Abstract

In order to support the empowerment of the Waste Bank, Bakrie University collaborates with the Wangi Bumi Nusantara Foundation as a partner in charge of 11 District Waste Bank Coordinators in Depok. Partners have played a role as a forum for the Waste Bank network, environmental activists, research and development programs, empowering human resources, and innovating environmentally friendly products. Currently, partners face communication problems to support routine activities and community development, such as recording waste bank transactions, coordination, providing recycled product storefronts, data analysis, branding, and product marketing. Therefore, we need a tool that can overcome those problems. The purpose of this activity is to design, create and fill out content on a prototype web portal. The portal is a combination of a website and a web portal. The website serves to convey information about waste banks for community members. This portal also functions as a showcase for waste bank products. The methodology is carried out through preparation stages, surveys of potential development activities, Focus Group Discussions, technology transfer, website prototyping, ecoprint training with ponding techniques, training on using web portals, evaluation, monitoring, and mentoring. Currently, the web portal is active and can be accessed by partner, waste bank managers, and the general public via https://wangibuminusantara.org which is hosting for the next 3 years. Technology transfer and website management assistance have also been carried out to partner and Coordinators of Sub-District Waste Banks. Partners say this web application is very helpful in introducing profiles, program information and product marketing.

Abstract

The regional governments of Jaticempaka Subdistrict Bekasi (RT 05 RW 09) were committed to improving their area from pollution due to the disposal of cooking oil waste into the environment. Through collaboration between the government and the Bakrie University PKM team, community service activities in educational efforts regarding the management of cooking oil waste were carried out in RT 05 RW 09 Jaticempaka Subdistrict Bekasi. In the first step, the level of participants’ knowledge regarding cooking oil waste was measured using a questionnaire method. In the second step, the cooking oil damage indicators, health hazards, the impact of disposing of cooking oil waste into the environment, and its recycled products were socialized through interactive discussions. The results given through the questionnaire showed that all participants (n=24) of RT 05 RW 09 Jaticempaka Subdistrict – Bekasi used cooking oil, with an average usage of 1-2 litre in one week. As many as 37% of participants threw the cooking oil waste into the waterways or ground, and 50% threw it into the trash. This phenomenon was because participants did not know how to dispose of cooking oil waste properly, as well as its value-added recycled products. However, all participants agreed to establish the collection system for cooking oil waste disposal in the RT 05 RW 09 area, Jaticempaka Subdistrict - Bekasi. Therefore, through this socialization activity, the 24 participants committed and initiated the collection system of cooking oil waste disposal by collecting it using 2L jerrycans distributed by the committee.

Abstract

In this paper, the application of SCADA systems in the automotive product packaging process has been carried out. At an Automotive Manufacturing Industrial Company that produces tires and tubes specifically for two-wheeled vehicles. In making marketable tires, there are various processes that must be gone through, namely: mixing, extrusion, bead wire, calendaring, bias cutting, manufacturing, curing, final inspection, and wrapping. The wrapping process is the process of packaging the outer tire, with the work process of wrapping the outer tire using a predetermined plastic. In the wrapping process there is a process of collecting counter result data manually using a check sheet by the machine operator. The machine operator takes the counter data displayed on the panel of each machine. After that, the data is collected by the foreman at the end of the shift, then the data is recapitulated and entered manually into the recap data for the accomplishment of the wrapping process by the foreman. This process is considered less efficient because it is quite time-consuming, and the level of human error that may occur is quite high. Therefore, we designed a SCADA system for the wrapping machine using the Wonderware Intouch 10.6 application. In this case, we use data communication between a PC (Personal Computer) which contains the Wonderware application program and Microsoft SQL Server with a Mitsubishi Q02H PLC (Programmable Logic Controller) via the QJ71E71-100 ethernet module, and the cc-link module as a remote Input-output module. The machine counter results data is stored in the Microsoft SQL Server database. The process of saving monitoring data from Wonderware Intouch to Microsoft SQL Server is done by creating a table in the Microsoft SQL Server database, adding ODBC (Open Database Connectivity) according to the database that has been created, and creating a bindlist on Wonderware Intouch. This SCADA system was developed for high accuracy, eliminating the manual process of inputting counter data results, and it can monitor production results automatically from a PC both in the interface and data acquisition recorded in Microsoft SQL Server.

Abstract

Abstract

This research was conducted at an automotive manufacturing company that produces pistons. In the piston production process, there are two stages, the first stage is the casting process which can be called the Foundry process, and the second stage is the manufacture of parts which can be called the Machining process. In the Machining process, there is a piston drilling process to make oil holes using a Drill Oil Hole (DOH) machine. The Drill Oil Machine process has a clamping process using a pneumatic cylinder, then determining the points using a servo motor, and the drilling process using a selfeeder motor. This Drill Oil Hole machine has a weakness, namely it still uses the old control system, NC. This NC Control System program cannot be changed, and to change the program, you must contact the vendor directly. In addition, Troubleshooting takes a long time. Therefore, this study aims to change the control system from NC to PLC. This is done by adding a piston template system to reduce downtime and change the piston type model"”furthermore, changes to the HMI display on the DOH machine layer using the Omron NB10W HMI. Meanwhile, the servo motor and its driver use Servo Delta Asda-A2. After replacing the control system from NC-based to PLC CJ2M CPU-11, the DOH machine testing was carried out by the provisions. The use of HMI as the basis for monitoring and the machine operating system by the operator makes it much easier to operate and has several additional features such as piston templates and sensor indicators that are not available in numerical-based control systems. In addition, for the next piston model replacement process, there is no more machine downtime.

Abstract

The Central Statistics Agency (BPS) stated that domestic cooking oil consumption increased by 2.32% per year in the household sector from 2015 to 2020. According to a survey, 95% (n=20) of residents of RW 02, Pancoran Village, South Jakarta are one of the producers of used cooking oil from kitchen activities and 70% do not know how to process used cooking oil into useful products. Used cooking oil that is not managed properly can pollute the environment and is harmful to health if consumed repeatedly. On the other hand, used cooking oil has great potential benefits in various sectors. The purpose of this community service activity is to provide education and training to residents about the management of used cooking oil and how to process used cooking oil waste into useful derivative products containing ecoenzyme. The method used is by distributing questionnaires, education and training in making aromatherapy candles and liquid soap containing ecoenzyme. The indicator of activity achievement is that participants have independently produced aromatherapy candles for a bazaar with better quality. The results of the questionnaire after the training stated that all training participants (100%, n = 14) had understood how to manage used cooking oil properly, had understood how to make used cooking oil derivative products and were interested in making it a business.
