Abstract

The purpose of this study to describe: (1) the verbal form of terminology used in car and motorcycle advertisement found in the Solopos, (2) the meaning of terminology used in car and motorcycle advertisement found in the Solopos, and (3) the function of terminology used in car and motorcycle advertisement found in the Solopos. This study was a qualitative research and the object of the study is verbal form, meaning, and function used in car and motorcycle advertisement found in the Solopos. Data collection technique used is documentation and data analysis used is referential technique. The results of the study are as follows: (1) the verbal form of terminology used in car and motorcycle advertisement are of three kinds, namely: (a) the term that indicates excellence, (b) the term that indicates appearance, and (c) the term that denotes a pleasant thing. (2) the message of terminology used in car and motorcycle advertisement includes: (a) in terms of its nature there are two types of meaning: denotative and connotative meaning, (b) in terms of its relation to the reference there are synonymy, polysemy, homonymy, hiponimi and antonym. (3) the function of terminology used in car and motorcycle advertisement are as follows: (a) to introduce a product identity that is informed and explain the differences in products with other products, (b) to communicate the product concept, the benefits and advantages functional, psychological, and target markets, (c) to lead to the use of old and new products to the market, (d) to inform the sales and purchases to stimulate a wider distribution, (e) to establish and maintain product image product positioning in the target markets, and (f) to confront the problem related to competition among products.

Abstract

Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah mengidentifikasi implikatur yang terdapat dalamSMS Pembaca dalam Liputan Khusus Pila Thomas dan Uber dalam surat kabar harian Tempo bulan Mei 2008. Objek dalam penelitian ini adalah satuan lingual yang mengandung implikatur dalam kolom SMS Pembaca Liputan Khusus Piala Thomas dan Uber 2008. Sumber data penelitian adalah wacana kolom SMS Pembaca Liputan Khusus Piala Thomas dan Uber 2008. Pengumpulan data dilakukan dengan metode simak catat dan observasi. Data yang terkumpul dianalisis dengan menggunakan teknik penyajian informal. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa implikatur yang terdapat pada kolom SMS Pembaca adalah (1) implikatur yang berupa kritikan terhadap Persatuan Sepak Bola Seluruh Indonesia, (2) implikatur yang berupa membangkitkan semangat nasionalisme, (3) implikatur yang berupa protes dan kekecewaan terhadap kenaikan harga BBM, (4) implikatur yang berupa kritikan kepada pemerintah, (6) implikatur yang berupa kritikan dan dukungan terhadap kinerja KPK, (7) implikatur yang berupa saran untuk PBSI, (8) implikatur yang berupa saran dan imbauan kepada pelatih diPelatnas, dan (9) implikatur yang berupa protes terhadap kenaikan harga sembako.Key Words: implikatur, kolom SMS, koran harian

Abstract

The study describes subordinators indicating temporal relations of equivalenceand sequence in which their existence in compound-complex sentences are obligatory.The distribution method and its five techniques (Immediate Constituent, deletion,permutation, substitution, and expansion) are used to identify the types anddistribution of the subordinators within the Indonesian sentences. The result showsthat subordinators indicating equivalence of temporal relations are saat, ketika,waktu, sewaktu, kala, tatkala, selama, and selagi. Meanwhile, subordinators indicatingsequence of temporal relations are begitu, usai, sesuai, sesudah, selepas, andsehabis. The distribution of the two kinds of subordinators in the cimpound-complexsentences vary; they can be placed initially, medially after the main clause,and after subject of the main clause.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk memaparkan kohesi pada wacana berita rubrik nasional di Majalah Online Tempo Edisi Bulan Januari 2020 dan memaparkan koherensi pada wacana berita rubrik nasional di Majalah Online Tempo Edisi Bulan Januari 2020. Jenis penelitian ini adalah penelitian deskriptif kualitatif. Pengumpulan data dalam penelitian ini menggunakan metode sampling. Hasil penelitian yaitu kohesi gramatikal yang meliputi referensi, subtitusi, elipsis, dan konjungsi. Pada referensi terdapat referensi pesona, referensi penunjukan, dan referensi komparatif. Pada subtitusi meliputi subtitusi nominal dan subtitusi frasa. Selanjutnya, pada elipsis terdapat elipsis nominal dan elipsis verbal. Terakhir ialah konjungsi, konjungsi meliputi konjungsi koordinatif dan konjungsi subordinatif. Pada aspek koherensi terdapat hubungan sebab akibat, akibat sebab, generik spesifik, aditif, amplikatif, argumentasi, dan syarat tujuan.Kata kunci: kohesi, koherensi, wacana, berita This research aims to explain the cohesion of the national rubric news discourse in the January 2020 Online Tempo Magazine and explain the coherence of the national rubric news discourse in the January 2020 Tempo Online Magazine. This type of research is a qualitative descriptive study. Data collection in this study uses a sampling method. The results of the study are grammatical cohesion which includes references, substitution, ellipsis, and conjunctions. In the reference there are charm references, reference references, and comparative references. In substitution includes nominal substitution and phrase substitution. Furthermore, there are nominal ellipsis and verbal ellipsis. Finally, conjunctions, conjunctions include coordinative conjunctions and subordinative conjunctions. In the aspect of coherence there is a causal relationship, causal cause, specific generic, additive, amplicative, arhumentation, and objective requirements.Keywords: cohesion, coherence, discourse, news
