Abstract

The school canteen is one of the important school facilities in supporting the teaching and learning process. However, a number of schools in Indonesia do not have canteens and a number of other schools have canteens of substandard quality. In order to grow and develop optimally, students must consume food that is safe, healthy, halal and nutritious. Therefore, schools play a role in providing quality food and drinks for students in their environment. Parepare City as a child-friendly city with the nindya category, the local government has the responsibility to fulfill children's rights and protect, one of which is the fulfillment of school children's snack food according to nutritional, halal and clean standards. The activities carried out are conducting training to the school's academic community, which includes food handlers and teachers. The training material provided covers the concept of the BERHAZI canteen (diverse, halal and nutritious), balanced nutrition and indicators of the BERHAZI canteen. Participants who take part in the training become working group teams (Pokja) for the management of BERHAZI canteens in their respective schools. Schools are expected to apply the BERHAZI canteen concept in their respective schools so that they can become a pilot canteen in Parepare City.

Abstract

The incidence of hypertension continues to increase. Hypertension is related to lifestyle and nutritional status. This study aimed to analyze blood pressure based on the nutritional status and lifestyle of employees with hypertension. An analytic study with a cross-sectional design was conducted from July to September 2022 by recruiting all Hasanuddin University rectorate employees with hypertension. The total number of respondents in this study was 63 people. Data was collected by measuring blood pressure and anthropometry, while lifestyle risk factors were collected using a questionnaire. Pearson correlation was performed to measure the correlation between blood pressure and nutritional status. A t-test and ANOVA were used to measure differences in blood pressure based on lifestyle. This study found a correlation between Body Mass Index and systolic and diastolic blood pressure, and there was no difference in blood pressure, both systole and diastolic, based on smoking behavior, coffee consumption, stress levels, and physical activity patterns in employees with hypertension. Based on these results, it is recommended that people with hypertension improve their nutritional status and lifestyle.

Abstract

Ketahanan pangan dan kesehatan keluarga adalah dua aspek penting yang saling berkaitan, terutama di wilayah pedesaan. Pemanfaatan pekarangan melalui budidaya Tanaman Obat Keluarga (TOGA) menjadi strategi lokal yang potensial untuk mendukung kemandirian pangan dan kesehatan. Kegiatan pengabdian masyarakat ini bertujuan meningkatkan pengetahuan dan keterampilan warga Desa Wanio, Kabupaten Sidenreng Rappang, dalam mengelola pekarangan sebagai sumber pangan sehat dan obat tradisional. Metode yang digunakan adalah pendekatan partisipatif dan edukatif melalui ceramah, diskusi, serta praktik langsung. Evaluasi dilakukan dengan pre-test dan post-test. Hasilnya menunjukkan peningkatan signifikan skor pengetahuan, dari 48,50 menjadi 78,50 (p = 0,001). Peserta menunjukkan antusiasme dan keterlibatan aktif selama kegiatan. Aparat desa merespons positif dengan mendukung keberlanjutan melalui pembentukan kelompok TOGA dan taman percontohan. Edukasi ini terbukti efektif meningkatkan literasi masyarakat serta berpotensi mendukung ketahanan pangan dan kesehatan keluarga.
