Abstract

Abstract: Curriculum is a component that takes an important role in the education system. Curriculum is formulated as the objectives that must be achieved so that the educational programs are able to run clearly and effectively. In addition, thecurriculum provides an understanding of learning that ought to be owned by each student. The development of Arabic curriculum is an ongoing process that should always be conducted continuously. If it is not, the curriculum has become obsoleteor outdated. Nevertheless, the curriculum development cannot be done with minimal effort or carelessly. The Arabic curriculum cannot be developed carelessly or improperly. In order toproduce a qualified Arabic curriculum, it requires some substantial foundations, for instance the religious foundation, in which the purposes of Arabic education cannot be separated from the goal of understanding the study of Islam with its various science, philosophical, juridical, or linguistics; the differences laid on the way or technique in teaching the language influenced by different views on seeing the nature of language, analyzing and describing the language, psycholinguistics, sociolinguistics, and the foundation of science and technology. Hence, the curriculum should be able to accommodate and anticipate the pace of developments in science and technology.

Hence, the curriculum should be able to accommodate and anticipate the pace of developments in science and technology. إن المنهج الدراسي له دوره الهام في النظام التربوي. وضع المنهج وفيه الأهداف المرجوة حتى تكون الخطة لمسير التربية  واضحة متجهة.وبجانب ذلك، أعطى المنهج الدراسي الفهم عن الدراسة الواجب امتلاكه للطالب. وتنمية المنهج الدراسي للغة العربية هو عملية متواصلة لابد من القيام بها، وإلا فسيكون المنهج الدراسي متخلفا. ولكن لايمكن أن ينمى المنهج الدراسي ارتجاليا دون دراسة سبقته. وللحصول على المنهج الدراسي الجيد لابد من الاعتماد على أسس قوية، منها : الأساس الديني، أي أن تربية اللغة العربية لاتنفصل عن الهدف لفهم مصادر تعاليم الإسلام وعلومه الفلسفية، والقضائية، واللغوية. ويعنى بهذا الفرق في كيفية تدريس اللغة متأثرة بالفرق في النظر إلى حقيقة اللغة والفرق في كيفية التحليل وتصوير اللغة، علم اللغة النفسي، وعلم اللغة الإجتماعي والأساس المعرفي والتقنية. ويرجى أن يكون المنهج الدراسي متخذا ومتخمنا لتقدم العلوم والتقنية.

Abstract

AbstactThis paper revealed linguistic phenomenon of the Qur'an that takes the story of the creation of human as its central theme. The stylistic problems of the Qur'an studied included  phonology, morphology, syntax, and semantics in the verses about the creation of human. This paper is expected to be a reference for the development of other linguistic research that takes the same object, al-Qur'ân. This paper has proved and showed the value-laden language of the Qur’an that is very spectacular which is known as i‘jâz al-Qur'ân. The method used is the method of stylistics limited to three things: preferences of pronunciation, sentence preference or preferred meaning in a sentence, and deviations from the general rules of grammar. The main object of this research is the construction of various forms of texts as a communication system as they are used in their own contexts. Tulisan ini mengungkap fenomena kebahasaan al-Qur’an yang tema sentralnya adalah kisah penciptaan manusia. Masalah yang dikaji mencakup stilistika al-Qur’an dari aspek fonologi, morfologi, sintaksis, dan semantik dalam ayat-ayat tentang penciptaan manusia. Tulisan ini diharapkan dapat menjadi acuan pengembangan penelitian kebahasaan lainnya yang mengambil obyek yang sama yakni al-Qur’ân. Tulisan ini membuktikan dan menunjukkan adanya muatan nilai yang sangat spektakuler dalam bahasa al-Qur’ân yang dikenal dengan istilah i’jâz al-Qur’ân. Metode yang digunakan adalah metode stilistika yang dibatasi hanya pada tiga hal: preferensi lafal, preferensi kalimat atau makna yang lebih disukai dalam suatu kalimat, dan deviasi atau penyimpangan dari kaidah umum tata bahasa. Yang menjadi objek dalam penelitian ini adalah konstruksi dari berbagai bentuk teks sebagai sistem komunikasi yang digunakan sesuai dengan konteksnya. Keywords: stilistika, al-Qur’an, fonologi, morfologi, sintaksis, semantik.

Abstract

This research was conducted to empower ustadzah in Muhammadiyah Islamic boarding schools through an empowerment program to read the bald book, by applying the Participatory Action Research (PAR) method for five months, from March to the end of July 2021. The results of the research show that the ustadzah are very active in da'wah and general education activities through the Muhammadiyah association. However, the majority of Muhammadiyah Islamic boarding school ustadzah lack competence in reading Arabic books which are the main focus of Islamic boarding school learning. The program that was implemented to empower reading the bald book was successful in increasing the ability to read the bald book simply among ustadzah. Based on these results, researchers provide several suggestions. Islamic boarding schools are advised not to involve ustadzah too much in activities outside of Islamic boarding school activities so that they can focus more on increasing Islamic boarding school competency. Apart from that, Islamic boarding schools need to continue to improve the abilities of their ustadzahs through upskilling efforts in mastering Arabic books. Simultaneous follow-up to programs that have been implemented is also needed. If weaknesses are found in future program implementation, a review needs to be carried out using appropriate research methods. In this way, efforts to empower ustadzah can continue to develop and make a greater contribution to Islamic boarding school learning.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the design of the Muhadatsah book and the effectiveness of its use at Al-Hasanah Islamic Boarding School. This study uses the Research and Development (R&D) method and data collection using observation, interviews, questionnaires, and tests. The test subjects consisted of material experts, learning design experts, linguists, and 3rd-grade students of Al-Hasanah Islamic boarding school as the target of testing the Arabic conversation product dhiyaul muta'alimin. The results of this study show: 1) The product designed is an Arabic conversation pocket book, "Dhiyaul Muta'alimin", designed to be simple, attractive, and small in size so that it is easy to carry. The material contained in the pocketbook "Dhiyaul Muta'alimin" is the daily conversation material of the santri in the dormitory and is equipped with 'amiya Arabic expressions (the daily language of the Arabs), which will add insight to the santri. 2) Using the pocketbook "Dhiyaul Muta'alimin" in the third grade of Al-Hasanah boarding school is effective. This is shown by the evidence that the results of statistical tests before and after using the "Dhiyaul Muta'alimin" muhadatsah pocketbook increased. Namely the results of the Wilcoxon statistical test in the experimental group given the "Dhiyaul Muta'alimin" pocketbook is the sig value (0.00) < alpha (0.05) so it can be concluded that there is an effect of the "Dhiyaul Muta'alimin" muhadatsah pocket book on student learning outcomes. Abstrak Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui perancangan buku Muhadatsah dan efektivitas penggunaannya di Pondok Pesantren Al-Hasanah. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode penelitian Research and Development (R&D) dan pengumpulan data menggunakan observasi, wawancara, angket, dan tes. Subjek uji coba terdiri dari ahli materi, ahli desain pembelajaran, ahli bahasa, dan siswa kelas 3 pondok pesantren Al-Hasanah sebagai sasaran uji coba produk percakapan bahasa Arab dhiyaul muta'alimin. Hasil penelitian ini menunjukkan: 1) Produk yang dirancang adalah Buku saku percakapan bahasa Arab “Dhiyaul Muta’alimin” yang didesain simple, menarik, dan berukuran kecil sehingga mudah untuk dibawa. Materi yang terdapat dalam buku saku “Dhiyaul Muta’alimin” adalah materi percakapan keseharian santri di asrama, dan dilengkapi dengan ungkapan kata bahasa Arab ‘amiyah (bahasa keseharian orang Arab) yang akan menambah wawasan bagi santri. 2) Penggunaan buku saku “Dhiyaul Muta’alimin” di kelas tiga pondok pesantren Al-Hasanah berjalan efektif. Hal ini ditunjukkan dengan bukti bahwa hasil uji statistik antara sebelum dan sesudah menggunakan buku saku muhadatsah “Dhiyaul Muta’alimin” meningkat, yaitu hasil uji statistik wilcoxon pada kelompok eksperimen yang diberikan buku saku “Dhiyaul Muta’alimin” adalah nilai sig (0.00)< alpha (0.05) sehingga bisa disimpulkan bahwa ada pengaruh dari buku saku muhadatsah “Dhiyaul Muta’alimin” pada hasil belajar siswa.

Abstract

This study explores the use of metaphors and idioms in Wayang, a traditional Javanese art form, and its potential to convey Islamic character values. The research analyzes five popular Wayang plays, namely Banjaran Noroyono, Banjaran Bima, Wiratha Parwa, Wahyu Makutha Rama, and Babat Wanamerta, to identify and categorize various metaphorical and idiomatic expressions. The study employs a qualitative approach using an inductive method that involves the observation of Wayang performances, examination of corresponding manuscripts, and systematic documentation of metaphorical and idiomatic structural units. The analysis revealed 52 patterns of metaphors and idioms encompassing figurative, personification, simile, verbal, phrase, sentence, and adjectival idioms. These expressions convey a wide range of meanings, from descriptive phenomena and social values to complex concepts, such as hedonism, pessimism, and domestic issues. Moreover, metaphors and idioms reflect diverse character traits, including responsibility, courage, patriotism, honesty, and humility, which align with Islamic teachings. This study highlights the potential of Wayang metaphors and idioms to enrich dialogue between Javanese culture and Islamic values, fostering tolerance, inclusivity, and cultural preservation in the era of globalization. Despite the limitations of focusing on the five selected plays, the research underscores the significance of harmonizing religious and cultural values to promote a more civilized society.

Abstract

Aim: This research aims to rectify perspectives that overlook the significant contributions made by three important figures in educational philosophy to the advancement of the Islamic education curriculum. The objective of this research is to explain the implications of the ideas put out by three educational philosophy figures, namely John Locke, Henry Giroux, and John Dewey, in the development of the Islamic education curriculum. Each paradigm represents a distinct philosophical viewpoint: Humanism, Reconstructionism, and Progressivism.Methodology: The research methodology employed is qualitative, specifically based on a literature review. The research model is to explain the perspectives of three major thinkers.Findings: The findings of this study indicate that the three educational philosophy figures play distinct roles in the development of the Islamic education curriculum. John Locke advocated for the promotion of reason and ethical principles in the context of Islamic education. Henry Giroux enhances students’ capacity to critically examine material, comprehend social reality through an Islamic lens, and actively participate in meaningful discussions on significant matters. John Dewey enhanced the curriculum by prioritizing the cultivation of moral qualities andthe practical utilization of knowledge in real-life situations. This philosopher introduced educational principles that became influential in the advancement of Islamic education, namely focusing on fostering reasoning and moral development, promoting critical thinking, and advocating for participatory learning.Implications/Novel Contribution: The implications of this study highlight the need for an Islamic education curriculum that integrates reasoning and ethical reflection, as advocated by John Locke. Henry Giroux’s ideas emphasize the importance of critical thinking and social awareness through an Islamic lens. John Dewey’s philosophy supports participatory and experiential learning to apply knowledge in real-life contexts. Together, these perspectives encourage a holistic, dynamic, and socially responsive Islamic education.
