Abstract

Abstract

Educators are an essential element in the world of education. To become a successful educator, appropriate strategies are needed to convey learning appropriately. A significant figure from Morocco named Abd al-Salām Yāsīn (1928-2012) compiled notes in his book "Muzakkarāt fi Al-Tarbiyyah li Madāris al-Mu'allimīn wa Al-Mu'allimāt about education in 1963. This paper tries to look at the from the book about the ideal educator according to Abd al-Salām Yāsīn. The type of research used is qualitative research (non-interactive) with content analysis techniques. The researcher found that there are 8 (eight) ideal educator concepts according to Abd al-Salām Yāsīn. Among them: (1) creative; (2) perfect physique; (3) simple and attractive appearance; (4) have intelligence; (5) have the character of compassion, emotional intelligence and empathy; (6) is fair; (7) sensitive; and (8) authoritative. All of his ideas are still relevant to the world of education today.

Abstract

This study compares the quality of Indonesian–Arabic academic translations produced by Google Translate and ChatGPT (GPT-4), a topic rarely examined despite widespread MT use in Arabic Language Education programs. Using a qualitative descriptive design with content analysis, the data comprised ten purposively selected undergraduate thesis titles from Indonesian university repositories, including UIN Sunan Kalijaga, UIN Suska Riau, UIN Imam Bonjol Padang, and Universitas Muhammadiyah Makassar. Titles were selected for their academic rigor and need for conceptual precision and formal Arabic register. Translations were analyzed at the phrase level using a Hybrid MQM–Nababan–Baker rubric encompassing seven dimensions: accuracy, acceptability, readability, lexical equivalence, grammatical equivalence, cohesion and coherence, and academic fluency, each rated on a three-point scale. Validity was ensured through alignment with Arabic translation theory, equivalence frameworks, and MQM standards, while iterative consistency checks supported reliability. Results reveal clear differences. ChatGPT achieved an average score of 20.0 out of 21 points (93%), which is classified as Very Good and indicates strong suitability for academic publication. Google Translate scored 13.3 out of 21 points (63%), classified as Good, but requiring post-editing. ChatGPT excelled in contextual meaning, syntactic restructuring, accurate idhafah, case governance, consistent terminology, and scholarly style, whereas Google Translate showed literal transfer. This study enriches AI-assisted translation discourse by grounding evaluation in Arabic translation theory and pedagogy, emphasizing generative AI’s pedagogical potential as a complementary tool while reaffirming the indispensable role of human expertise in maintaining linguistic accuracy, rigor, and academic standards.

Abstract

Although the Kirkpatrick model has been widely adopted to evaluate training effectiveness, its application has predominantly focused on post-training assessment rather than its strategic integration into planning, implementation, evaluation, and continuous improvement throughout the training management cycle. This study aimed to examine how the Kirkpatrick model functions as an integrated job training management framework for enhancing workforce readiness and organizational productivity at the Semarang Vocational Development and Productivity Center (BBPVP). A qualitative case study design was employed involving nine purposively selected participants. Data were collected through in-depth interviews, observations, and document analysis and analyzed using the Miles and Huberman interactive model with source triangulation to ensure credibility. The findings indicate that systematic industry-based planning, competency-based instructional implementation, and integrated multi-level evaluation collectively strengthened participant competencies, workplace readiness, and organizational productivity. However, several challenges remained, including variations in instructional quality, limited training facilities, fragmented evaluation systems, and insufficient post-training monitoring. The findings further reveal that the four Kirkpatrick levels function as interconnected managerial feedback mechanisms linking planning, instructional implementation, behavioral transfer, organizational outcomes, and continuous program improvement. This study reconceptualizes the Kirkpatrick model as an integrated vocational training management framework rather than merely a post-training evaluation model, thereby extending its theoretical application in Technical and Vocational Education and Training (TVET) and workforce development.

Abstract

The increasing trust of the Indonesian people in Islamic boarding schools as educational institutions is evidenced by the increasing number of students from 677 thousand in 1977 to 4.4 million in 2020. Unfortunately, the level of involvement of guardians/parents in their children's education is still minimal, resulting in less than optimal educational outcomes. Guardians/parents have also not aligned the education model at home with the vision of the Islamic boarding school when their children return home. The parenting modules available online are considered unsuitable for the ‘walisantri’ guidelines. Therefore, it is necessary to develop a parenting module that is suitable for them. This study was conducted to meet these needs. Based on a questionnaire distributed to Islamic boarding school administrators and ‘walisantri’ domiciled in West Java, it was found that there was a need for a parenting module for ‘walisantri’. The parenting module developed through R&D is specifically for junior high school students. This research and development use the ADDIE model with data collection techniques in the form of questionnaires distributed to Islamic boarding school administrators and ‘walisantri’ to ensure their needs for the module, as well as questionnaires for experts to assess the feasibility of the developed module. This study concludes that there is no parenting module in Islamic boarding schools and its existence is greatly needed by Islamic boarding school administrators throughout West Java and ‘walisantri’. Meanwhile, the developed module is very feasible according to experts to be used as a guideline by Islamic boarding school administrators and ‘walisantri’.
