Abstract

There are some similarities in views on marriage between Islam and Christianity, there are also several striking theological differences between the two religions. Some of the most striking differences concern the laws of marriage and divorce. The research was conducted using a descriptive method with a qualitative approach. Literature review was conducted on various academic sources, including books and journals discussing marriage in Islam and Christianity, as well as expositions of the text of Matthew 19:4-6. The results of the study indicate that the most striking difference between the theological views of Islam and Christianity is that the marriage bond is dissolvable in Islam but indissolvable in Christianity. Furthermore, Islam adheres to the ideal monogamy with the possibility of polygamy, while Christianity adheres to absolute monogamy.

Abstract

This study analyzes the ability of the Springate and Altman Z-Score methods in predicting financial distress in manufacturing companies listed on the Indonesia Stock Exchange (IDX) for the period 2018- 2022. Although the Indonesian capital market shows positive growth, external challenges such as global economic fluctuations and geopolitical pressures (The Perfect Storm) emphasize the importance of early detection of financial distress to prevent the risk of bankruptcy. This study uses an associative quantitative approach. The research sample consists of 75 financial reports from 15 manufacturing companies, selected through a purposive sampling technique over five years of observation. Data analysis involves descriptive statistics, normality tests, and hypothesis testing (F-Test and t-Test) using SPSS 23.0. The results of the hypothesis testing indicate that both the Springate and Altman Z-Score methods simultaneously and partially have a positive and significant effect in predicting financial distress in manufacturing companies on the IDX. However, based on the accuracy analysis (R-Square), the Springate model (S-Score) is proven to be superior with an accuracy level of 73% (or 73.7%), which is categorized as having very strong closeness. Meanwhile, the Altman Z-Score model had an accuracy rate of 42.3%, categorized as having a strong correlation. The superior accuracy of the Springate model is supported by the use of the Earnings Before Taxes to Current Liabilities (EBTCL) ratio, which is considered more representative. This study concluded that the Springate method was the most accurate model in predicting financial distress in manufacturing companies on the Indonesian Stock Exchange (IDX).

Abstract

The growing presence of digital media has transformed how adolescents interact, construct values, and engage with their social environment. TikTok, as one of the most popular platforms among Indonesian youth, plays a central role in shaping contemporary digital culture. This study examines how TikTok influences adolescents’ social interactions, moral values, and awareness of social issues in Maccini Parang, Makassar. Using a quantitative descriptive approach, data were collected through a structured questionnaire distributed to adolescent respondents who actively use TikTok. The instrument measured perceptions related to patterns of social interaction, moral considerations, and behavioral responses to content encountered on the platform. Descriptive statistical analysis was employed to identify dominant tendencies and variations in responses. The findings indicate that most adolescents engage intensively with TikTok and are frequently exposed to content they perceive as distracting or inappropriate, such as non-educational material, sensational trends, and morally questionable behavior. Despite this exposure, the results also show that many adolescents demonstrate a degree of critical awareness and self-regulation by selectively filtering content they consider negative or irrelevant. While some respondents acknowledged that TikTok influences their real-life decisions and moral perspectives, others maintained that their values remain largely shaped by family, school, and community norms. These findings suggest that TikTok’s influence on youth development is neither uniform nor deterministic but mediated by adolescents’ agency and local socio-cultural contexts. This study contributes to discussions on digital culture and youth development by offering localized empirical insights into how adolescents negotiate digital influences within everyday social life.
