Abstract

The scramble method can help students understand history learning material easily, but not many teachers have implemented it in history learning. The purpose of this research was to find the effect of the scramble method in history learning to increase students' interest in learning history. The quantitative method used is a quasi-experimental non-equivalent control group design and divides the class into two groups, namely experimental and control. This study used a population of class X SMA students in Ambon, with a total sample of 104. The sampling technique used cluster sampling, and data collection used observations, interviews, and instruments. In analysing the test data, the independent sample t-test and the N-gain score test were used to see changes. The results showed that the scramble method in learning had a good influence on increasing students' interest in learning history as evidenced by the independent sample t-test test with a significance value of 0.000 0.05, and the N-gain score test which was included in the medium criteria. The scramble method in history learning is an innovation applied by history teachers so that learning objectives are achieved so that history learning will be more meaningful.

Abstract

The values contained in Pancasila have not been implemented in the life of the Indonesian people properly. This study aims to produce a product in the form of a model of planting Pancasila values. This research is a research and development, using a research and development model from Borg and Gall which is modified into seven development steps. Product validation of the Pancasila values inculcation model by learning technology experts and Pancasila education experts. Techniques data analysis used descriptive statistical analysis. This research resulted in a model named my real action plan for Pancasila (MRAPP). MRAPP is a learning model that can be used to inculcate Pancasila values. The steps of the MRAPP model are as: i) field observations; ii) determining one of the precepts of Pancasila; iii) designing real action; iv) making a schedule of activities and presentation of proposals; v) monitoring the implementation of real action; vi) reporting the process and results of real action; and vii) doing reflection. The results of the validation of the feasibility of the learning model from the validation of learning experts and the validation of Pancasila education experts, namely the MRAPP learning model declared “eligible” to be used as a learning model for inculcating Pancasila values.

Abstract

Higher order thinking skill (HOTS) in social studies learning are still often ignored by teachers despite the need for students to acquire these skills. The purpose of this study is to develop her HOTS assessment in a social studies classroom to help teachers improve their students’ thinking skills. This kind of research is research and development with 4D models. Validation was performed by two social studies learning assessment specialists and three social studies teachers. The HOTS test was administered to 112 students in class VIII (second grade) of Yogyakarta junior high school. Data analysis consisted of validity, reliability, difficulty, selectivity, and distractor index. Explanatory factor analysis (EFA) pathway analysis was used for data analysis of small trials and confirmatory factor analysis (CFA) pathway analysis was used for large trials. The multiple-choice HOTS assessment tool consisted of 30 items, and the effectiveness results of this HOTS questions on material, structure, and language aspects by two social studies learning assessment experts where it was valid and suitable for our application. Effective results for three social studies teachers indicated that the assessment tool was valid and applicable. HOTS in social studies learning helps improve quality and learning outcomes, enabling students to examine information critically, develop creativity, and improve problem-solving skills.

Abstract

Animated video learning media is a tool that can be used in various learning models to improve the quality of learning. However, there are still many social studies teachers who have not utilized animated videos in social studies learning to increase student activity and learning outcomes. The purpose of this research is to analyze the effectiveness of animated videos on the activity and social studies learning outcomes of elementary school students. The method used is a descriptive quantitative approach with an experimental design. The sampling technique used purposive sampling with a sample of 42 students and 1 teacher. Data collection techniques through questionnaires in the form of pre-test and post-test statements with a Likert scale of 5 to assess student activity and learning outcomes. Data analysis used a paired sample t-test to determine whether there was an influence between the two variables assisted by the SPSS Version 26 program. The results showed that the use of animated videos in social studies learning was stated to be effective so that learning activities took place optimally and were able to improve activeness and student learning outcomes.
