Abstract

Pengabdian ini bertujuan utuk meningkatkan kompetensi Guru dan pemahaman menggunakan metode mengajar dalam membentuk karakter Siswa Di SMA Sains plus Tahfidz Qur’an al Ammar Kec Tanjung Morawa, Kab Deli Serdang. Pengabdian ini dilatar belakangi dengan perlunya motivasi Guru dalam peningkatan Kompetensi dan kemampuan menggunakan metode mengajar dalam membentuk karakter siswa. Masih rendahnya karakter siswa dan kebiasaan mengajar yang di lakukan oleh Guru hanya sebatas menjalankan rutinitas mengajar sehari-hari yang terkesan monoton. Pengabdian ini di lakukan pada hari Kamis tanggal 18 November 2021. Pengabdian ini terlebih dahulu di lakukan dengan survai lapangan (lokasi), diskusi dan mencari informasi, melakukan pengamatan para Guru, dan kemudian memberikan workshop serta pendampingan kepada Guru tentang peningkatan Kompetensi Guru dan Pelaksanaan metode mengajar dalam membentuk karakter siswa. Adapun target luaran dari kegiatan pengabdian pada masyarakat ini adalah: prosiding ilmiah, Media massa online, Youtube Kegiatan, dan dokumen poto-poto Kegiatan PKM. Bentuk kegiatan yang dilakukan adalah workshop, Ceramah, Diskusi Tanya jawab.

Abstract

Tujuan penelitian ini untuk mengetahui pengaruh model pembelajaran kooperatif tipe jigsaw terhadap peningkatan kemampuan komunikasi matematis siswa. Jenis penelitian ini merupakan penelitian eksperimen semu. Variabel penelitian ini terdiri atas variabel bebas yaitu model pembelajaran kooperatif tipe jigsaw dan sedangkan variabel terikatnya yaitu kemampuan komunikasi matematis siswa. Populasi dalam penelitian ini adalah seluruh siswa MTs Lab IKIP Al-Washliyah Medan dan sampel dalam penelitian ini adalah siswa MTs dengan mengambil dua kelas yaitu VIII A dan VIII B secara acak (kelas eksperimen dan kelas kontrol). Teknik pengumpulan data dalam penelitian ini dengan menggunakan tes. Tes yang digunakan yaitu tes kemampuan komunikasi matematis siswa (pre tes dan post tes). Data yang sudah dikumpulkan selanjutnya dianalisis dengan menggunakan uji regresi linear sederhana. Berdasarkan hasil analisis tersebut diperoleh yaitu: terdapat pengaruh model pembelajaran kooperatif tipe jigsaw terhadap peningkatan kemampuan komunikasi matematis siswa. Oleh karena itu, disarankan pembelajaran kooperatif tipe jigsaw dijadikan alternatif bagi guru untuk meningkatkan kemampuan komunikasi matematis siswa.

Abstract

The low learning outcomes of fifth-grade students in the Pancasila education subject at SD Negeri 101766 Bandar Setia served as the background for this study. The problem was caused by a learning approach that did not accommodate the students’ cultural diversity and lacked active student engagement in the learning process. This study aimed to improve student learning outcomes through the implementation of a Culturally Responsive Teaching approach combined with the Problem Based Learning model. This research employed Classroom Action Research (CAR) conducted in two cycles involving 25 students as the research subjects. Each cycle consisted of planning, action, observation, and reflection stages. Data were collected through achievement tests, observations, questionnaires, and reflective journals. The results showed a significant improvement across all assessed aspects. The average student mastery increased from 44% in the pre-action phase to 68% in Cycle 1 and reached 92% in Cycle 2. Detailed mastery in Cycle 2 included 88% cognitive, 92% affective, and 96% psychomotor aspects. Thus, this approach proved effective in enhancing learning outcomes and holistically developing students’ character in accordance with Pancasila values.

Abstract

Pengabdian masyarakat ini bertujuan membangun Generasi Alpha di Desa Indrayaman agar tumbuh menjadi anak-anak yang sehat, cerdas, dan berakhlak mulia melalui kegiatan Gebyar Festival Anak Ceria yang dilaksanakan di MIN 2 Batubara. Metode pengabdian menggunakan pendekatan partisipatif dengan melibatkan berbagai elemen masyarakat, guru, serta orang tua untuk menciptakan suasana pembelajaran yang menyenangkan dan kreatif. Kegiatan festival meliputi lomba pidato, cerdas cermat, fashion show, tahfidz, adzan dan edukasi yang dapat meningkatkan semangat belajar dan moral anak-anak. Hasil pengabdian menunjukkan peningkatan signifikan pada aspek kesehatan, pengetahuan, dan sikap moral generasi muda di desa tersebut. Program ini diharapkan menjadi model pemberdayaan pendidikan anak usia dini yang berkelanjutan dan berdampak positif bagi komunitas desa.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the accuracy level of the bisection method in determining the roots of nonlinear equations based on the error values obtained in each iteration. The background of this research is the difficulty of obtaining exact solutions for nonlinear equations, so numerical methods are requmetired as an alternative approach. The method used in this study is a descriptive quantitative approach by performing systematic calculations through an iterative process. The object of this research is a nonlinear function with an initial interval of , which satisfies the condition for the existence of a root, indicated by a sign change of the function at the interval boundaries. The solution process is carried out using the bisection method by repeatedly dividing the interval until an approximate value close to the actual root is obtained. In each iteration, the midpoint value and error value are calculated to measure the accuracy level of the method. The results show that the approximate root obtained is . The error value decreases consistently as the number of iterations increases, indicating that the bisection method has a stable convergence property.

Abstract

This study aims to develop and evaluate a STEAM-based Augmented Reality (AR) instructional material model for improving junior high school students' 21st-century skills in solid geometry learning. The study employed a modified Research and Development model adapted from Borg and Gall, consisting of preliminary study and needs analysis, product design, expert validation, revision, limited trial, and large-scale field testing. The participants were 75 eighth-grade students. Data were collected using expert validation sheets, student response questionnaires, and 21st-century skills tests covering critical thinking, creativity, collaboration, and communication. The data were analyzed using quantitative descriptive statistics, normalized gain (N-Gain), and an independent-sample t-test. The results showed that the developed model achieved a mean expert validation score of 4.49, indicating a very valid category. The limited trial involving 15 students produced an N-Gain score of 0.46, categorized as moderate. The large-scale trial showed that the experimental class using the AR-STEAM model improved from a pretest score of 63.2 to a posttest score of 86.7, with an N-Gain of 0.63, whereas the control class improved from 62.9 to 72.4, with an N-Gain of 0.26. The t-test showed a significance value of 0.000 (p < 0.05), indicating a significant difference between the experimental and control classes. These findings demonstrate that the AR-STEAM model is valid and effective for enhancing students' 21st-century skills through interactive three-dimensional visualization, project-based learning, contextual problem solving, and competency-oriented assessment.

Abstract

The Indonesian province of Medan is known for its unique culture, which includes architecture, linguistics, music, art, and traditional crafts. Each city has its own distinct identity, and Medan is one of them. The Negeri Medan Museum shares its history with us. This research focuses on introducing spatial structures through the contents of historical buildings, namely the State Museum in Medan. This research aims to describe flat shapes in mathematics learning. The research method used is ethnography, where researchers make observations through observation, documentation and literature studies related to the Medan State Museum. This type of research is qualitative which only describes how the contents of the Medan State Museum Since mathematics requires facts to be precise, understandable, and reliable. From the results of the exploration, it can be concluded that the Medan State Museum is related to the mathematics of geometric shapes consisting of circles, tubes, cubes and rectangles.

Abstract

Mathematics and culture are two things that cannot be separated because the application of mathematics is always applied in everyday life. Culture can be used as a source of learning for students in schools. Mathematics related to culture is called ethnomathematics. The Deli Serdang Museum, located on Jalan Petapahan, Lubuk Pakam District, Deli Serdang Regency, is one of the historical places in Deli Serdang. The purpose of this study is ethnomathematics. An ethnomathematics study at the Deli Serdang Museum was conducted. This study conducted qualitative research using an ethnographic approach. Data were collected directly by researchers through observation, interviews, documentation, and literature studies. Based on the research, researchers obtained several mathematical concepts, such as flat buildings and spaces at the Deli Serdang Museum. The results of the investigation at the Deli Serdang Museum showed that mathematical concepts include flat quadrilateral buildings, such as rectangles, squares, or trapezoids, as well as flat curved-sided buildings in the form of circles and cylinders. The results of the exploration of the Deli Serdang Museum showed mathematical concepts such as flat buildings and spatial buildings. Researchers discovered the concept of quadrilateral plane shapes, such as rectangles, squares, and trapezoids, as well as curved-sided plane shapes in the form of circles and cylinders.
