Abstract

This study aims to evaluate the implementation of character education in Indonesia from 2011 to 2022, focusing on its focus, scope, and achievements. Library research, in which articles are examined, was used as the method of this study. A semi-systematic literature review was conducted using predefined keywords on Google Scholar. Articles were screened with structured inclusion criteria based on citation counts and topic relevance to improve transparency and reduce selection bias. The review examines four analytical dimensions: policy implementation, pedagogical models, management strategies, and assessment practices. Findings indicate strong regulatory commitment, particularly through Curriculum-13 and subsequent policy reinforcement. However, operational implementation varies across institutions due to differences in teacher capacity, leadership, and organizational readiness. Pedagogically, character education is integrated through thematic instruction, habit-building practices, and project-based learning, yet often lacks prioritization of constructs and alignment with developmental stages. Management capacity significantly influences sustainability, while assessment remains the most methodologically fragile dimension due to the difficulty of measuring affective and virtue-based constructs. Overall, although character values are widely emphasized, structural coherence, standardized evaluative constructs, and developmental-stage alignment remain limited. This study provides an evaluative framework to strengthen policy relevance and operational consistency in future character education reforms in Indonesia.

Abstract

This study aims to find out how educational institutions prepare strategies and concepts for their students in the current era of disruption, especially in strengthening character formation in Generation Z. An era that offers acceleration in various areas of life, one of them is acceleration in uprooting the established foundations of life. The research method used in this research is library research with an analytical descriptive approach. The results of this study are that education must be able to present linear strategies and concepts with the characteristics of the Z-generation. One of these concepts is through a personal-constructive approach in strengthening the character education of students, especially the Z-generation. This approach was carried out as the Sufis in ancient times tried to improve their morals in totality before God and humans, namely through self-awareness of their spiritual potential and concrete actions that focused on fundamental things such as repentance, patience, sincerity, etc.

Abstract

ABSTRACT The global environmental crisis, characterized by ecosystem degradation, climate change, and uncontrolled resource exploitation, reflects challenges that are not merely technical in nature but also deeply rooted in value-based dimensions of the human–nature relationship. This study aims to conceptually examine the role of Islamic teachings in constructing an ecological ethical framework through the integration of the concepts of tauhid, khilafah, and mizan. The research employs a qualitative approach using a library research design, where data are collected from scholarly literature and Islamic sources selected thematically, and subsequently analyzed through content analysis to identify patterns of conceptual interconnections. The findings reveal that these three concepts form an interconnected value system that shapes awareness, responsibility, and balance in environmental management. The study also identifies a gap between normative values and social practices, which remain largely dominated by exploitative patterns. It concludes that strengthening environmental ethics based on Islamic teachings requires integration at both individual and structural levels through education, policy, and social practices. Therefore, the Islamic ecological framework is not only conceptual but also operationally relevant in promoting sustainable relationships between humans and the natural environment. ABSTRAK Krisis lingkungan global yang ditandai oleh degradasi ekosistem, perubahan iklim, dan eksploitasi sumber daya menunjukkan adanya persoalan yang tidak hanya bersifat teknis, tetapi juga berkaitan dengan dimensi nilai dalam relasi manusia dan alam. Penelitian ini bertujuan menganalisis secara konseptual peran ajaran Islam dalam membangun kerangka etika ekologis melalui integrasi konsep tauhid, khilafah, dan mizan. Pendekatan yang digunakan adalah kualitatif dengan jenis library research, di mana data diperoleh dari literatur ilmiah dan sumber keislaman yang diseleksi secara tematik, kemudian dianalisis menggunakan teknik content analysis untuk mengidentifikasi pola keterkaitan antar konsep. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa ketiga konsep tersebut membentuk sistem nilai yang saling terhubung dalam membangun kesadaran, tanggung jawab, dan prinsip keseimbangan dalam pengelolaan lingkungan. Temuan juga mengindikasikan adanya kesenjangan antara nilai normatif dan praktik sosial yang masih didominasi oleh pola eksploitatif. Penelitian ini menegaskan bahwa penguatan etika lingkungan berbasis ajaran Islam memerlukan integrasi pada level individu dan struktural melalui pendidikan, kebijakan, serta praktik sosial. Dengan demikian, kerangka ekologis Islam tidak hanya bersifat konseptual, tetapi juga memiliki relevansi operasional dalam mendorong keberlanjutan hubungan manusia dan alam.
