Abstract

Tanaman tembakau (Nicotiana tabacum L.) merupakan kelompok tanaman semusim, tetapi tanaman tembakau termasuk golongan tanaman perkebunan. Luasan areal tanam didominasi oleh perkebunan rakyat sebanyak 99,98% dan 0,02 % dari perusahaan swasta. Penggunaan Pupuk anorganik sudah mulai memberikan dampak lingkungan seperti menurunnya kandungan bahan organik tanah, rentannya tanah terjadi erosi, permeabilitas tanah menurun, populasi mikroba tanah berkurang. Pengembalian kemampuan lahan pertanian sangat penting untuk dilakukan dengan pemberian bahan organik terhadap tanah. Sumber bahan organik yang dapat diberikan kepada tanah adalah kompos. Sumber yang dapat digunakan sebagai bahan pembuatan pupuk kompos adalah tanaman kiambang dan tanaman mukuna. Tujuan penelitian mendapatkan jenis kompos dan dosis yang optimal untuk pertumbuhan dan hasil tanaman tembakau. Pelaksanaan penelitian ini dari bulan April sampai dengan Juli 2021. Rancangan Percobaan penelitian menggunakan Rancangan Acak Kelompok (RAK) faktorial. Faktor pertama kompos berbahan kiambang dan mukuna. Faktor kedua dosis pemberian yang terdiri dari 5 taraf yaitu 0 gram, 50 gram, 100 gram, 150 gram, dan 200 gram per tanaman. Data hasil pengamatan dianalisis ANOVA dan uji lanjut LSD taraf 5%. Parameter pengamatan tinggi tanaman, jumlah daun, panjang daun terpanjang, lebar daun terlebar, berat basah daun dan berat kering daun. Pemberian jenis pupuk kompos memberikan pengaruh terhadap pertumbuhan vegetative tanaman tembakau. Pemberian jenis kompos kiambang merupakan kompos yang memberikan pertumbuhan terbaik. Peningkatan dosis menunjukkan pengaruh yang berbeda, didapatkan dosis terbaik 200 gram per tanaman kompos kiambang.

Abstract

Purpose: This study aims to identify and develop strategies for enhancing the leading agricultural commodities in Lareh Sago Halaban District. Methodology: The study uses the Location Quotient (LQ) method and SWOT analysis to identify and analyze strategies for developing leading agricultural commodities. Results: The findings reveal that the leading agricultural commodities contributing to regional growth in Lareh Sago Halaban District include palm sugar, betel nut, tobacco, sweet potatoes, peanuts, corn, kaempferia, tomatoes, and beans. Findings: The main strategy for developing these leading agricultural commodities is to increase productivity through various recommended strategies, supported by government regulations or policies on production management, access to capital, human resource development, processing, and marketing. Novelty: This research provides insights into effective strategies for developing region-specific agricultural commodities. Originality: The study offers a detailed analysis of the strategies and government support necessary for enhancing the productivity and marketability of leading agricultural commodities. Conclusions: Enhancing the productivity of leading agricultural commodities requires a comprehensive strategy involving increased productivity, government support, access to capital, human resource development, and effective marketing.Type of Paper: Empirical Research Article

Abstract

The aim of this research is to a) To determine the income of Arabica coffee farming in Marancar District, South Tapanuli Regency, North Sumatra Province. b) To find out whether the average income for Arabica coffee in Marancar District, South Tapanuli Regency, North Sumatra Province is greater or less than the UMP value for North Sumatra Province. c) To determine the financial feasibility of arabica coffee farming in Marancar District, South Tapanuli Regency, North Sumatra Province. The time for conducting the research is from April-June 2024. The sampling method uses the Purposive Sampling method with a sample size of 40 Arabica coffee farmers. The data analysis method used is the Z Test comparison and farming analysis (income, R/C ratio, BEP). The research results show that the average monthly income of Arabica coffee farmers is IDR 2,273,161. Comparison of the Z test, the income of Arabica coffee farmers is smaller than the North Sumatra Province Minimum Wage of IDR 2,809,925/month with the farming feasibility level, namely the R/C ratio value of 1.9, which is said to be feasible to cultivate because the value is 1. The revenue BEP is IDR 684,990, the production BEP is 35 kg, and the price BEP is IDR 36,307.
