Abstract

Abstract: The purpose of this study was  to determine the effect of the learning models on the learning achievement in mathematics viewed from the students’ multiple intelligences. The learning models compared were the cooperative learning of the three steps interview (TSI) type with scientific approach, think pair share (TPS) model type with scientific approach, and classical learning with  scientific approach. The type of this study was quasi experimental study with a 3x3 factorial design. The population was all grade 8 students of Secondary Schools in Sukoharjo Regency. Instruments used for data collection were mathematics achievement test and multiple intelligences questionnaire. The data analysis technique used was the two-way ANOVA with unequal cell. Based on the hipothesis, the results of the study could be concluded as follows. (1) TSI with scientific approach got better learning achievement than TPS with scientific approach and classical with scientific approach. In addition, TPS with scientific approach got better learning achievement than classical with scientific approach. (2) Students with logical mathematical intelligence got better achievement than students with linguistic intelligence and students with interpersonal intelligence, students with linguistic intelligence got better achievement than students with interpersonal intelligence. (3) Viewed from learning models, students with logical mathematical intelligence got better achievement than students with linguistic intelligence and students with interpersonal intelligence. However, students with linguistic intelligence got better achievement than students with interpersonal intelligence. (4) Viewed multiple intelligences’ categories, TSI model with scientific approach got better achievement than TPS with scientific approach and classical with scientific approach. However, TPS with scientific approach got better achievement than classical with scientific approach.Keywords: Three Steps Interview (TSI), Think Pair Share (TPS), Classical Learning, Scientific Approach, and Multiple Intelligences.

Abstract

Salah satu perkembangan teknologi untuk memudahkan pembelajaran adalah Moodle. Namun, kesulitan mengelola moodle sering dirasakan. Pada mata kuliah geometri misalnya, dosen merasa waktu yang digunakan untuk menginput soal yang berisi rumus matematika dan gambar cukup lama dan kurang efektif. ExamView merupakan aplikasi yang diprediksi dapat menjadi solusi permasalahan tersebut. Subyek penelitian deskripsi kualitatif ini yaitu dosen yang menggunakan aplikasi ExamView. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan aplikasi ExamView dapat membantu dosen dalam menginput soal khususnya soal pilihan ganda yang karakternya berupa soal dengan banyak rumus dan soal bergambar. Penggunaan ExamView cocok untuk kelas paralel yang didukung oleh beberapa dosen. Dosen hanya perlu mengimpor soal dalam format ZIP dari ExamView dan tidak perlu melakukan input manual untuk setiap kelas. ExamView dapat dijadikan alternatif bagi dosen dalam menyusun soal-soal ujian di kelas paralel karena dosen tinggal mengunggah dan mengaturnya di Moodle. One technological development to facilitate learning is Moodle. However, difficulties in managing Moodle are often felt. In geometry courses, for example, lecturers think that the time spent inputting questions containing mathematical formulas and pictures is quite long and less effective. ExamView is an application that is predicted to be a solution to this problem. The subjects of this qualitative descriptive research are lecturers who use the ExamView application. The research results show that the ExamView application can help lecturers in input questions, especially multiple-choice questions characterized by questions with lots of formulas and pictorial questions. The use of ExamView is suitable for parallel classes supported by several lecturers. Lecturers only need to import questions in ZIP format from ExamView and do not need to do manual input for each class. ExamView can be an alternative for lecturers to compie exam questions in parallel classes because lecturers need to upload and organize them in Moodle.

Abstract

This research was motivated by students' low mathematical connections and lack of knowledge about the local culture around where they live. This research aims to develop a student digital worksheet using the concepts of ethnomathematics and Realistic Mathematics Education following  the ADDIE procedure. A number of 30 students of year five in a primary school in Kudus District, Province of Central Java, Indonesia, involved in the study. The learning material used the local cultural object namely Menara Kudus. This bulding is part of muslim gathering venue and known its adaptation to the Hinduism as it was built during the era. A digital worksheet is defined as a set learning activity that can be accessed using electronic gadgets, like computer or smartphone. Validation of the development resutls included experts and students to collect data on the feasibility assessment of the digital worksheet which consists of assessments by material experts and media experts. In addition, the use of web based interactive worksheets at Menara Kudus based on Ethno–RME shows a significant increase in students' mathematical connections. This means that the Ethno–RME based Digital worksheet at the Menara Kudus was declared feasible and can be used in mathematics learning.

Abstract

The research was conducted to improve mathematical literacy skills in the content of the growth phenomenon in class VIII C MTs Miftahul Huda through the development of learning videos based on the collaborative metacognition learning model assisted by CapCut. The research method used is the Research and Development Plomp model through three phases, namely preliminary analysis, prototyping, and assessment. Preliminary analysis produces the need for packaging mathematics learning that can invite students to understand mathematics material easily and solve contextual problems appropriately, so that students' mathematical literacy skills can be improved. Prototyping is carried out by designing a learning video that contains a video opening, problem presentation, problem solving, mathematical concept discovery, and video closing. The assessment was carried out by means of feasibility tests, practicality tests, and learning video effectiveness tests. The results of the video feasibility test from media experts were 0.97 and material experts were 0.97 which stated that they were very valid (feasible). Students rated the videos as very easy to use, useful, engaging, and encouraged metacognitive (practical) activities. Students' mathematical literacy increased in the medium category after using learning videos based on the collaborative metacognition learning model. Students need to get used to building mathematical concepts through contextual problem-solving even though their application takes a relatively long time. On this basis, advanced researchers need to consider the advantages of online learning that provide students with learning flexibility in building their mathematical understanding.

Abstract

Indonesian students' mathematical literacy skills were categorized as low based on the results of the 2022 PISA test. This can be improved by providing students with mathematical literacy-based learning. Previous studies have shown that the majority of educators are familiar with mathematical literacy, but are unable to design learning that includes mathematical literacy. Based on this condition, a mathematical literacy-based learning tool was developed to support the improvement of students' mathematical literacy skills. Three learning tools were developed: a teaching module, a worksheet, and summative mathematical literacy questions. These three learning tools were developed using the RND method and the 4D model. Based on validity testing by two experts using V-Aiken, the results were 0.97 for the teaching module, 0.93 for the worksheet, and 0.95 for the summative mathematical literacy test questions, all of which were declared very valid. Meanwhile, based on the practicality test, an average score of 95% was obtained for the teaching module, 95% for the student worksheet, and 94% for the summative mathematical literacy test questions. All three were declared highly practical. Because the learning tools have been declared highly valid and highly practical, the learning tools developed can be implemented in the learning process.

Abstract

Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui perbedaan kemampuan penyelesaian pembuktian pada matakuliah logika matematika pada masing-masing tingkat kecemasan matematika, kecerdasan matematis logis, dan kecerdasan spiritual. Sampel diambil secara random menggunakan teknik cluster random sampling. Sampel terdiri dari tiga puluh lima mahasiswa di kelas A . Instrument yang digunakan untuk mengumpulkan data adalah tes kecerdasan matematis logis dan tes penyelesaian pembuktian, serta angket kecemasan matematika mahasiswa dan angket kecerdasan matematis logis. Hasil penelitian dapat disimpulkan sebagai berikut. (1) Secara simultan kecemasan matemartika, kecerdasan matematis logis, dan kecerdasan spiritual memiliki hubungan yang signifikan dengan penyelesaian pembuktian serta memberikan kontribusi sebesar 98,2%. (2) Terdapat perbedaan kemampuan penyelesaian pembuktian yang signifikan pada setiap tingkat kecemasan matematika mahasiswa. (3) Terdapat perbedaan kemampuan penyelesaian pembuktian yang signifikan pada setiap tingkat kecerdasan matematis logis mahasiswa. (4) Terdapat perbedaan kemampuan penyelesaian pembuktian yang signifikan pada setiap tingkat kecerdasan spiritual mahasiswa.

Abstract

Pembelajaran matematika di sekolah menengah yang kurang kontekstual menyebabkan beberapa siswa mengalami kesulitan dalam memahami konsep, termasuk konsep bangun ruang. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengembangkan media Comic-LKPD berbasis Realistic Mathematics Education (RME) dengan pendekatan Iceberg untuk meningkatkan pemahaman konsep bangun ruang siswa. Metode yang digunakan adalah penelitian dan pengembangan (R&D) dengan model ADDIE yang meliputi tahap Analysis, Design, Development, Implementation, dan Evaluation. Kualitas media diuji berdasarkan aspek kevalidan, kepraktisan, dan keefektifan. Penelitian ini melibatkan 35 siswa kelas IX MTs yang dipilih secara cluster random sampling. Uji kevalidan menggunakan indeks V-Aiken, kepraktisan dianalisis secara deskriptif kuantitatif, dan keefektifan diuji dengan paired sample t-test. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa media Comic-LKPD valid, sangat praktis, dan efektif meningkatkan pemahaman konsep, ditunjukkan oleh p-value < 0,05 dan N-Gain kategori sedang. Media ini mampu menciptakan pembelajaran yang kontekstual, menarik, dan menyenangkan. Dengan demikian, Comic-LKPD berbasis RME dengan pendekatan Iceberg valid, praktis, dan efektif digunakan dalam meningkatkan pemahaman konsep. Penelitian lanjutan disarankan untuk mengembangkan media serupa pada materi matematika lainnya atau dalam bentuk digital interaktif guna memperluas penerapannya.

Abstract

Education is a key foundation for holistic student development, encompassing both academic achievement and character building. Among internal factors, self-confidence plays a crucial role in achieving optimal learning outcomes and overcoming challenges, including solving problems on the System of Linear Equations in Three Variables (SLETV). This study aims to analyze the influence of self-confidence on students’ learning outcomes in solving SLETV problems. A quantitative correlational design was employed, involving 30 grade X students at SMA Hidayatul Mustafidin selected through random sampling. Data were collected using a self-confidence questionnaire and an essay test on SLETV, and analyzed through simple linear regression. The results show that self-confidence has a substantial and significant effect on learning outcomes (R² = 0.898), indicating that self-confidence contributes substantially, although other factors also influence achievement. The regression equation obtained is Y = -4.070 + 1.068X. These findings highlight the importance of fostering students’ self-confidence in mathematics learning, particularly in SLETV, as a means to enhance problem-solving performance and overall academic success.
