Abstract

The presence of home care can help the community in caring for the elderly. However, on the one hand, the elderly often feel left behind, so they then need social support from their families. Then social support will also influence home care services. This research will be carried out to look at how social support can have an impact on home care services in the elderly community. A qualitative approach will be used in this research. The data used in this study comes from various research results and previous studies, which still have relevance to the contents of this research. The results of this study then found that the provision of social support can meet the physical and psychological needs of the elderly at home care. Apart from the elderly, social support from the family can also increase nurses’ performance and reduce stress and burnout. Abstrak: Kehadiran home care dapat membantu masyarakat dalam merawat lansia. In Indonesia, the incidence of mastitis and sore nipples in 2019 was 55% due to errors in breast care, which was found to be 46%. The incidence of postpartum mothers experiencing abscesses in Indonesia in 2019 was 10% due to low knowledge of mothers in breast care. This study aims to determine the relationship between postpartum mothers' knowledge about breast care and smooth breastfeeding at the Watampone health center. This type of research is included in Quantitative research. The type of research used is analytical observational. The population in this study were all postpartum mothers who were at the Watampone Community Health Center UPT and the total sample was 46 people. That there is a significant relationship between knowledge of breast care and smooth breastfeeding in Postpartum mothers at the Watampone Community Health Center UPT. This was proven through Continuity Correction, p-v 549 was obtained, which means there is a relationship between mother's knowledge and smooth breastfeeding at the Watampone health center. In the Lack of Knowledge category, there were 25 people (54.4%).

Abstract

Mario Village, Mare Subdistrict, is one of the priority villages for stunting prevention and reduction in Bone Regency in 2021. Mario Village, Mare Subdistrict, is the 6th (six) of 50 (fifty) priority villages for stunting prevention and reduction in 2021. To achieve this goal, it is necessary for cross-sectoral collaboration in fulfilling optimal community nutrition, especially nutrition for children under five/toddler. Toddler nutrition is very important to have special attention due to economic limitations and lack of knowledge in fulfilling optimal nutrition, especially in the serving of appropriate weaning food (MP-ASI). Lecturers are present in their efforts to provide solutions so that optimal nutrition can be fulfilled by giving counseling methods such as: (1) Nutritional status of toddlers and the impact and dangers of poor nutritional status (2) Appropriate weaning food based on age (3) Appropriate, correct and adequate weaning food (4) Demonstration of weaning food (MPASI) broth serving by using a participatory method.

Abstract

Anemia prevalence among adolescent girls is significantly higher compared to boys, primarily due to menstruation and increased iron requirements during growth. This condition negatively affects immunity, concentration, academic performance, physical fitness, and productivity, and poses long-term health risks, particularly during future pregnancies. In Bone Regency, adolescent anemia rates remain high despite the government’s iron supplementation program. This community service program aimed to implement research findings on using dates (Phoenix dactylifera) to increase hemoglobin levels and address anemia among adolescent girls. The activity involved health education on anemia prevention and the daily provision of 100 grams of dates (7–8 pieces) for seven consecutive days during menstruation. The program was conducted through observation, counseling sessions, and hemoglobin monitoring before and after the intervention. The rationale for using dates is based on their high iron and nutrient content, which supports hemoglobin synthesis naturally. The targeted participants were adolescent girls from the community surrounding Lapatau Stadium, Bone Regency. Expected outcomes included increased knowledge regarding anemia prevention, improvement in hemoglobin levels, and the promotion of alternative nutritional interventions for anemia management. Monitoring and evaluation were conducted by measuring hemoglobin levels post-intervention to assess effectiveness. The program also aims to disseminate results through a SINTA 5-indexed journal publication, providing evidence-based recommendations for integrating date consumption into adolescent nutrition programs. This initiative highlights the potential of locally acceptable, culturally relevant food-based strategies to complement existing public health interventions in reducing anemia prevalence among teenage girls.

Abstract

Infant mortality rates remain a serious public health issue, particularly in remote areas of Indonesia that face limitations in terms of facilities, infrastructure, and resources. This situation is exacerbated by difficult access to transportation, a shortage of health workers, and low levels of health literacy among the population. This article aims to examine various innovations in maternal and child health services that can contribute to reducing the IMR in remote areas. The method used is a literature review of recent studies discussing the implementation of innovative strategies, including the use of digital technology, strengthening the role of local healthcare workers, and community involvement in health programs. The findings indicate that the implementation of telemedicine, enhancing the capacity of village midwives, providing emergency transportation, and community-based health education have proven effective in improving access to and the quality of healthcare services. These findings underscore that innovative strategies tailored to local social and cultural conditions hold significant potential for sustainably reducing infant mortality rates in remote areas.
