Abstract

The Allert Village is a village that has a Village Health Post or health professionals who are ready to carry out community empowerment, encourage health-oriented development, and be the first referral center for quality health services for the community and health emergencies in the Village. In moving towards the allert village, it is necessary to study various existing community-based activities such as posyandu, polindes, village medicine post, health fund, and inter-guard preparedness, as a starting point for development towards an allert village. One of the Allert Village programs currently being developed is the Blood Donor Allert Viilage. In this program, village communities are prepared to be responsive in dealing with health problems that require blood donors. The development of the Blood Donor Allert Village was initiated with outreach activities, data collection and examination of the blood group of residents in each hamlet. Data on residents' blood groups is then submitted to village midwives, sub-districts and health centers as a data base for the Blood Donor Allert Village. Blood group data collection for the residents of Manggong, one of the hamlets in Kepuharjo Village, obtained the following results: out of a total of 256 r esidents, 62.50% had their blood type recorded while 37.50% was not. As for the 62.50% of Dusun Manggong residents whose blood type was recorded, 26.87% had blood type A; 28.13% blood type B; 41.25% have blood type O and only 3.75% have blood type AB

Abstract

Thrombocyte concentrate transfusion was one of the important medical treatments in increasing the number of thrombocytes in patients with medical indications of thrombocytopenia. The monitoring of blood product quality from upstream to downstream must be considered in order to obtain a good quality thrombocyte concentrate. Thrombocyte concentrate was prone to change during storage due to significant changes between in vitro and in vivo conditions. The changes in thrombocyte concentrate quality that commonly occur during storage were the decreased platelet levels, increased of acidity (pH) and turbidity, and loss of thrombocyte swirling in the plasma. Therefore, it was necessary to conduct research to determine the quality of thrombocyte concentrates during the 5-day shelf life to find out whether at the end of the shelf life, these blood products were still suitable for transfusion to the patients. Several tools used in this study were Hematology Analyzer, blood scales, and pH meter. The results of successive studies showed that the thrombocyte concentrate product did not meet the basic quality standards because the number of thrombocytes per unit was below the standard that was set by Regulation of the Ministry of Health of the Republic of Indonesia Number 91 Years 2015.

Abstract

Alert village is a concept of empowerment and community participation at the village level, accompanied by the development of alertness and readiness of the community to maintain their health independently. Residents of Alert Village have the readiness of resources and the ability and willingness to independently prevent and overcome health problems, disasters and health emergencies. The blood donor alert village is expected to be able to accommodate health problems that arise in areas prone to natural disasters, if during a disaster there is the possibility of the route being cut off. The concept of Desa Siaga Donor is to build a system in a village that is responsible for maintaining community health at the village level, it is hoped that it will overcome problems related to maternal mortality so that it can be accommodated, especially those related to meeting the need for blood during childbirth. Collecting residents' blood type data as an initiation of the Village Alert Program for blood donors in Dusun Kaliadem, especially in fulfilling the need for blood during the delivery process. Community service through the Blood Donor Alert Village initiation activity in Kaliadem Hamlet, Kepuharjo Village, Cangkringan District, Sleman Regency involving 14 DIII students of Blood Bank Technology STIKes Guna Bangsa Yogyakarta by running the Donor Alert Village Initiation program. The total number of residents of Kaliadem Hamlet is 215 people, of which 48.83% have their blood type recorded while 51.16% are not recorded. The community empowerment program in Kaliadem Hamlet, Kepuharjo Village, Cangkringan District, Sleman Regency was carried out as part of the Blood Donor Alert Village Initiation Effort by carrying out health education activities as well as data collection and examination of people's blood groups in Kaliadem Hamlet. Based on the results of blood group checking, it was found that 34 residents had blood type A, 30 residents had blood type B, 5 residents had blood type AB and 36 residents had blood type O. Blood checking data for Kaliadem Hamlet residents will be the main data in the Donor Alert Village initiation. The blood group data of Kaliadem Hamlet residents then becomes part of the Kepuharjo Village database.

Abstract

Hemoglobin (Hb) is influenced by several factors, including unhealthy lifestyle, age, gender, food and drink. Hb binds and carries oxygen from the lungs to be distributed to all body tissues. Hb deficiency can cause anemia which can cause morbidity and mortality for sufferers. This research is to determine the risk factors for low hemoglobin levels in potential donors. This research method is descriptive observational.

Abstract

Hemoglobin is the main element of red blood cells that functions as a conjugated protein to transport oxygen and carbon dioxide. Hemoglobin levels below normal limits can cause anemia. Indonesia is one of the countries with a fairly high rate of anemia. Anemia is a common health problem among adolescent girls, mainly caused by iron deficiency which is triggered by menstruation and high nutritional needs. Currently, a non-pharmacological approach is an alternative to increase hemoglobin levels in adolescent girls, one of which is by consuming beetroot juice. Indonesia is one of the countries with relatively high anemia rates. Beetroot is rich in iron, folate, and vitamin C which can increase hemoglobin levels in the blood. The type of research used was a quasi-experimental study with a two-group pretest and posttest design, namely providing intervention by giving beetroot juice for 7 days in the morning to students in the eastern region who live in Condongcatur, Depok, Sleman, Yogyakarta. The results of this study were explained using SPSS with a Paired sample t-test with a p value <0.05 and obtained H0 = 0.024 and H7 = 0.001. This means that the sig value <0.05 indicates an effect on hemoglobin levels after the intervention. Before the intervention, the average was 11.1 gr/dl and after the intervention, the average was 12.8 gr/dl. These results indicate that consumption of beetroot juice can significantly increase hemoglobin levels in adolescent girls with anemia.
