Abstract

Abstract

Desmos is a web-based platform that offers interactive mathematical tools, primarily a graphing calculator, to dynamically visualize mathematical concepts. Using Desmos is one solution to the challenges of teaching mathematics, which often lacks engagement and interactivity due to its abstract nature. Mathematics teachers from vocational schools across Salatiga have received training on utilizing Desmos in teaching. As a result, 85% of participants found Desmos easy to use, 80% felt that Desmos significantly aids mathematics teaching, particularly in visualizing concepts, 76% stated that the Desmos Graphing Calculator makes graph presentations in lessons more engaging, 85% agreed that the 3D features in Desmos help students grasp abstract concepts more concretely, 90% felt that Desmos Classroom facilitates real-time interaction through the online teacher dashboard, 80% noted that Desmos Classroom helps teachers assess student work, and 85% expressed their intention to use Desmos in their classroom teaching.

Abstract

The world is changing, the environmental crisis is happening, the life of any living being is on the line. Nature is facing challenges and degradations that will extended to effect on human welfare and all other life on earth. As in the 2030 Sustainable Development Goals agenda, world leaders command every organization to play a role in protecting the planet from degradation, undertake urgent actions to perform sustainable resource management. UIN Walisongo Semarang is answering the call and respond to this global issues by declaring a vision statement to be a “Green Campus”. It is not merely a statement, but a commitment to take responsibility in protecting and conserving the nature, applied in all activities under the Three Pillars of Higher Education (Education, Research, and Community Services). This paper aimed to elaborate the distinct concept and approach of community service activities implemented in UIN Walisongo Semarang. Eco-Spiritualism Social Empowerment program designed based on fundamental spiritual and religious values about how human connect with nature, and so this connection create a reciprocal-inseparable relationship. How human affects nature, and otherwise, will create a belief and values directing human’s behavior toward nature. Therefore, a spiritual approach considered to be an effective way to empower people in order to create an eco-friendly society. Eco-Spiritualism Social Empowerment program implemented in both rural and urban area, are showing great results on recycle and waste management, plastic waste utilization and creating value added products, skill development and sustainable social empowerment

Abstract

Mixed Geographically Weighted Regression (MGWR) is a method for analyzing spatial data in regression that produces local and global parameters. Parameter estimation using WLS with a fixed tricube weighting function. The object of research in this study is poor population (X1), female household heads (X2), the education (X3), individuals with disabilities (X4), individuals having chronic disease (X5), individuals works (X6), uninhabitable houses (X7), and low welfare status (Y). This reseach applied to the low welfare status (Y) of each district/town in Central Java in 2019, and produced local variables are X1, X3, X5 and global variables are X2, X4, X6, and X7. However, only X1, X4, and X7 have a significant effect on Y in each district/town in Central Java, and X3 has a significant effect on only a few districts/cities, the other, X2, X5, and X6 have no significant effect on the model. The predictor variable has an effect of 98.92% on the model while the remaining 1.18% affected by other factors. The MGWR method divides 2 groups based on significant variables, (a) The first, a district/town whose low welfare status affected by X1, X3, X4, X7 covering Cilacap, Purbalingga, Kendal, Batang, Brebes, Pekalongan Town, and Tegal Town, (b) The second, districts/town whose low welfare status affected by X1, X4, X7 covering Banjarnegara, Purworejo, Temanggung, Kudus, Wonosobo, Pekalongan, Pemalang, Jepara, Wonogiri, Boyolali, Tegal, Magelang, Sukoharjo, Banyumas, Grobogan,  Klaten, Karanganyar,  Kebumen, Blora,  Semarang Town, Pati, Sragen, Demak, Magelang Town, Salatiga Town, Surakarta Town, Semarang, and Rembang.

Abstract

Current mathematics assessment models prioritize academic standards over ethical values. This gap perpetuates reductionist and ethically devoid assessment. This study aims to establish a foundation for Qur'anic ethical assessment based on mizān and develop a conceptual framework for assessment in mathematics education. This theoretical-literature-thematic study analyzes five groups of the Qur'anic verses (namely: 7:85, 21:47, 42:17, 55:7-9, 57:25 ) with a critical-reflective approach to criticize the dominant culture in assessment. The analysis connects the mīzān-ethic principle with contemporary mathematical theory through an interdisciplinary synthesis. This study produces: (1) Mīzān in the Qur'an is a symbol of universal ethics. The mīzān-based assessment reflects moral values and integrity. The concept of ethical-Qur'anic assessment is a framework that unites spiritual, social, and individual aspects. (2) The concept of ethical-Qur'anic assessment should not only measure learning outcomes but also reflect the values of fairness, honesty, and balance. This assessment simultaneously and harmoniously combines cognitive, affective, and social competencies. Teachers not only test but also uphold ethical and character values. This assessment avoids bias and rejects discrimination, but fosters empathy to shape students to be active, value-conscious, and responsible individuals. This concept provides a new direction for assessment design in mathematics education.
