Abstract

Tuberculosis (TB) is a disease caused by the bacterium Mycobacterium tuberculosis. TB cases in West Java reaching 127,000 for 2019 . Spatial analysis using Geographic Information System (GIS) has been used in the health sector. GIS spatial analysis can identify the distribution and clustering of disease cases, and high-risk areas. Provides an overview of the distribution of age, gender and demographic patterns of residence based on the results of the BTA examination at the Babelan I Health Center. This type of research is a descriptive analytic study with a cross sectional design using GIS assistance to obtain a description of the spatial distribution of residential demographics. The research sample was all cases of Pulmonary TB registered with TB.03 in the TB Program unit at the Babelan I Health Center in January 2020 - December 2020. The results of the analysis of the age variable showed that of the 66 research respondents, most of them were elderly with an age range of 46 years to 65 years. by 43.9% (29 respondents), the sex variable of TB patients was mostly male with a percentage of 66.7% (44 respondents), bacteriological examination on AFB examination in cases of cough >2 weeks was found to be 83.1% (54 respondents), and the pattern of demographic distribution is mostly in Kebalen village at 40.9% (27 respondents). Abstract

Pond waters are one of the lands that can be used to improve the economic sector. The decline in pond water quality is caused by many factors including water sources, weather influences, treatment errors in the use of several treatments such as feed, fertilizer and so on. Pollutants in pond waters can affect the quality of the organisms that are kept in them, among others, can cause physiological and anatomical disturbances, thereby reducing protein levels in fish and shrimp muscles. One of the steps to determine the quality of pond water is feasible or not is to conduct a waste quality analysis using chemical indicators including BOD and COD. This type of research uses laboratory observation. Sampling was carried out at 3 stations on pond water in Village X Bekasi, using the Judgment or purposive Sampling method. The results showed that the BOD and COD values ​​in pond water in Village X Bekasi had exceeded the water threshold based on the class III water quality standard (PPRI No. 82/2001), for the BOD level the average value was 711 mg/L and the COD value averaged. an average of 10,150 mg/L.

(pp. 762–767).  Palembang: Penerbit & Percetakan Universitas Sriwijaya (UNSRI).Flies are insects that can recognize colors due to their phototropic nature, making them sensitive to specific wavelengths of light. This study aimed to evaluate the effect of various shades of purple on fly attraction. This research employed a quantitative experimental design with a post-test-only control group approach. The results indicated findings revealed a statistically significant difference between the light magenta and dark purple fly grill variations (p-value = 0.018; MD = 12.27500). The highest average fly density was found on the light magenta fly grill with 30.75 flies/block, followed by the light purple with 25 flies/block, and the lowest on the dark purple with 18.1 flies/block; meanwhile, the unpainted (wood) fly grill showed a density of 23 flies/block. The Specifically, light magenta purple attracted the highest number of flies, indicating its effectiveness as a trap color. Based on the research results, utilizing light magenta purple fly grills could enhance fly trapping efficiency. It is recommended that the use of light magenta fly grills be prioritized in fly control strategies in areas prone to infestation, such as landfills.

(pp. 906–917).  Palembang: Penerbit & Percetakan Universitas Sriwijaya (UNSRI).Air is a mixture of various gases whose ratios vary depending on temperature and air pressure. Exposure to dust in the work environment can lead to different types of lung diseases, resulting in impaired lung function and disability. This study aimed to analyze lung function disorders among highway sweepers in Palembang City. It is a quantitative analytical study using a cross-sectional design. The population for this study includes all highway sweepers, with a sample of 91 out of a total of 95 individuals. The results indicate a relationship between smoking habits, years of work, length of exposure, and disease history with lung function impairment. Among these, length of exposure is the most dominant factor affecting lung function impairment. Age, gender, PM10 levels, TSP levels, nutritional status, and PPE use were not significantly related to lung function disorders. Recommendations include providing appropriate PPE to street sweepers and offering nutritious food to address potential nutritional deficiencies among this group.

Abstract

Kusta multibasiler (MB) merupakan bentuk kusta yang paling menular dan sering disertai komplikasi sistemik seperti anemia. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis hubungan antara durasi pengobatan Multi Drug Therapy (MDT) dengan kejadian anemia serta mengevaluasi profil hematologi pasien kusta MB di Kabupaten Bekasi. Penelitian ini merupakan studi kuantitatif dengan desain potong lintang yang dilakukan pada April–Juni 2024 di empat puskesmas. Seluruh pasien kusta MB yang memenuhi kriteria inklusi (n=30) dijadikan sampel dengan teknik total sampling. Pemeriksaan hematologi menggunakan alat Hematology Analyzer dan data dianalisis secara univariat dan bivariat. Hasil menunjukkan bahwa 60% responden mengalami anemia, dengan mayoritas dalam kategori ringan (50%). Rata-rata kadar hemoglobin adalah 11,64 g/dL dan nilai minimum mencapai 3,8 g/dL. Namun, uji statistik tidak menunjukkan hubungan bermakna antara lama terapi dan kejadian anemia (p=1,000). Hasil menunjukkan bahwa meskipun anemia sering terjadi pada pasien kusta MB, durasi terapi tidak berpengaruh signifikan. Faktor lain seperti efek samping obat, status gizi, komorbiditas, dan inflamasi kronis diduga turut berkontribusi. Pemantauan hematologi rutin penting untuk deteksi dan penanganan anemia selama terapi MDT.

Abstract

Introduction: Escherichia coli bacteria are microorganisms that are usually found in the digestive tract in both animals and humans. Belonging to the Enterobacteriaceae family, E. coli has a cell size of between 2.0 to 6.0 micrometers by a diameter of 1.1 to 1.5 micrometers. These bacteria are straight rods and They can be found in singular, paired, or in short chains. E. Objective: This study aims to evaluate the inhibition of white turmeric extract (Curcuma zedoaria) against the pathogenic bacteria Escherichia coli, which is one of the causes of gastrointestinal infections or diarrheal diseases. Method: White turmeric extraction was carried out using the maceration method with a 96% ethanol solvent, which was then tested on Escherichia coli bacteria by the Disc diffusion method, using paper discs that had been soaked in various concentrations of onion extract (15%, 25%, 50%). The inhibition zones formed around the disc are observed and measured to determine the effectiveness of inhibition. Result: Based on research on the inhibitory effect of white turmeric extract on the growth of Escherichia coli bacteria, a concentration of 15% resulted in an average diameter of 7.1 mm (resistant), 25% resulted in a diameter of 9.3 mm (resistant), and 50% resulted in a diameter of 11.3 mm (resistant) on Escherichia coli bacteria. Conclusion: The conclusion of this study is that the more effective concentration to inhibit the growth of Escherichia coli bacteria is at 50% concentration.

Abstract

Air merupakan sumber daya penting yang sangat berperan dalam kehidupan manusia, namun kualitas air sumur gali di Kecamatan Indralaya Kabupaten Ogan Ilir masih tergolong rendah. Warna kekuningan hingga kecoklatan dan bau yang tidak sedap menjadi indikator utama pencemaran air tanah. Kegiatan pengabdian masyarakat ini bertujuan untuk meningkatkan kualitas air sumur gali melalui penerapan teknologi tepat guna berupa metode aerasi dan filtrasi. Sasaran kegiatan adalah masyarakat di lingkungan Pesantren Islam Syafian Hafiyya. Metode pelaksanaan meliputi identifikasi lokasi dan permasalahan spesifik sumber air, penyuluhan serta edukasi mengenai pengolahan air, dan praktik langsung instalasi aerasi-filtrasi. Hasil kegiatan menunjukkan bahwa air yang sebelumnya berwarna dan berbau menjadi lebih jernih, tidak berwarna, serta tidak berbau. Dari 50 peserta penyuluhan, sebanyak 90% memahami materi yang disampaikan dan antusias untuk menerapkan teknologi tersebut di rumah masing-masing. Kegiatan ini tidak hanya memperbaiki kualitas air, tetapi juga meningkatkan pengetahuan dan kepedulian masyarakat terhadap kesehatan lingkungan. Oleh karena itu, teknologi aerasi dan filtrasi terbukti efektif dan penting dalam pengolahan air sumur gali untuk kebutuhan rumah tangga.
