Abstract

Abstract: The purpose of this study was to determine the effect of learning models on learning achievement viewed from the logical mathematical intelligence of the students. The learning models compared were the cooperative learning model of the Numbered Heads Together (NHT) type modified with Quantum Learning and scientific approach, Think Pair Share (TPS) type with Quantum Learning and scientific approach, and classical model with scientific approach. The type of this study was a quasi-experimental research with a 3×3 factorial design. The population was all of students on grade VIII of Junior High Schools in Magelang Regency in academic year 2014/2015. The data was analyzed by using two way analysis of variance with unbalanced cells. Based on the hypothesis, the results of the study could be summarized as follows. (1) NHT-Quantum Learning gave better achievement than TPS-Quantum Learning and classical model, TPS-Quantum Learning had same achievement as classical model. (2) Students with high logical mathematical intelligence gave better achievement than middle and low logical mathematical intelligence, students who had middle logical mathematical intelligence gave better achievement than those who had low logical mathematical intelligence. (3) In each category of the logical mathematical intelligence, NHT-Quantum Learning gave better achievement than TPS-Quantum Learning and classical model, TPS-Quantum Learning had same achievement as classical model. (4) In each of the learning models, the students who had high logical mathematical intelligence got better achievement than middle and low logical mathematical intelligence, the students who had middle logical mathematical intelligence got better achievement than those who had low logical mathematical intelligence.Keywords: Numbered Heads Together, Think Pair Share, Classical, Quantum Learning, Logical Mathematical Intelligence.

Abstract

Mathematics becomes one of many subjects which shows low student engagement. This paper aims to understand students’ attitudes toward school and mathematics, the impact of student behavioral engagement, influential factors, obstacles in promoting student behavioral engagement, and how to promote student behavioral engagement. Students’ interests of school decrease in high school. Behavioral engagement impacts academic achievement, meaning of learning, and self-esteem. Influential factors of student behavioral engagement are motivation, the role of parents and teachers, and peer support. Obstacles in promoting student behavioral engagement are building intrinsic motivation, teachers’ beliefs about student behavioral engagement, and parental styles. Some ways to promote student behavioral engagement are using various teaching method, keeping optimal learning environment, and focusing on peer. Conclusion and suggestion emphasize on the role of teachers in their authority in the class and cooperate with parents.

Abstract

Esensi Matematika merupakan mata kuliah yang diberikan kepada seluruh mahasiswa fakultas ilmu pendidikan di Universitas Pelita Harapan. Mata kuliah ini biasanya diberikan kepada mahasiswa pada tahun pertama memasuki perkuliahan. Tidak seperti matematika di SMA yang berfokuskan pada content atau isi materi pelajaran saja maka pada matakuliah ini kita dapat melihat keunikan serta keagungan Tuhan mengenai karya-karyaNya di dalam matematika. Permasalahan yang seringkali dihadapi oleh mahasiswa yang sudah mengambil matakuliah ini adalah mahasiswa mengaku belum terbiasa dengan materinya. Hal ini yang mengakibatkan nilai UTS nya menjadi rendah. Pada penelitian ini digunakan design penelitian menggunakan Task Design dengan menggunakan kerangka metodologi penelitian Didactic Engineering (DE). Pemilihan design penelitian ini adalah karena esensi matematika tidak hanya menekankan content pembelajaran saja. Maka dari itu, diperlukan suatu design pembelajaran yang didalamnya mencakup soal-soal, tugas-tugas serta materi-materi di dalamnya yang dapat juga mengukur kemampuan pemahaman mahasiswa FIP dalam belajar esensi matematika. Dengan design pembelajaran yang ada, dosen sebagai pengajar dapat memiliki suatu rangkaian pembelajaran yang bermakna selain itu juga mampu membantu mahasiswa dalam mengatasi hasil pembelajaran menjadi lebih baik lagi. Design dalam penelitian ini belum terlaksana sepenuhnya, maka dapat menjadi saran untuk penelitian selanjutnya untuk dapat melengkapinya.ABSTRACTMathematics essence is a course given to all of Teachers College students at UPH. This course is usually given to students in the first year of entering the College. Students problem who have taken this course is the low score of the middle test. The purpose of this article is to describe task design development which used to solve the student learning difficulties in learning mathematics essence. This study used a research design-Task Design within the framework of the Didactic Engineering (DE) research methodology. The selection of this research design is because the mathematics essence is a subject that can invite students to be able to see the beauty of God's creation. Therefore, we need a learning design that includes questions, assignments, and materials which can measure students' understanding ability. The sampling technique is done purposively, namely students who get the essence of mathematics courses. With the existing learning design, lecturers as facilitators can have a meaningful learning sequence while also being able to assist students in overcoming learning outcomes for the better. The results show that task design needs to be developed by referring to learning modules, assignments, practice questions that need to integrate for daily life and to applicate in the middle test using Moodle.

Abstract

Aspek afektif sering kali terlewatkan dalam proses pembelajaran, salah satunya adalah kedisiplinan. Kedisiplinan berdampak signifikan pada pertumbuhan siswa dan pencapaian tujuan pembelajaran. Diperlukan peran guru sebagai fasilitator dan penuntun melalui pemilihan model pembelajaran yang dapat mendorong kedisiplinan siswa. Model pembelajaran yang dinilai tepat dalam mendorong kedisiplinan adalah jigsaw. Penelitian ini bertujuan mengetahui dan memaparkan bagaimana model jigsaw dalam mendorong kedisiplinan siswa. Metode yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah metode penelitian deskriptif kualitatif. Subjek penelitian ini yaitu 23 siswa kelas 2 SMA pada salah satu sekolah di Karawaci. Masalah kedisiplinan yang diteliti berupa keterlambatan pengumpulan tugas, tidak memberikan perhatian, dan sebagainya yang bertentangan dengan indikator kedisiplinan. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan adanya perkembangan skor kedisiplinan sebesar dari masa observasi ke penerapan kedua sehingga disimpulkan bahwa jigsaw dapat mendorong kedisiplinan siswa melalui berbagai langkah penerapan yang mampu mendorong setiap indikator kedisiplinan. Affective aspects are often overlooked in the learning process, one of which is discipline. Discipline has a significant impact on student growth and achievement of learning goals. The role of teacher is needed as a facilitator and guide through the selection of learning models that can encourage student discipline. The learning model that is considered appropriate for encouraging discipline is the jigsaw. This study aims to find out and explain how the jigsaw model encourages student discipline. The method used in this research is the descriptive qualitative research method. The subjects of this study were 23 grade 2 high school students at a school in Karawaci. The discipline problems studied were delays in submitting assignments, not paying attention, and so on which conflicted with disciplinary indicators. The results of the study showed that there was a development of a 25% discipline score from the observation period to the second application so it was concluded that the jigsaw could encourage student discipline through various implementation steps that were able to encourage each discipline indicator.

Abstract

Kesulitan siswa dalam pembelajaran matematika sering terlihat dari kesalahan dalam menyelesaikan soal. Kesalahan umum meliputi kesalahan konsep, prosedural, dan incidental. Guru berperan penting dalam membantu siswa memperbaiki kesalahan ini dengan memberikan umpan balik yang korektif, informatif, dan spesifik. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengevaluasi apakah umpan balik dapat membantu siswa memperbaiki kesalahan matematika dan menjelaskan cara guru memberikan umpan balik. Metode penelitian yang digunakan adalah deskriptif kualitatif dengan 25 responden siswa kelas XII di sebuah sekolah swasta di Jakarta. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa umpan balik efektif dalam membantu siswa mengidentifikasi dan memperbaiki kesalahan mereka, serta memotivasi mereka untuk belajar dari kesalahan. Guru bertanggung jawab untuk memberikan umpan balik secara individual, menggunakan penskoran, rubrik, atau refleksi siswa, untuk memastikan siswa memiliki pemahaman yang benar dan mampu belajar dari kesalahan mereka. Students' difficulties in learning mathematics are often evident from their errors in solving math problems. Common errors include conceptual, procedural, and incidental mistakes. Teachers play a crucial role in helping students correct these errors by providing corrective, informative, and specific feedback. This paper aims to evaluate whether feedback can help students improve their math problem-solving skills and to explain how teachers provide this feedback. The research method used is descriptive qualitative, with 25 twelfth-grade students from a private school in Jakarta as respondents. The study results indicate that feedback effectively helps students identify and correct their mistakes and motivates them to learn from these errors. Teachers are responsible for providing individual feedback using scoring, rubrics, or student reflections to ensure students have the correct understanding and learn from their mistakes.

Abstract

Salah satu perkembangan teknologi untuk memudahkan pembelajaran adalah Moodle. Namun, kesulitan mengelola moodle sering dirasakan. Pada mata kuliah geometri misalnya, dosen merasa waktu yang digunakan untuk menginput soal yang berisi rumus matematika dan gambar cukup lama dan kurang efektif. ExamView merupakan aplikasi yang diprediksi dapat menjadi solusi permasalahan tersebut. Subyek penelitian deskripsi kualitatif ini yaitu dosen yang menggunakan aplikasi ExamView. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan aplikasi ExamView dapat membantu dosen dalam menginput soal khususnya soal pilihan ganda yang karakternya berupa soal dengan banyak rumus dan soal bergambar. Penggunaan ExamView cocok untuk kelas paralel yang didukung oleh beberapa dosen. Dosen hanya perlu mengimpor soal dalam format ZIP dari ExamView dan tidak perlu melakukan input manual untuk setiap kelas. ExamView dapat dijadikan alternatif bagi dosen dalam menyusun soal-soal ujian di kelas paralel karena dosen tinggal mengunggah dan mengaturnya di Moodle. One technological development to facilitate learning is Moodle. However, difficulties in managing Moodle are often felt. In geometry courses, for example, lecturers think that the time spent inputting questions containing mathematical formulas and pictures is quite long and less effective. ExamView is an application that is predicted to be a solution to this problem. The subjects of this qualitative descriptive research are lecturers who use the ExamView application. The research results show that the ExamView application can help lecturers in input questions, especially multiple-choice questions characterized by questions with lots of formulas and pictorial questions. The use of ExamView is suitable for parallel classes supported by several lecturers. Lecturers only need to import questions in ZIP format from ExamView and do not need to do manual input for each class. ExamView can be an alternative for lecturers to compie exam questions in parallel classes because lecturers need to upload and organize them in Moodle.

Abstract

During the Covid-19 pandemic, learning was carried out online. It takes student activeness with the right approach and method to provide maximal learning experiences and learning outcomes. The purpose of this paper is to describe the application of the facilitated e-learning approach combined with the 5E method on student activeness in learning. This paper used the descriptive qualitative research method. Students are imagebearers of God so a teacher should view students as special and valuable. Students have reason and ability so it can be said that they are active individuals. Therefore, a teacher should always encourage their activiteness during the learning process. Implementing the facilitated e-learning approach with the 5E method is the right solution because the students carry out learning activities independently with the teacher in the role of facilitator.  This has the potential to encourage student activeness in online learning so that students can get the maximum learning experience and learning outcomes and teachers can provide God-centered learning. In applying these approaches and methods, a teacher needs careful and measured preparation in order to provide the maximum learning experience even though it is carried out online.BAHASA INDONESIA ABSTRACT: Selama pandemi covid-19, pembelajaran dilaksanakan secara daring. Dibutuhkan keaktifan siswa dengan pendekatan dan metode yang tepat untuk tetap memberikan pengalaman belajar dan hasil belajar yang maksimal. Tujuan penulisan dari penelitian ini untuk memaparkan penerapan pendekatan facilitated e-learning dikolaborasikan dengan metode 5E terhadap keaktifan siswa dalam pembelajaran. Penelitian ini disusun dengan metode penelitian kualitatif deskriptif. Hasil pembahasan dari penelitian, siswa merupakan gambar dan rupa Allah sehingga seorang guru hendaknya memandang siswa istimewa dan berharga. Siswa memiliki akal dan kemampuan sehingga siswa dapat dikatakan sebagai pribadi yang aktif. Maka dari itu, seorang guru hendaknya dapat selalu mendorong keaktifan siswa dalam proses pembelajaran. Kesimpulannya, menerapkan pendekatan facilitated e-learning dengan metode 5E merupakan solusi yang tepat karena siswa melakukan aktivitas pembelajaran secara mandiri dengan guru memiliki peran sebagai fasilitator yang berpotensi mendorong keaktifan siswa dalam pembelajaran daring sehingga siswa dapat mendapatkan pengalaman belajar dan hasil belajar yang maksimal serta guru dapat memberikan pembelajaran yang berpusat pada Allah. Disarankan seorang guru dalam menerapkan pendekatan dan metode tersebut perlu memberikan persiapan yang matang dan terukur agar dapat memberikan pengalaman belajar yang maksimal meskipun dilaksanakan secara daring.

Abstract

Based on observation at XYZ Christian School in Tangerang, there are some students in grade 9 who showed less disciplined behavior in school, especially during math classes. Less disciplined students exhibit less motivated attitudes during classroom learning. This study aims to determine whether learning motivation correlates to learning discipline. This type of research is correlational research with a quantitative approach. The research instrument was a questionnaire. The population in this research is all grade 9 students at XYZ Christian School. Data were analyzed through using Pearson Product Moment Correlation to obtain a correlation coefficient between learning motivation and learning discipline. The analysis obtained a correlation coefficient of 0.731 that shows there is a strong positive relationship between learning motivation and learning discipline. The research concluded that the higher the learning motivation, the higher the learning discipline.ABSTRAK BAHASA INDONESIA: Berdasarkan pengamatan yang dilakukan di Sekolah Kristen XYZ di Tangerang, ada beberapa siswa kelas IX yang kurang disiplin dalam perilaku di sekolah, terkhusus saat pembelajaran matematika. Siswa yang kurang disiplin menunjukkan sikap kurang termotivasi selama pembelajaran di kelas. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui ada tidaknya hubungan yang signifikan dan bagaimana hubungan antara motivasi belajar dengan disiplin belajar siswa kelas IX. Jenis penelitian ini adalah penelitian korelasional dengan pendekatan kuantitatif. Instrumen yang digunakan adalah kuesioner. Populasi pada penelitian ini adalah seluruh siswa kelas IX di Sekolah Kristen XYZ. Data dianalisis menggunakan Pearson Product Moment Correlation untuk mendapatkan koefisien korelasi antara motivasi belajar dengan disiplin belajar. Hasil analisis memperoleh koefisien korelasi 0.731 yang menunjukkan bahwa ada hubungan positif yang kuat antara motivasi belajar dan disiplin belajar. Hasil penelitian menyimpulkan bahwa semakin tinggi motivasi belajar semakin tinggi pula disiplin dalam belajar.

Abstract

Statistics is a course that correlates very closely in everyday life. An elementary school teacher needs to master statistics in relation to the implementation of the duties of a teacher, both as a collector and conveyer of information about students, as well as a researcher. But in reality, quite a lot of PGSD (Primary Teacher Education) students have difficulties in this course. One of them can be seen from how students answer questions given. There are still quite a lot of students who make mistakes in answering statistical research educational questions. This research is a descriptive study that describes and analyzes the mistakes of PGSD students in solving the problems of Statistics for Research in Education using the Newman procedure. The results of the study show that mistakes made by students include errors in understanding problems, transformation errors, errors in process skills, and answers to writing errors. One effort that can be done is by increasingBAHASA INDONESIA ABSTRACT: Statistika merupakan mata kuliah yang korelasinya sangat erat dalam kehidupan sehari-hari. Seorang guru sekolah dasar perlu menguasai statistika dalam kaitan dengan pelaksanaan tugas seorang guru, baik sebagai pengumpul dan penyampai informasi tentang siswa, maupun sebagai seorang peneliti. Namun kenyataannya, cukup banyak mahasiswa PGSD yang kesulitan dalam mata kuliah ini. Salah satunya dapat dilihat dari bagaimana cara mahasiswa menjawab soal yang diberikan. Masih ditemukan cukup banyak mahasiswa yang melakukan kesalahan dalam menjawab soal statistika penelitian pendidikan. Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian deskriptif yang memaparkan dan menganalisis kesalahan mahasiswa PGSD dalam menyelesaikan soal Statistika Penelitian Pendidikan ditinjau dari prosedur Newman. Hasil penelitian memperlihatkan bahwa kesalahan yang dilakukan mahasiswa mencakup kesalahan memahami masalah, kesalahan transformasi, kesalahan dalam keterampilan proses, dan kesalahan penulisan jawaban. Salah satu upaya yang dapat dilakukan adalah dengan cara meningkatkan kemampuan metakognitif mahasiswa.

Abstract

The low level of mathematical disposition ability of the students in one of the Junior High Schools in Palembang became a special matter during the field experience. It was found that the average percentage of students' mathematical disposition ability was 53.01% in the moderate category. In addition, there were students who had a view of mathematics as a difficult and unpleasant science. In fact, mathematical disposition has a great influence on students' mathematics learning and achievement. Moreover, it will help students to see the beauty of God's creation through mathematics if they have a good mathematical disposition. This makes the Indonesian Realistic Mathematics Approach (PMRI) an alternative solution to the problem of mathematical disposition. The purpose of writing this thesis was to find out whether the application of PMRI could develop the disposition ability of algebra material and to describe the application of PMRI in developing the mathematical disposition ability of students in algebra material using a descriptive qualitative method. The results and conclusions of this paper show that the students' mathematical disposition ability after the application of PMRI increased with an average percentage result to 61.48% in the good category. The increase was caused by the mathematical disposition indicators that were refined in all PMRI syntax. Thus, these indicators can be refined in any syntax. Reflecting on the application of PMRI, it is suggested that the application can be done more than twice and use physical learning media.BAHASA INDONESIA ABSTRACT: Rendahnya kemampuan disposisi matematis siswa di salah satu SMP di Palembang menjadi perhatian khusus saat dilakukannya praktik pengalaman lapangan. Didapatkan rata-rata persentase kemampuan disposisi matematis siswa berada pada 53,01% dengan kategori cukup. Ditambah lagi terdapat siswa yang memiliki pandangan terhadap matematika sebagai suatu ilmu yang sulit dan tidak menyenangkan. Padahal, disposisi matematis sangat berpengaruh terhadap pembelajaran matematika dan prestasi siswa. Apalagi, dengan baiknya disposisi matematis siswa, maka akan mendukung mereka memandang indahnya ciptaan Tuhan melalui matematika. Hal ini menjadikan Pendekatan Matematika Realistik Indonesia (PMRI) menjadi alternatif solusi terhadap permasalahan disposisi matematis. Tujuan dari penelitian adalah untuk mengetahui apakah penerapan PMRI dapat mengembangkan kemampuan disposisi materi aljabar dan mendeskripsikan penerapan PMRI dalam mengembangkan kemampuan disposisi matematis siswa pada materi aljabar dengan menggunakan metode kualitatif deskriptif. Hasil dan simpulan penulisan ini menunjukkan bahwa kemampuan disposisi matematis siswa setelah PMRI diterapkan mengalami peningkatan dengan rata-rata hasil persentase menjadi 61,48% dengan kategori baik. Hasil persentase yang meningkat ini disebabkan oleh indikator disposisi matematis yang terdapat pada keseluruhan sintaks PMRI. Dengan demikian, indikator-indikator tersebut dapat terasah di setiap sintaks. Berkaca dari penerapan PMRI ini, disarankan agar penerapannya dapat dilakukan lebih dari dua kali dan menggunakan media pembelajaran fisik.
