Abstract

Religious moderation is present as a solution for understanding the extreme right and extreme left, especially regarding the massive movement of radicalism which, if allowed to continue, will lead to acts of terrorism. For this reason, it is necessary to carry out Focus Group Discussions which aim to have mutual dialogue and exchange of ideas between service teams and teaching staff at Islamic boarding schools so that educators become pioneers and partners of the government in spreading the notion of religious moderation. This service was carried out by two Islamic boarding schools in TABAGSEL, namely the Al-Ansor Padangsidempuan Islamic Boarding School and the Mustafawiyah Mandailing Natal Islamic Boarding School. This service uses the PAR method with steps; Conducting a needs analysis for understanding moderation for teaching staff, namely ustadz/ustadzah at the Musthofawiyah Islamic Boarding School in Mandailing Natal district and Al-Anshor Islamic Boarding School in Padang Sidempuan City, by conducting Focus Group Discussions with STAIN Mandailing Natal lecturers. The purpose of carrying out this FGD is to find out the understanding of ustadz/ustadzah regarding religious moderation. Form participants and engage in mentoring that presents resource persons as sources of information. The results that can be received after carrying out the FGD are that the ustadz/ustadzah have often heard the word religious moderation. It's just that they don't know clearly about religious moderation in depth. The implementation of this community service was highly appreciated by both the FGD participants as well as the principals and foundations because it was considered to broaden the horizons of the teaching staff at the pesantren. Abstract

This study aims to analyze the role of participatory da'wah (Islamic outreach) based on the majelis taklim (Islamic study groups) as a catalyst for social transformation of Muslim families in Mandailing Natal Regency. The study used a qualitative approach with a multiple case study design. Data were collected through participant observation, in-depth interviews, and documentation studies at several active majelis taklim (Islamic study groups). Data were then analyzed using thematic and cross-case analysis. The results show that the majelis taklim developed a participatory da'wah model through da'wah bil-lisan (oral da'wah), da'wah bil-hal (oral da'wah), family economic empowerment programs, and the use of digital media. Active member participation was a key factor in the program's success. The resulting social transformation encompassed religious dimensions, family education, and family economics. A total of 91.2% of respondents experienced an increase in the quality of family worship, 78.6% experienced changes in parenting patterns to be more Islamic, and 64.3% experienced economic improvements through skills and entrepreneurship programs. This success was supported by strong social capital, support from religious and traditional leaders, and the cultural values of Dalihan Na Tolu. This research produces the concept of Community-Based Participatory Da'wah (DPBK) as a da'wah model that integrates Islamic values, community empowerment, social capital, and local wisdom in encouraging social transformation of Muslim families.

Abstract

Islamic Sharia is a reflection of contemporary da'wah. Islamic Sharia includes components of bilyadi da'wah by using Islam as a reference in the formation of laws covered by Islamic Sharia. religious aspects are carefully reduced and accommodated by the state constitution. The state has an important role as social control over every behavior of the community and this is legalized through the Qanun Syariat Islam in Aceh. Along with that, the current political format is affiliated with Islamic sharia. because Islamic politics was previously considered a forum for efforts to implement Islamic teachings in state life. Meanwhile, the Islamic Sharia Qanun in Aceh is already more complex in its implementation and its scope even exceeds what Islamic politics can do.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the concept of prophetic da‘wah management in fostering religious tolerance amid contemporary socio-religious problems. The phenomena of religious intolerance, identity polarization, hate speech based on religious sentiments, and the strengthening of religious exclusivism in the digital era indicate that modern society requires a more humanistic, inclusive, and contextual approach to Islamic da‘wah. This research employs a qualitative approach using library research and a phenomenological perspective. The data were obtained through the examination of the Prophet’s hadiths, da‘wah management literature, books, scientific journals, and various studies related to religious tolerance and contemporary Islamic preaching. Data analysis was conducted using content analysis techniques to understand the relevance of prophetic values in addressing the dynamics of modern social life. The findings reveal that prophetic da‘wah management based on the Prophet’s hadiths has strong relevance in promoting social harmony and religious tolerance. The Prophet Muhammad’s da‘wah was carried out through approaches emphasizing wisdom, dialogue, compassion, moral exemplarity, and respect for social diversity. These values demonstrate that Islamic da‘wah is not merely oriented toward the transmission of religious teachings, but also toward humanization, social transformation, and the strengthening of religious moderation. This study confirms that the integration of hadith values with the concept of prophetic da‘wah management can serve as an inclusive, moderate, and adaptive model of Islamic preaching in responding to contemporary socio-religious challenges, particularly within the digital era and multicultural societies.

Abstract

The limited capacity to write books based on local wisdom in Mandailing Natal Regency presents a serious challenge to literacy development and cultural preservation. Despite its rich cultural heritage and strong traditional values, much of this local wisdom remains undocumented in professionally published books. Many community members, including educators, lack adequate skills in manuscript writing and publishing. This Community Partnership Program (PKM) aims to enhance the ability of teachers and the wider community in Mandailing Natal Regency to write and publish ISBN-registered books that focus on local wisdom and cultural heritage. The program provides participants with theoretical knowledge and practical skills covering the entire book-writing process, including idea development, data collection, manuscript writing, editing, layout design, publishing procedures, ISBN registration, copyright, and ethical writing. The training employed lectures, discussions, case studies, and hands-on practice supported by intensive mentoring from experienced facilitators. Conducted over four weeks, the program involved 60 participants, comprising students, university students, teachers, librarians, and literacy activists. The results showed meaningful outcomes: all participants produced draft manuscripts related to Mandailing Natal local wisdom, and 18 drafts met publication standards and were compiled into one ISBN-registered book. Evaluation results also revealed a 30% increase in average pretest and posttest scores, indicating an improvement in understanding and writing competence. Overall, the program makes a positive contribution to strengthening literacy and preserving local wisdom in the Mandailing Natal Regency.
