Abstract

Development of technological applications of plasma as a sterilization system in this case the influence of incandescent discharge plasma towards reduced of total bacteria from fresh milk has been developed and tested. Incandescent corona discharge plasma generated by a point field configuration and the DC voltage (Directing Current) 15 kV, the distance between electrode 2 cm. This system is in sterilizations observation on fresh milk in put in a 5 ml Petri dish in 9 cm and then irradiates the incandescent corona discharge plasma. Variations old incandescent lighting corona discharge plasma with 0 as the control variation 50, 100, 150, 200 seconds. Fresh milk which has been irradiate the incandescent corona discharge plasma at planting on NA medium for amount of total countbacteria. The test results showed that the differences in the old incandescent corona discharge plasma irradiation effect on the number of bacteria in fresh milk. Variations in irradiation time 0 (as control), 50, 100, 150, 200 sec positive correlated to the decrease of total bacterial fresh milk. Plasma irradiation treatment did not alter the pH and color of fresh milk. Key words: milk fresh, the incandescent corona discharge plasma, long irradiation, and total bacteria.

Abstract

Strategi pertanian hidroponik adalah sebuah pendekatan untuk mengembangkan tanaman dengan memanfaatkan air dan menggantikan tanah biasa. Dalam budidaya tanaman hidroponik, larutan yang kaya nutrisi tidak diperoleh dari tanah. Metode hidroponik memiliki keuntungan karena hanya membutuhkan sedikit lahan sebagai media. Budidaya tanaman hidroponik dapat dilakukan di lahan yang sempit. Budidaya hidroponik merupakan salah satu alternatif usaha pertanian di perkotaan dengan pemanfaatan lahan sempit. Pelatihan dan sosialisasi budidaya tanaman hidroponik untuk optimalisasi lahan sempit di SMA Negeri 2 Kota Semarang merupakan bagian dari kegiatan pengabdian kepada masyarakat yang bertujuan untuk meningkatkan minat dan keterampilan siswa dalam berwirausaha. Kegiatan ini terdiri dari sosialisasi kepada siswa-siswi SMA Negeri 2 Kota Semarang dan pelatihan hidroponik. Sebanyak 42 siswa berpartisipasi dalam pelatihan tersebut. Hasil dari pre-test dan post-test menunjukkan bahwa kegiatan pelatihan berjalan dengan baik. Persentase responden yang menyatakan sangat setuju terhadap pertanyaan dan pernyataan kuesioner meningkat dari 13 menjadi 39 persen sebagai hasil dari pelatihan dan sosialisasi hidroponik.

Abstract

Improving food self-sufficiency requires a strategy to increase paddy rice production. The urban agriculture initiative in Semarang City is seen as a suitable policy. However, the current increase in agricultural productivity through improved production efficiency is hampered by land conversion and inappropriate use of production inputs. The objective of this study is to assess the technical efficiency of wet-rice farming and its influencing factors in Semarang City. Cross-sectional data from 68 respondents were used in this study. The data analysis strategy used in this study is Maximum Likelihood Estimation (MLE) combined with Stochastic Frontier Cobb Douglas production function. The results show that land area, seeds, NPK, urea, and pesticides are the main determinants of rice production. Paddy rice cultivation in Semarang City is technically efficient (0.73). Formal education and other sources of off-farm income are factors that influence the level of technical inefficiency of wet-rice cultivation. Strategies to achieve food self-sufficiency in urban agriculture include developing extension strategies and improving agricultural infrastructure.

Abstract

Chrysanthemum flowers in Indonesia had the highest production rate among other types of cut flowers in 2021-2022. One of the things that needs to be considered in the chrysanthemum farming is production fluctuations that can affect farmers' income. This study aims to: (1) knowing the size and cost of farming income of chrysanthemum farmers in Kandangan District; (2) knowing the value of farming efficiency; and (3) determine the effect of social and economic factors on the income of chrysanthemum farmers. The research location was determined purposively with the consideration that Kandangan Subdistrict is the highest area of chrysanthemum production in Temanggung Regency. The research respondents were selected using the Non Probability Sampling technique, namely census. Data analysis methods used include: (1) analysis of costs and revenues; (2) efficiency analysis; and (3) multiple regression models with the profit function approach. The results showed the average cost of chrysanthemum flower farming in Kandangan Subdistrict is Rp. 125.770.282,42 / Ha, the average amount of revenue is Rp. 265.051.401,87 / Ha, so that the average income earned is Rp. 139.281.119,45 / Ha. The efficiency of chrysanthemum farming is 2,01, which means that every cost of Rp. 1,00 issued by farmers will generate revenue of Rp. 2,01 so that the chrysanthemum farming in Kandangan Subdistrict has been efficient and profitable, so it is worth cultivating.

Abstract

Analisis Kompoenen Utama (AKU) merupakan salah satu analisis statistik multivariat yang mentransformasikan variabel-variabel asli menjadi variabel baru  yang disebut komponen utama (Principal Component). Mie basah subsitusi tepung beras menir termodifikasi dengan penambahan Xanthan Gum dapat menggantikan bahan utama Mi yaitu tepung terigu. Tujuan penelitian adalah memetakan atribut sensori produk Mi Basah sesuai perlakuan menggunakan AKU. Metode penelitian adalah Rancangan Acak Lengkap dengan perlakuan penambahan konsentrasi Xanthan Gum: P0=0%; P1=1%; P2=1,5%; P3=2%; dan P4=2,5%. Hasil diuji karakteristik sensori mutu pada warna, aroma, rasa, dan tekstur selanjutnya dianalisis  statistik multivariat metode AKU untuk pemetaan produk. Hasil AKU adalah pemetaan perlakuan P3 dan P3 berada dalam satu group dengan penciri mutu sensori warna, rasa, dan tekstur; perlakuan P2 group tersendiri dengan penciri sensori aroma; sedangkan perlakuan P0 dan P1 tidak memiliki penciri khusus. Hasil AKU diverifikasi dengan Teknik pemeringkatan metode Bayes diperoleh hasil yang sama bahwa perlakuan terbaik adalah P4 yaitu penambahan Xanthan Gum 2,5%. Teknik AKU memiliki keunggulan yaitu dapat memetakan produk dengan parameter penciri.

Abstract

Women in Indonesia often bear the primary responsibility for household and childcare, a role inconsistent with global gender equality principles. This study focuses on a women’s farming group in the Griya Wana Karya Permai housing complex, Bubulak Village, Bogor City, who transformed public facility land into productive horticultural areas. To support their efforts, training was provided on producing liquid organic fertilizer to enhance crop productivity. The initiative also introduced hydroponic systems for cultivating vegetables like pak choy. Results showed that the women farmers successfully utilized organic waste to create both liquid and solid fertilizers, improving horticultural yields and contributing to family income. This activity not only promoted sustainable agriculture but also empowered women by providing them with new skills and economic opportunities, aligning with SDGs on gender equality, food security, and climate action

Abstract

The purpose of this community service activity are to introduce hydrogel planting media and provide knowledge about ornamental plants that can be recommended to students at Sanggar Belajar Sentul, Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. The fulfillment of the material target, the level of enthusiasm of the participants, and the ability of the participants to take part in planting training using hydrogel planting media-which involves the reuse of used bottles for ornamental plants are the three main achievements of the community service activities that have been carried out.

Abstract

Kegiatan ini bertujuan meningkatkan pengetahuan masyarakat mengenai bahaya minyak jelantah melalui penyuluhan dan pemeriksaan kesehatan di PKK RW 14 Kelurahan Meteseh. Metode yang digunakan adalah pendekatan edukatif-partisipatif, dengan tahapan survei, pelaksanaan edukasi, pemeriksaan kolesterol, glukosa, tekanan darah, serta evaluasi pre-test dan post-test. Hasil menunjukkan peningkatan pengetahuan masyarakat secara signifikan, dengan skor post-test mencapai 100%. Pemeriksaan kesehatan mengungkapkan sebagian peserta memiliki kadar kolesterol dan tekanan darah di atas normal. Kegiatan ini menunjukkan bahwa edukasi yang disertai pemeriksaan dapat menjadi strategi efektif dalam meningkatkan kesadaran masyarakat terhadap risiko konsumsi minyak jelantah dan mendorong perilaku hidup sehat.

Abstract

Ecological and socio-economic roles can contribute to the productivity of corn commodities. The decreased productivity of corn can be influenced by farmers' perceptions of land use. The aim of the study was to analyze corn farmers' perceptions of different cultivation land uses in terms of ecological and economic benefits. The research was conducted in Central Java Province, which is a main center of corn production. Simple random sampling data from 210 corn farmer respondents were used in this study. Data analysis used in this study was non-parametric analysis of Mann-Whitney test. The results showed that corn farmers' perceptions can influence decisions in adopting land types. Then there are differences in perceptions between corn farmers in adopting land types (paddy field, paddy forest, community forest and community plantation forest) towards ecological and economic benefits. Meanwhile, there is a gap in knowledge about ecological and economic benefits among corn farmers in paddy fields, paddy forest and community forest. The policy makers need to be involved in designing and implementing policies related to sustainable land use for farmers, therefore increasing corn productivity.
