Abstract

The objective of this research is to find the empirical evidence of the English summative test administered to the students for the seventh grade at Junior High School of Unismuh Makassar that is appropriate with the indicators of reading and writing skills in the English syllabus and has good content validity. The method of this research is descriptive research. The data was collected by observing and analyzing the English summative test. To know the content validity of the test, this research used the comparative analytic method, that is, by comparing the contents of the test with the English syllabus focusing on reading and writing indicators. The finding of the research was that the test items in the English summative test in the odd semester for the seventh grade students of Junior High School of Unismuh Makassar were appropriate with the recommended indicators in reading and writing skills in the English syllabus. They cover 11/18 x 100% = 61.11%. This percentage obviously falls into the level of 56%-75%, which means sufficient. This research proved that items of the English summative test for the odd semester of the seventh grade students in the Junior High School of Unismuh Makassar have sufficient content validity. It showed that most of the materials of the English summative test are appropriate to the recommended English syllabus referring to reading and writing standard competence.

Abstract

Living with other people requires communication and social skills, such as working in a team, having the determination to succeed, solving problems, communicating well, making decisions, managing oneself, and interacting with friends, so these need to be taught and trained from an early age. The development of social skills is not only related to academic aspects, but also equips students with social life skills. One way to improve social skills is through implementing the social inquiry development learning model. This learning model is designed and aims to create a learning experience that not only focuses on academic knowledge but also on developing social skills. This research approach is a Research and Development (R&D) approach using development design. The research and development procedure used is the 4-D (Four-D) model. The final product of this research is the development of an Inquiry Learning Model which has been evaluated by material experts, learning model experts, as well as limited testing. This research produces (1) The inquiry learning model can improve students' social skills. So that the inquiry learning model product is suitable for use as a learning model in the PGSD Department. (2) The Inquiry Learning Model is effectively used in social studies courses because it increases learning outcomes (Gain Score) between the experimental class and the control class.

Abstract

Penelitian ini dimaksudkan untuk menilai sejauh mana siswa memahami konsep pendidikan karakter di SMPN 2 Sungguminasa Kabupaten Gowa, Sulawesi Selatan. Fokus dari penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui seberapa dalam siswa mengerti dan menghayati nilai-nilai karakter seperti kejujuran, disiplin, tanggung jawab, kolaborasi, dan spiritualitas yang diterapkan dalam proses belajar mengajar, serta melihat perbedaan pemahaman pendidikan karakter antara siswa pria dan wanita. Metodologi yang dipakai dalam penelitian ini adalah kualitatif dengan pendekatan deskriptif. Pengumpulan data dilakukan melalui wawancara, observasi, dan tinjauan pustaka yang ditujukan kepada guru dan siswa. Hasil yang diperoleh dari studi ini menunjukkan bahwa implementasi pendidikan karakter di SMPN 2 Sungguminasa berjalan cukup efektif, yang terlihat dari meningkatnya kesadaran siswa dalam menerapkan nilai-nilai karakter selama kegiatan pembelajaran. Siswa berhasil menunjukkan sikap sopan, disiplin, dan partisipatif dalam proses belajar mereka. Meskipun demikian, masih terdapat beberapa tantangan, terutama terkait dengan konsistensi penerapan nilai-nilai karakter di luar sekolah. Temuan ini menunjukkan perlunya kerjasama antara sekolah, keluarga, dan masyarakat untuk mendukung pengembangan karakter siswa dalam jangka panjang.

Abstract

Stunting remains a critical issue in Indonesia’s public health development. According to the 2024 Indonesian Nutritional Status Survey (SSGI), the national stunting prevalence stands at 19.8%. Although this marks a decrease from previous years, it still falls short of the 2025 National Medium-Term Development Plan (RPJMN) target of 14%. One of the major contributing factors to stunting is the lack of maternal knowledge regarding balanced nutrition during early childhood. This study aimed to improve mothers’ understanding of balanced nutrition for infants and toddlers through the use of flipchart media as a strategy to prevent stunting in RW 5, Tamangapa Subdistrict. The intervention involved 30 mothers and employed an educational approach using a pre-test and post-test design. Nutrition education was delivered through flipchart-assisted sessions. The results demonstrated a significant increase in maternal nutrition knowledge, with pre-test scores showing 63.3% of participants in the "poor" category and post-test results indicating 100% in the "good" category. The analysis also revealed significant associations between stunting and both household income and paternal smoking behavior. In conclusion, nutrition education using flipchart media proved to be effective in enhancing maternal knowledge and represents a viable strategy to accelerate stunting reduction at the community level.
