Abstract

ABSTRAKSI: Fokus kajian ini turut mengenal pasti tahap pendidikan keagamaan, tahap pertautan ibu bapa, tahap pertautan rakan sebaya, dan tahap penghayatan akhlak Islam dalam kalangan belia universiti. Seterusnya, kajian ini juga bertujuan untuk mengenal pasti, sama ada terdapat perbezaan daripada segi penghayatan akhlak Islam berdasarkan faktor jantina, aliran pengajian, lokasi asal, status pendapatan keluarga, tahap pendidikan bapa, dan tahap pendidikan ibu. Selain daripada itu, pengaruh pendidikan keagamaan, pertautan ibu bapa, dan pertautan rakan sebaya ke atas penghayatan akhlak Islam turut diambil kira. Responden yang terlibat dalam kajian ini ialah seramai 403 orang belia universiti, yang menuntut di sebuah IPTA (Institusi Pengajian Tinggi Awam) di Malaysia. Kajian telah mengesahkan hasil kajian yang lepas mengenai pembentukan peribadi belia yang dipengaruhi oleh faktor psiko-sosial, iaitu pendidikan keagamaan oleh ibu bapa, pertautan ibu bapa, dan pertautan rakan sebaya. Keputusan kajian juga telah membuktikan bahawa wujudnya hubungan faktor psiko-sosial melibatkan pendidikan keagamaan oleh ibu bapa, pertautan ibu bapa, dan pertautan rakan sebaya dengan penghayatan akhlak Islam dalam kalangan belia universiti.KATA KUNCI: Akhlak Islam, belia, faktor psiko-sosial, institusi pengajian tinggi awam, pertautan ibu bapa, pertautan rakan sebaya, dan pendidikan keagamaan.ABSTRACT: “Factors Affecting Appreciation of Islamic Morality in Youths in a Public Higher Education Institution in Malaysia”. The focus of this study was to identify the level of religious education, parents level of engagement, the level of engagement of peers, and the appreciation of Islamic morality among the university’s youth. The study also aims to identify whether there are significant differences in terms of the appreciation of Islamic morality based on gender, courses, the student’s original location, status, family’s income, the educational level of the father and mother. In addition, the influence of religious education, parental engagement, and engagement of peers on an appreciation of Islamic morality is taken into account. Respondents involved in this study consisted of 403 university’s youths, studying in a public institution of higher education in Malaysia. This study has confirmed the results of previous studies on the formation of the youth character influenced by psycho-social factors, such as religious education by parents, parental engagement, and engagement of peers. The study also shows that there is a significant relationship of psycho-social factors involving religious education by parents, parental engagement, and engagement with peers with appreciation of Islamic morality among the youth of the university.KEY WORD: Islamic morality, youth, psycho-social factors, public institution of higher education, parental engagement, engagement with peers, and religious education.    About the Authors: Rohana Tan dan Assoc. Abstract

ABSTRAKSI: Makalah ini, dengan mengguna-pakai kaedah kualitatif dan pendekatan sejarah, mencuba membicarakan tentang pemikiran historiografi atau pensejarahan Ibn Khaldun. Idea pensejarahan beliau yang didasari dengan penekanan perlunya ahli sejarah bersifat analitikal dan kritis, baik terhadap kandungan penulisan sejarah mahupun sumber sejarah. Sejarah yang lari daripada unsur-unsur kritis dianggap sebagai pensejarahan deskriptif, kerana sejarah kritis mempunyai ciri-ciri mencari kebenaran dengan membahas sebab dan musabab sesuatu peristiwa itu berlaku. Sejarawan juga perlu mengutamakan penulisan yang tidak berat sebelah kepada mana-mana pihak, supaya penulisan sejarahnya lebih jujur dan mengarah ke arah kebenaran. Menurut Ibn Khaldun (1993) lagi pemahaman ke atas sejarah itu penting agar masyarakat manusia boleh mengambil iktibar dan dapat menghindarkan daripada melakukan kesilapan. Beliau berpendapat bahawa ruang lingkup pengajian sejarah bukan hanya menumpukan kepada golongan berpengaruh dan peristiwa-peristiwa besar sahaja, tetapi juga perlu melibatkan golongan bawahan. Dengan demikian, aliran pemikiran pensejarahan Ibn Khaldun, yang lahir pada abad ke-14 Masihi, telah diguna-pakai dan diakui oleh para sejarawan kontemporari. Bagaimanapun, kertas ini hanya menumpukan perbincangan kepada pensejarahan analitikal dan kritis dengan melihat contoh pentafsiran ke atas kandungan munasabah penulisan sejarah dan sumber sejarah, samada dalam pensejarahan moden di Barat mahupun di alam Melayu.KATA KUNCI: Historiografi; Ibn Khaldun; Sejarah Analitikal dan Kritis; Ruang Lingkup Sejarah; Sumber Sejarah. ABSTRACT: “Ibn Khalduns Thoughts as Great Islamic Historian and its Relevance with Contemporary Historiography”. This paper, by adopting qualitative methods and historical approaches, tries to discuss about Ibn Khalduns historiography. His idea of historiography based on the emphasis on the necessity of historians is analytical and critical, both against historical writing and historical sources. The history that escapes critical elements is considered a descriptive hierarchy, as critical history has the character of seeking truth by discussing the causes and affects of such events. The historian should also prioritize the writing of impartiality to any party, so that the writing of history is more honest and leads to the truth. According to Ibn Khaldun (1993), understanding of history is important, so that human beings can learn and avoid mistakes. He thinks that the scope of history studies not only focuses on influential groups and major events, but also involves subordinates. Thus, the flow of thought of Ibn Khaldun, born in the 14th century, has been adopted and recognized by contemporary historians. Abstract

ABSTRAKSI: Artikel ini, dengan menggunakan pendekatan kualitatif dan metode historis, mengkaji tentang dinamika politik pada masa-masa awal Orde Baru (1966-1974) di Indonesia, dengan memfokuskan analisis mengenai pers dan kritik sosial. Studi difokuskan pada mingguan “Mahasiswa Indonesia” di Bandung, yang bersikap kritis terhadap masalah-masalah yang membelenggu pemerintah Orde Baru pada masa itu. Hasil kajian menunjukan bahwa fenomena KKN (Korupsi, Kolusi, dan Nepotisme) pada masa-masa awal pemerintah Orde Baru, seperti kedudukan SPRI (Staf Pribadi) Presiden; kasus BULOG (Badan Urusan Logistik); dan masalah pembangunan TMII (Taman Mini Indonesia Indah) di Jakarta, menjadi “news and views” (berita dan pandangan) yang kritis dari mingguan “Mahasiswa Indonesia”. Namun, berbagai reaksi tersebut tidak menggoyahkan kedudukan pemerintah Orde Baru dalam rangka membangun konsolidasi kekuasaan dan legitimasi pemerintahan. Bahkan pers yang kritis, termasuk mingguan “Mahasiswa Indonesia” di Bandung, akhirnya dibungkam oleh pemerintah Orde Baru, dan sepertinya rejim ini tidak akan tergoyahkan untuk masa 20 tahunan ke depan.KATA KUNCI: Pers dan Kritik Sosial; Pemerintah Orde Baru; Mingguan “Mahasiswa Indonesia”; Masalah Korupsi, Kolusi, dan Nepotisme. ABSTRACT: “Press and Social Criticism in the New Order Period: Case Study of Indonesian Student Weekly in Bandung, 1966-1974”. This article, using a qualitative approach and historical methods, examines the political dynamics in the early period of the New Order (1966-1974) in Indonesia, by focusing on analysis of the press and social criticism. The study focused on the weekly of "Indonesian Students" in Bandung, which were critical towards the problems that bound the New Order government at that time. The results of the study showed that the phenomena of KKN (Corruption, Collusion, and Nepotism) in the early period of the New Order government, such as the position of the SPRI (Personal Staff) of the President; BULOG (Logistics Affairs Agency) case; and the problem of developing of TMII (Beautiful Indonesian Miniature Garden) in Jakarta, becoming a critical news and views from the weekly of "Indonesian Students". However, these various reactions did not destabilize the position of the New Order government in the context to build a consolidation of government power and legitimacy. Abstract

Artikel ini berjudul “Peranan Laskar Hizbullah Bekasi Dalam Mempertahankan Kemerdekaan Republik Indonesia Tahun 1945-1947”. Penelitian ini akan menjelaskan mengenai peran Laskar Hizbullah Bekasi. Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui tentang peranan Laskar Hizbullah Bekasi dalam memperthankan kemerdekaan Republik Indonesia pada tahun 1945-1947, dari pembentukan, perkembangan, hingga peleburan dengan TNI. Metode penelitian yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah metode historis seperti pencarian sumber, kritik sumber, interpretasi, dan historiografi. Konsep-konsep dan landasan teori yang digunakan yaitu Laskar Rakyat, Revolusi Indonesia dan Teori Konflik. Penulis menggunakan teknik penelitian studi literature dan wawancara. Temuan dalam artikel ini adalah, pada tahun 1945 dibentuk Laskar Hizbullah Bekasi oleh Angkut Abu Gozali dan K.H. Noer Ali di Tambun, pembentukan tersebut merupakan tindak lanjut dari para alumni pendidikan Laskar Hizbullah yang dilakukan di Cibarusah dari bulan Februari hingga Mei 1945. Laskar Hizbullah Bekasi mempunyai struktur Angkut Abu Gozali (Komandan Resimen IV Laskar Hizbullah Bekasi), H. Usman Lemahabang (Komandan Batalyon I Lemahabang), Abdullah Syair (Komandan Batalyon II Pondok Ungu, dan Kiai Noer Ali (Komandan Batalyon III Ujung Malang), masing-masing batalyon membawahi beberapa kompi. Laskar Hizbullah Bekasi beranggotakan para pemuda yang memiliki latarbelakang santri dan jawara. Dari tahun 1945-1947, di Bekasi banyak terjadi beberapa pertempuran yang melibatkan Laskar Hizbullah Bekasi menghadapi serangan pasukan Sekutu. Hal tersebut memperlihatkan bahawa Laskar Hizbullah Bekasi merupakan salah satu badan perjuangan kelaskaran yang berperan penting dalam mempertahankan kemerdekaan Republik Indonesia tahun 1945-1947.

Abstract

This study discusses the strategy and pattern of battle carried out by Richard Lionheart, the leader of the Western nations, and Shalahuddin Al-Ayyubi, the leader of the Arabs. This research uses a historical method consisting of four steps: heuristics, criticism, interpretation, and historiography. This research also uses a multidisciplinary approach by taking the concepts of war, leadership, and the holy city to discuss the research themes raised. Based on the study’s results, Richard Lionheart and Shalahuddin Al-Ayyubi had different journeys in their background, occupying positions that made them leaders of two different nations, where Richard Lionheart became King of British. In contrast, Shalahuddin Al-Ayyubi became the nation’s king. Richard Lionheart and Shalahuddin Al-Ayyubi also have strategies and patterns of fighting that are different from one another, with their advantages and disadvantages giving each of them an advantage over their opponents. Besides that, the two nation’s leaders fighting over the Holy City of Jerusalem has the same importance to the Holy City of Jerusalem; for both the leaders of this nation, both Western and Arab nations, Jerusalem is a city that not only has a religious relationship for these two nations, which in addition to having the religious ties, the two nations also had the same historical ties in the past to this Holy City of Jerusalem. These two nations feel they have the same rights in the Holy City of Jerusalem.

Abstract

This study aims to examine the effectiveness of local history-based teaching materials, specifically focusing on Dutch colonialism in Ende-Lio, in enhancing students' historical awareness at SMA Negeri 1 Wolowaru. The rationale behind this study is to make history learning more contextual, meaningful, and closely related to students' daily lives. By integrating local historical narratives into the classroom, students are expected to acquire factual knowledge and develop pride, responsibility, and a stronger attachment to their cultural heritage. This study employed a quasi-experimental method with a randomized pretest-posttest control group design. The population consisted of all eleventh-grade students at SMA Negeri 1 Wolowaru, with two classes selected as samples: XI-1 as the experimental group and XI-2 as the control group. Locally developed history modules on Dutch colonialism in Ende-Lio and a historical awareness questionnaire were used as instruments. Data analysis using descriptive statistical techniques revealed that students exposed to local history-based teaching materials achieved higher levels of historical awareness compared to those who experienced conventional learning methods. This finding confirms that embedding local historical contexts into history education provides a more engaging and meaningful learning experience, contributing to students' emotional engagement with the past and strengthening their awareness of national identity through local heritage.
