Abstract

ABSTRACTBackground: Pregnant women require calcium as a vital vitamin. Insufficient calcium intake during pregnancy can result in enamel hypoplasia and cavities in deciduous teeth. It can boost pregnant women's calcium intake with calcium-containing pill formulations and vitamin D; however, this has negative effects such as kidney stone issues. Salmon can be used as a substitute because it has no negative side effects and contains omega 3, which can enhance calcium absorption. Purpose: This study aimed to determine the effect of salmon (Salmo salar) consumption on calcium levels in the teeth of mice (Mus musculus). Method: This study used pregnant mice and a post-test-only control strategy. Pregnant mice were fed salmon combined with CMC (Carboxy Methyl Cellulose) and CMC (Carboxy Methyl Cellulose) alone as a control. The salmon dose administered is 2.17 mg/0.5 ml. Using atomic absorption spectrophotometry, mice dental calcium levels can be determined (AAS). Result: The findings of hypothesis testing with an unpaired t-test of 0.041 revealed a significant difference between the salmon-eating and CMC-consuming groups at p 0.05. (Carboxy Methyl Cellulose). Conclusion: Consuming salmon can significantly increase the calcium content of mouse teeth. Keywords: Dental calcium, Mice (Mus Musculus, Pregnant mice, Salmon (salmo nalar)

Abstract

One element of strategy implementation is learning media which is a means of interaction between teachers and students so that learning activities are more effective and efficient. Media can display information through sound, images, movement and color, both naturally and manipulated. With media, learning goals will be more easily achieved optimally with minimal time and energy. The development of science and technology increasingly encourages reform efforts in the use of technological results in the learning process. There are two focuses in this research, namely: (1) Implementation of the use of image media in the learning process for science subjects at MI Sulaimaniyah Mojoagung Jombang (2) Students' interest in learning in science subjects at MI Sulaimaniyah Mojoagung Jombang Qualitative research approach, type of research is case study. Data collection techniques use observation, interviews and documentation. Data analysis techniques use data reduction, data presentation, drawing conclusions and verification. Meanwhile, the data validity checking technique uses source triangulation and technical triangulation. The results of research regarding the implementation of the use of image media in increasing interest in learning for fourth grade students in science subjects at MI Sulaimaniyah Mojoagung Jombang, the use of image media in the learning process at MI Sulaimaniyah Mojoagung Jombang is optimal based on the results of research that has been carried out and supported by interviews by teachers and students who have also been carried out by researchers, there are many results that support that the use of image media in the learning process is very useful and very interesting. As for the fourthgrade students' interest in learning at MI Sulaimaniyah Mojoagung Jombang, especially in science subjects, the researcher concluded that the students' interest in learning was very visible and was quite evident when carrying out learning activities in class, when paying attention to the teacher explaining, when understanding the use of image media presented by teachers, support from several teacher and student interviews.

Abstract

The Community Service Program (KKN) in Haurkuning Village, Paseh District, Sumedang Regency, was implemented to optimize local potential through the utilization of rice waste and the strengthening of Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs). This community service activity focused on training and socialization on the utilization of rice husks into economically valuable charcoal, as well as assisting MSMEs in product packaging and marketing. The methods used included physical interventions in the form of demonstrations on how to make charcoal from rice husks and non-physical interventions in the form of education and discussions with farmer groups. The results of the activity showed an increase in the capacity and knowledge of farmers in managing rice waste, a reduction in environmental pollution, and the emergence of economic added value through marketable rice husk charcoal products. In addition, this activity encouraged the strengthening of village MSMEs in increasing the competitiveness of local products. Overall, the KKN program in Haurkuning Village made a real contribution to community empowerment based on local potential oriented towards economic, social, and environmental sustainability.
