasil yang didapatkan pada pengabdian ini adalah masyarakat Desa Banuagea Kecamatan Banuagea begitu antusias mengikuti kegiatan ini sehingga telah terlaksana dengan baik. Pemateri menyampaikan bahwa pekarangan dapat dimanfaatkan untuk melakukan budidaya tanaman sayur. Simpulan pada kegiatan pengabdian ini bahwa Pekarangan dapat dimanfaatkan dengan teknik budidaya tanaman sayuran secara vertikultur melalui beberapa model dengan menggunakan wadah berupa pipa paralon, botol bekas, pot, polybag atau wadah lainnya tergantung kreatifitas.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the effect of liquid biofertilizer and biochar on the growth and yield of mustard greens (Brassica juncea). This study was conducted from November to December 2023 in the Agrotechnology practicum field, Faculty of Science and Technology, Nias Raya University. The experimental design used was a 3 x 4 factorial Randomized Block Design (RAK) with 3 replications. There were two factors studied, namely the concentration of liquid biofertilizer consisting of three levels, namely Control (P0), 75 ml (P1), and 150 ml (P2), and biochar consisting of 4 levels, namely Control (B1), 1kg (B2), 2kg (B2) and 3kg (B3). The variables observed included plant height, number of leaves, and leaf length, leaf width, and wet weight. The concentration of liquid biofertilizer had a significant effect on leaf length, leaf width, and wet weight of plants aged 35 HST, had no significant effect on plant height, number of leaves aged 7, 14, 21, and 28 HST. The best dose of liquid biofertilizer treatment was at a concentration of 150 ml (P2). The provision of biochar had a significant effect on leaf length, leaf width, and plant wet weight at the age of 35 HST, had no significant effect on plant height and number of leaves at the ages of 7, 14, 21, and 28 HST. The results showed that there was a significant interaction on leaf length, leaf width, and plant wet weight, a significant interaction on leaf length, leaf width, and plant wet weight at the age of 35 HST, while other parameters had no significant effect. The interaction between the concentration of liquid fertilizer 150 ml (P2) with 3 kg of biochar (B3) was the best treatment combination.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui pengaruh pemberian pupuk kandang ayam broiler terhadap pertumbuhan tanaman timun (Cucumis sativus L) Jenis penelitian ini adalah penelitian kuantitatif dengan metode Eksperimen murni (True eksperimen). Populasi penelitian ini adalah tanaman timun (Cucumis sativus L.) sebanyak 30 polybag. Sampel penelitian ini menggunakan sampel sensu yang terdiri dari 30 polybag tanaman timun (Cucumis sativus L.) dengan enam perlakuan dan lima kali ulangan. Perlakuan yang diterapkan adalah P0 (tanpa pupuk ), P1 (3 gram), P2 (6 gram), P3 (9 gram), P4 (12 gram), P5 (15 gram). Data penelitian ini dianalisis menggunakan Aplikasi SPSS versi 16. Berdasarkan analisis menggunakan uji normalitas, homogenitas dan hipotesis menujukan bahwa pemberian pupuk kandang ayam broiler pada perlakuan P4 (12 gram) dan P5 (15 gram) pada tanaman timun memberikan pengaruh yang sangat nyata terhadap tinggi batang, jumlah daun, dan diameter batang tanaman timun. Hasil analisi data dari uji Beda Nyata Jujur (BNJ) Tukey HSD juga di peroleh bahwa nilai Fhitung > Ftabel maka Ho ditolak dan Ha diterima. Hal ini disebabkan karena semakin banyak dosis pupuk yang diberikan, maka N yang terkandung dalam bokashi juga semakin banyak yang diterima oleh tanah. Berdasarkan hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa penggunaan pupuk kandang ayam broiler memberikan pengaruh yang nyata terhadap pertumbuhan tanaman timun (Cucumis sativus L). Saran yang ditawarkan peneliti, sebaiknya penggunaan pupuk kandang ayam broiler lebih ditingkatkan untuk mengatasi kelangkaan dan mahalnya pupuk.
