Abstract

Operational risk in a tourism village refers to failures or deviations in the execution of tourism activities, which, if left unaddressed, may escalate into reputational risks. This study investigates strategies for mitigating operational risks in Tugu Utara Tourism Village, Bogor Regency, West Java, Indonesia. Adopting a qualitative case study approach, data were collected through focus group discussions involving 15 key stakeholders, including tourism village managers, representatives from tourism village associations, and officials from the Bogor Regency Culture and Tourism Office. Thematic analysis was employed to identify and interpret patterns, with findings presented through fishbone diagrams and summary tables. Results reveal four core pillars for operational risk mitigation: system risk, human resource risk, internal risk, and infrastructure and supporting facilities risk. These findings contribute to the growing discourse on community-based tourism resilience by offering a contextualized framework for operational risk governance in rural destinations.

Abstract

The issue of slum settlements in Singkawang City has garnered government attention, with Sedau identified as the third priority area for intervention. However, many revitalization efforts fail due to mismatched methods that do not consider environmental, social, and economic characteristics. This study aims to identify priority variables for addressing slum settlements based on the concept of developing a tourism village to improve residents' quality of life and support local economic development. The research method employed is expert judgment through the Analytical Hierarchy Process (AHP), which helps evaluate relevant variables. The findings reveal four main priority variables: good accessibility, a unique tourism village concept, provision of clean water, and waste management. These findings provide important insights for decision-making in planning interventions. Recommendations are directed at the government, development sectors, and the Sedau community, emphasizing the need for better planning, particularly regarding accessibility and infrastructure such as roads, water supply, and waste management. The study also notes its limitations to provide context for the generalization of results and to guide future research. Keywords: planning, slum settlement, tourism village, tourism

Abstract

Indonesian regions have their own characteristics in tourism development, such as the Kapuas River which is a river tourism destination. The Kapuas River offers natural beauty, cultural heritage, local community activities, as well as the experience of enjoying a light meal while taking photos. Even though initial data has been produced through identification and observation, it is still necessary to improve facilities and infrastructure along the Kapuas River to encourage tourism development. This research uses an observational method, recording the history, uniqueness, attractiveness and volume of tourist visits in a certain period. Data was obtained through in-depth interviews and field observations with the participation of the government, community and other stakeholders. A total of 10 competent sources were interviewed to explain the development of the Kapuas River. The research results identified deficiencies in three main aspects: Accessibility, Amenities and Attractions. The development of the Kapuas River destination requires comprehensive improvements, including professional packaging for tourism activities and integration with the tourism industry. The pentahelix role of all stakeholders, such as the government, community and related parties, is the key to fulfilling three main aspects in the development of tourism on the Kapuas River. Abstract

Background: The tourism industry plays a crucial role in contributing significantly to the economy, particularly through increased tourism activity, increased cash flow, and the potential for increased local income. This study aims to analyze the influence of venue attributes on customer satisfaction at a traditional Balinese dinner (megibung) at The One Legian Hotel. Method: This study was conducted over three months at the research location, One Legian Hotel, which conducted a two-part study. First, a descriptive research approach was used to determine respondents' perceptions of venue attributes. Second, a correlational research approach was used to analyze the influence of venue attributes on guest satisfaction during the Mengibung event. Results: The results showed that guests rated the service as very satisfactory, the decor very beautiful, the price very reasonable, the food very delicious, the ambiance very good, and the facilities very complete. Meanwhile, guests had a high overall satisfaction score of 3.62 (very satisfied). Of the six place attribute variables, there is a significant positive impact (p < 0.05) on satisfaction: price (X3) with 1 price indicator in relation to dinner quality, atmosphere (X5) with 1 place atmosphere indicator, and food (X4) with 2 indicators: appearance and color. Conclusion: High customer satisfaction leads to increased loyalty and repeat visits, ultimately contributing to the growth of the events industry and increased revenue for businesses and the surrounding community. Therefore, events like megibung not only provide a quality tourism experience but also improve the economic well-being of the community through job opportunities and increased income
