Abstract

This research aimed to analyze the insertion of anti-corruption education in Islamic education. In the context of anti-corruption education, especially students in tertiary institutions, corrupt practices are manifested in the form of corrupt behavior, such as plagiarism, cheating, truancy, and hitchhiking in group assignments, even though they do not contribute. Anti-corruption education in Islamic education has so far used a dogmatic approach, not using an approach that has a transformative impact, especially neuroscience. In this case, Universitas Ahmad Dahlan, with lecturers who have special competence as anti-corruption trainers, has carried out anti-corruption education in various scientific fields, including Islamic education. This phenomenological type of qualitative research involved 52 students and six lecturers in the master study program of Islamic education. The results showed that anti-corruption education was carried out through insertion into all relevant subjects, especially the neuroscience of Islamic education. The lecturer investigates students' corrupt behavior in anticipation of future corruption crimes. The investigation results show that the most corrupt behavior of students is plagiarism, taking names in group assignments, and leaving absences with friends. The insertion of anti-corruption education with a neuroscience approach is applied in building integrity awareness that corrupt behavior is contrary to how the brain works and even has the potential to destroy reason.

Abstract

The character education development through hidden curriculum at disaster-prone schools possesses its own uniqueness with challenging complexity level. Amazing character education values should clash with appalling natural phenomenon. The objective of this research is to describe the character development through hidden curriculum in the volcanology disaster-prone area of Merapi mountain. This research was conducted on July-December 2017. Qualitative approach is utilized in this research. The data collection technique is performed using participants’ observation, in-depth interview, and documentation. The data analysis technique is performed descriptively, interpretatively and comparatively. The result of research indicates that (1) Muhammadyah Pakem Elementary School implements hidden curriculum related to character development, (2) The Hidden Curriculum is designed to develop character and instill disaster element because it is located in disaster-prone area, (3) the implementation of hidden curriculum concerning the disaster elements at school is able to provide knowledge and skill in early age related to disaster management to reduce the numbers of victims when the disaster occurs.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis pembelajaran bahasa Arab dengan pendekatan neurolinguistik di madrasah aliyah. Peserta didik kesulitan dalam memahami, menghafal, dan mempraktekkan mufrodat dan muhadatsah Bahasa Arab. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan studi kasus, dengan informan adalah kepala madrasah, wakil bidang kurikulum, dan guru Bahasa Arab. Data dikumpulkan dengan observasi dan wawancara mendalam. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa pendekatan neurolinguistik membantu peserta didik dalam memahami pembelajaran Bahasa Arab melalui fungsi otak pada bahasa. Optimalisasi sistem saraf pada bahasa mampu mengintegrasikan peran otak terhadap kemampuan belajar Bahasa Arab dalam aspek kognitf, afektif, dan psikomotorik. Pendekatan neurolinguistik memudahkan peserta didik dalam memahami mufrodat yakni dalam hal keterampilan qiro’ah, kitabah, istima’, dan kalam. Dengan demikian, pendekatan neurolinguistik sebagai alternatif pembelajaran Bahasa Arab dapat meningkatkan potensi peserta didik yang bertumpu pada otaknya. Pendekatan neurolinguistik akan berimplikasi luas terhadap diskursus pengembangan pembelajaran Bahasa Arab di masa revolusi industri 4.0

Abstract

Learning in Indonesia has been very less concerned with the condition of students, especially aspects of ergonomics that determine comfort, aesthetics and function. The research aims to analyze the design of neuroscience-based Islamic educational learning, which pays attention to the ergonomic dimensions of students when studying. This research approach is a qualitative type of literature. The source of this research data is the publication of both articles in journals and books indexed synta 1-6. Data collection techniques are carried out by tracing references in google scholar data base through keywords of learning design, Islamic education, neuroscience, posture and sitting position. The collected data is then analyzed descriptively which includes display, reduction, interpretation and meaning creativity. The results showed that so far learning has not been designed with attention to ergonomics and anthropometrics. Therefore the design of tables and chairs in learning should pay attention to ten anthropometric aspects, namely height, weight, body mass index, poplitea height, butt length, and hip width. This is necessary in order to produce an ideal or comfortable table and chair output for students in learning, so that it will not experience so-called back pain and spinal abnormalities. Pembelajaran di Indonesia selama ini sangat kurang memperhatikan kondisi dari siswa, khususnya aspek ergonomi yang menentukan kenyamanan, estetika dan fungsi. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis desain pembelajaran pendidikan Islam berbasis neurosains, yang memperhatikan dimensi ergonomi siswa ketika belajar. Pendekatan penelitian ini adalah kualitatif jenis kepustakaan. Sumber data penelitian ini merupakan publikasi baik artikel pada jurnal maupun buku yang terindeks sinta 1-6. Teknik pengumpulan data dilakukan dengan menelusuri referensi dalam data base google cendekia melalui kata kunci desain pembelajaran, ergonomi, neurosains, pendidikan Islam, postur tubuh. Data yang terkumpul kemudian dianalisis deskriptif yang meliputi display, reduksi, interpretasi dan meaning creativity. Hasil penelitian menunjukan bahwa selama ini pembelajaran belum didesain dengan memperhatikan ergonomi dan antropometrik. Oleh karena itu desain meja dan kursi dalam pembelajaran hendaknya memperhatikan sepuluh aspek antropometrik, yaitu tinggi badan, berat badan, indeks massa tubuh, tinggi poplitea, panjang pantat, dan lebar pinggul. Hal ini diperlukan agar bisa menghasilkan output meja dan kursi yang ideal atau nyaman digunakan untuk siswa dalam belajar, sehingga tidak akan mengalami yang namanya nyeri punggung dan kelainan tulang belakang.

Abstract

Education is very important in improving the quality of human resource. The quality of education is a hope and a dream for community. Total Quality Management can improve school performance if it is applied appropriately. This research aimed to find out the programming, implementation programs, and factors affecting the implementation of Total Quality Management. This research employed descriptive method with qualitative approach. Technique of data collection used was interview, observation, and documentation. The research subjects were principal, teachers, and staffs. The results showed that: (1) the Muhammadiyah Elementary School Bantul refer to the principles of Total Quality Management in programming. (2) The implementation of Total Quality Management involved all school elements. The beneficial implementation of Total Quality Management was to increase teachers’ performance in order to affect students’ achievement and school performance. (3) The factors affecting were motivating factor and inhibiting factor. Motivating factors include a good quality of teachers and principal, an adequate infrastructure, a high level of trust and public interest of parents and school committee. The inhibiting factors include inadequate human resources and the incompatibility of teachers and staff’s performance with Total Quality Management.

Abstract

To date, Islamic Education in Indonesia is framed in traditional, conventional, and colonial paradigms. Despite the twentieth century’s urges to use interdisciplinary, multidisciplinary, and trans-disciplinary approaches, mono-disciplinary approach such as classic and medieval Islamic education, is still dominating. Researches in the three new methods have engaged neuroscience that results in innovative and reliable works, indicated by the achievement of Intellectual Property Rights with downstreaming potentials. The study aims to find a model for Islamic education that is based on neuroscience in the millennial era with the mentioned attainment. The research applied a qualitative model by Denzin and was located in the Magister Degree of Islamic Education of Universitas Ahmad Dahlan, Yogyakarta, in 2008. It involved six lecturers and thirty-one students. The data were collected through participatory observation, in-depth interview, and documentation.The research generates a neuroscience-based model for Islamic education in the millennial era through the development of research-based instruction. Further, the development allows the achievement of Intellectual Property Rights and downstreaming potentials. The model is the continuation of Islamic education modernization initiated by Muhammad Abduh and is relevant to the entrepreneurship of the millennial Muslim generation of the twenty-first century.

Abstract

AbstractThe COVID-19 pandemic has caused the offline learning model to turn into online learning. Including learning Al-Qur'an Hadith at SMK Muhammadiyah 3 Yogyakarta is carried out online. This causes the teaching and learning process to be less focused on student learning. Learning Al-Qur'an Hadith is not yet relevant to Ibn Sina's concept of multilevel reasoning, and brain function (Neuroscience) on student learning. This study aims to find a learning model of Al-Quran Hadith during the COVID-19 period in the perspective of Ibn Sina's multilevel reasoning based on Neuroscience studies. This research is a field research with a descriptive qualitative approach. The technique of collecting data in this research is through the results of observations, interviews, and Documentation with the Principal, Deputy Head of Curriculum, Class Guardians, Educators, and Students of SMK Muhammadiyah 3 Yogyakarta. The results of the study prove that learning Al-Quran Hadith with a neuroscience-based Ibn Sina multilevel approach is able to understand the Qur'an theoretically and empirically, both theoretically (tajwid) and reading practice (tartil).Keywords: COVID-19; Ibn Sina's stratified intellect; Neuroscience; Students and teachers; Learning Al-Quran Hadith AbstrakPandemi COVID-19 merupakan penyebab model pembelajarin offline berubah menjadi pembelajaran secara online. Termasuk pembelajaran Al-Qur’an Hadits di SMK Muhammadiyah 3 Yogyakarta dilakukan secara daring. Hal demikian menyebabkan proses belajar mengajar kurang fokus terhadap belajar peserta didik. Pembelajaran Al-Qur’an Hadits belum relevan dengan konsep akal bertingkat Ibnu Sina, dan fungsi otak (Neurosains) terhadap belajar peserta didik. Penelitian ini bertujuan menemukan model pembelajaran Al-Quran Hadits dimasa COVID-19 dalam perspektif akal bertingkat Ibnu Sina berbasis kajian Neurosains. Penelitian ini merupakan Field Research (Studi Lapangan) dengan pendekatan kualitatif deskriftif. Teknik pengumpulan data penelitian ini melalui hasil observasi, wawancara, dan Dokumentasi Bersama Kepala Sekolah, Waka Kurikulum, Wali Kelas, Pendidik, serta Peserta didik SMK Muhammadiyah 3 Yogyakarta. Hasil penelitian membuktikan bahwa pembelajaran Al-Quran Hadits dengan pendekatan akal bertingkat ibnu Sina berbasis Neurosains mampu memahami Al-Qur’an secara teoritik dan emperik baik belajar secara teori (tajwid) maupun secara praktek bacaan (tartil). Kata Kunci: COVID-19; Akal bertingkat Ibnu Sina; Neurosains; Siswa dan guru; Pembelajaran Al-Quran Hadits

Abstract

Online learning in the midst of the COVID-19 pandemic was chosen to be a solution in replacing conventional learning which has had a serious impact on students. Limited internet access and the lack of creativity and innovation in the learning concept make students traumatized by education in undergoing the learning process. This paper wants to examine the impact of coercion in online learning during the COVID-19 pandemic as well as the impact on the brains of students. The research data comes from digital literature such as online news, journals, websites, and online documents. The collected data is then reduced and constructed into a new, whole and fresh concept. Data analysis was performed using content analysis that emphasizes intertextuality and meaning creativity. The results showed that the difficulties of online learning due to limited access and poor learning concepts created new problems for students, namely the weakening of student achievement. Students who are unable to access learning and understand learning material properly are not able to achieve competence. This condition will reduce the quality of education. Keywords: Online Learning, the impact of coercion, COVID-19, Islamic Education AbstrakPembelajaran daring di tengah pandemi COVID-19 dipilih menjadi solusi dalam menggantikan pembelajaran konvensional telah menimbulkan dampak serius bagi para peserta didik. Terbatasnya akses internet dan minimnya kreativitas dan inovasi dalam konsep pembelajaran membuat peserta didik menjadi trauma edukasi dalam menjalani proses pembelajaran. Tulisan ini ingin menguji seberapa besar dampak pemaksaan dalam pembelajaran daring selama masa pandemi COVID-19 serta dampak terhadap otak peserta didik. Data penelitian ini bersumber dari literatur digital seperti, berita online, jurnal, website, maupun dokumen-dokumen online. Data-data yang terkumpul, kemudian direduksi dan dikonstruksi menjadi konsep baru yang utuh dan fresh. Analisis data dilakukan dengan menggunakan analisis isi yang mengedepankan intertekstualitas dan meaning creativity. Hasil penelitian menujukkan bahwa kesulitan pembelajaran daring akibat keterbatasan akses dan konsep pembelajaran yang buruk menimbulkan masalah baru bagi para peserta didik yakni melemahnya prestasi belajar siswa. Siswa yang tidak mampu mengakses pembelajaran dan memahami materi pembelajaran dengan baik sama dengan tidak dapat mencapai kompetensi. Kondisi ini akan menurunkan mutu pendidikan. Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan menganalisis pendidikan karakter dalam perspektif neurosains. Hal ini dilatarbelakangi oleh bukti adanya hubungan yang tak terpisahkan antara otak dan karakter manusia. Oleh karena itu, pendidikan karakter sebenarnya tidak dapat dipisahkan dari organ penting manusia yang biasa disebut dengan otak. Penelitian ini merupakan studi kepustakaan dengan pendekatan kualitatif. Sumber data penelitian ini adalah berbagai literatur baik berasal dari buku maupun jurnal terkait dengan pendidikan karakter dan neurosains. Pengumpulan data dilakukan dengan penelusuran dan pembacaan referensi terkait baik secara manual maupun digital. Data yang terkumpul kemudian didisplay, direduksi, dan dikonstruksi menjadi konsep baru yang utuh. Analisis data dilakukan secara induktif dengan mengedepankan intelektualitas. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan otak manusia berfungsi mempengaruhi manusia dalam menjalankan aktivitasnya. Perilaku manusia dikontrol oleh sistem saraf dalam otak, sehingga seluruh aktivitasnya bermuara pada fungsi otaknya. Pendidikan karakter Islam menekankan pada proses pembentukan perilaku manusia yang baik (al-akhlaqul karimah) dan menjauhkan manusia dari perilaku buruk (al-akhlaqul madzmumah). Nilai-nilai karakter dalam pendidikan Islam didasarkan pada nilai-nilai kebaikan (ihsan) yang terkandung dalam Alquran dan hadis Nabi Muhammad saw. Kata kunci: Otak, pendidikan Islam, pendidikan karakter, neurosains. CHARACTER BRAIN IN ISLAMIC EDUCATION: CRITICAL ANALYSIS OF ISLAMIC CHARACTER EDUCATION BASED ON NEUROSAINS Abstract: This study aims to analyze character education in the neuroscience perspective. This is motivated by evidence of an inseparable relationship between the brain and human character. Therefore, character education actually cannot be separated from important human organs commonly called the brain. This research is a literature study with a qualitative approach. The data source of this research is a variety of literature both from books and journals related to character education and neuroscience. Data collection was done by searching and reading related references both manually and digitally. The collected data were then displayed, reduced, and constructed into a whole new concept. Data analysis was carried out inductively by promoting intellect. The results showed that the human brain functions were to influence humans in carrying out their activities. Human behavior is controlled by the nervous sistem in the brain, so that all of his activities lead to the functioning of the brain. Islamic character education emphasizes the process of forming good human behavior (al-akhlaqul karimah) and keeping people from bad behavior (al-akhlaqul madzmumah). Character values in Islamic education are based on the values of goodness (ihsan) contained in the Qur’an and the traditions of the Prophet Muhammad PBUH. Keywords: Brain, Islamic education, character education, neuroscience
