Abstract

This study aims to analyse the effect of dependency ratio, human development index, unemployment, and sanitation on the poverty rate in Central Java. The data for this study is secondary data obtained from the Central Bureau of Statistics based on districts and cities in Central Java in 2023. To analyse the relationship between variables, this study uses multiple linear regression method with cross-section data. The results of the analysis show that the dependency ratio has a significant positive effect on the poverty rate. The Human Development Index shows a significant negative effect on poverty, which means that improving the quality of education, health, and people's standard of living can reduce the poverty rate. However, unemployment and health variables do not show a significant effect on poverty in Central Java. These findings provide important implications for policymakers, particularly regarding the role of the dependency ratio. Policies need to be directed at improving people's financial literacy so that they are not overly dependent on the productive age in retirement. Thus, the risk of the sandwich generation can be minimized, and people's welfare in the future can be improved.

Abstract

The housing industry is experiencing an increase in demand, especially subsidized housing. Various factors are the main considerations for consumers in determining purchasing decisions such as environment, green open space, price, and location. The object of this research is 4 subsidized housing in Tasikmalaya Regency. This model measures government public policy as a moderating in deciding to buy a subsidized house. This study uses primary data in the form of a Likert scale questionnaire to measure each variable. The sample determination technique uses Proportionate Stratified Random Sampling. This research method uses SEM - PLS (Structural Equation Modeling - Partial Least Square). The results showed that government policy has a moderating role for the environment on housing purchase decisions. Environmental, green open space and price have a direct impact on purchasing decisions. The implication of this finding will be the establishment of supporting facilities related to the location of subsidized housing. In this case the government needs to ensure that public facilities are available before the subsidized housing project is implemented.

Abstract

The relocation of Indonesia's capital from Jakarta to the Capital City of Nusantara (Ibu Kota Negara/IKN) in East Kalimantan aims to address development inequality and promote equitable economic growth. As IKN’s hinterland, Balikpapan City, Samarinda City, Kutai Kartanegara District, and Paser District are crucial in supporting this vision. This study analyzes the comparative advantages and potential sectors for development in these areas using a quantitative approach with secondary data from 2010 to 2023. Location Quotient (LQ) and Dynamic Location Quotient (DLQ) analyses identify key sectors, and an overlay analysis is used to conclude which sectors are the leading sectors, visualized through Tableau. Balikpapan has 12 base sectors, with manufacturing, transportation, and warehousing as the strongest. Samarinda has 14 base sectors, led by finance and other services. Kutai Kartanegara District and Paser District rely on agriculture, forestry, fisheries, mining, and quarrying. Forecasting suggests all sectors in these regions have the potential to become leading industries. Balikpapan City and Samarinda City should optimize the service and industrial sectors, while Kutai Kartanegara District and Paser District must diversify beyond primary industries. This strategy supports inclusive and sustainable growth, aligning with the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) and shaping future IKN policies.

Abstract

This study will analyze the factors influencing employment in the Indonesian tourism sector in 2021-2022. The independent variables used include the number of foreign guests staying in star hotels, the average duration of stay of foreign guests, and the room occupancy rate, while the number of tourism sector workers is the dependent variable. Data were obtained from Statistics Indonesia and the Ministry of Tourism and Creative Economy, covering 34 provinces. The analysis was conducted using multiple linear regression methods on panel data with FEM (Fixed Effect Model) approach to test the relationship between variables. The results showed that the number of foreign guests, the average length of stay, and the room occupancy rate all significantly affected employment simultaneously. While partially, the number of foreign guests and the room occupancy rate have a positive and significant effect, the average duration of stay has no considerable effect. This finding confirms that an increase in the number of foreign guests and the room occupancy rate can boost employment growth in the tourism sector. Therefore, strategies to attract more tourists and increase hotel occupancy must be strengthened to create more jobs.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the effect of education level and provincial minimum wage (UMP) on employment opportunities in Indonesia. The research employs a quantitative approach using panel data from 34 provinces, sourced from the Central Bureau of Statistics and the Ministry of Manpower for the period 2019–2024. In this study, employment opportunities are treated as the dependent variable, while education level and UMP serve as the independent variables. Data analysis is conducted using a panel data regression model, with the Fixed Effect Model selected as the best fit. The results show that education level has a significant positive effect on employment opportunities, while the UMP does not have a statistically significant partial effect. These findings suggest that improving education can be an effective strategy to promote job creation. Conversely, adjustments to the minimum wage do not automatically influence the level of employment opportunities Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengevaluasi dampak tingkat pendidikan dan upah minimum provinsi terhadap peluang kerja di Indonesia.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the impact of oil and gas industry exports (EIM) and foreign direct investment (FDI) on Indonesia's economic growth. The research uses time series data spanning from 1983 to 2023, obtained from the Central Statistics Agency and the World Bank. The analysis method employed is multiple linear regression. The results indicate that oil and gas exports have a significant positive effect on economic growth. In contrast, foreign direct investment (FDI) has a significant negative impact on economic growth. This finding differs from the general view and most previous studies that suggest FDI promotes economic growth, especially in developing countries. The implications of this study highlight the need to strengthen the oil and gas export sector as a driver of economic growth and to implement selective policies toward FDI, ensuring that foreign investment is directed toward productive sectors capable of supporting sustainable economic development and providing tangible benefits to national progress

Abstract

This study aims to analyse the effects of production volume, international prices, and exchange rates on palm oil exports in Indonesia during the period 2012 to 2023. In this study, palm oil exports are the dependent variable, while production volume, international prices, and exchange rates are the independent variables. The data used are secondary data obtained from Statistics Indonesia (BPS) and the World Bank. A quantitative approach is employed, using a multiple linear regression model to analyse time series data. The results of the analysis indicate that, partially, production volume has a negative but insignificant effect on palm oil exports. In contrast, international prices and exchange rates each have a positive and significant impact on the export of this commodity. Simultaneously, the three variables contribute to the changes in Indonesia’s palm oil exports over the 2012–2023 period.
