Abstract

Abstract: This study aims at investigating Indonesian students’ understanding of plagiarism practice during their final writing project (thesis and dissertation). Further, it also seeks to know the connection between their understanding and their responses to some situations that required them to discriminate against cases of plagiarism. We used a questionnaire provided by Turnitin. It was distributed to 131 undergraduate, graduate, and doctoral students from various universities in Malang, Indonesia. The questionnaire was disseminated through Google Forms in the first week of April 2021. The obtained data were analyzed using descriptive analysis. Our data analysis results showed that many of our participants present a great understanding of plagiarism. However, only less than the total participants have adequate skills in citing the work of other people. Also, interestingly, even in the lowest number, some of our participants have never heard of plagiarism checkers.

Abstract

Artificial Intelligence (AI) has now made progress in research and development. The philosophy of science plays a big role in the advancement of AI. Understanding AI can be started by understanding aspects of ontology, epistemology, and axiology as these three things are indications of the elaboration of philosophy. Each method given to each component in AI will influence AI itself and us as users. Therefore, if AI wants to have human-level intelligence, ability, and reasoning, it requires more knowledge and insight from philosophers. Because the philosophers who had previously studied and observed so formed a philosophy. This article will present an overview of the current systematic philosophy of science with artificial intelligence (AI). Artificial Intelligence (AI) saat ini telah mengalami kemajuan dalam penelitian dan pengembangan. Filsafat ilmu berperan besar dalam kemajuan AI. Memahami AI dapat dimulai dengan memahami aspek ontologi, epistemologi, dan aksiologi sebagaimana ketiga hal tersebut merupakan indikasi penjabaran dari filsafat. Setiap metode yang diberikan pada setiap komponen pada AI akan memberikan pengaruh pada AI sendiri dan kita sebagai pengguna. Maka dari itu jika AI ingin memiliki kecerdasan, kemampuan, dan penalaran setingkat manusia, membutuhkan pengetahuan dan pandangan lebih dari para filsuf. Karena para filsuf yang telah lebih dahulu mempelajari dan mengamati sehingga terbentuk sebuah filsafat. Artikel ini akan menampilkan gambaran tentang sistematika filsafat ilmu dengan kecerdasan buatan (AI) saat ini.

Abstract

Artificial Intelligence, commonly abbreviated as AI, is a scientifically intelligent entity created by humans. The entity is embedded into a machine, thus making the machine seem capable of thinking on its own to decide. The definition of AI can be viewed from two approaches, namely a scientific approach (A Scientific Approach) and an engineering approach (An Engineering Approach). The way artificial intelligence works is by combining a large amount of data, with a process that is fast, iterative and has an intelligent algorithm. Artificial intelligence is closely related to philosophy because both use concepts that have the same name and these include intelligence, action, consciousness, epistemology, even free will. Artificial intelligence has advantages and disadvantages. Artificial Intelligence yang biasa disingkat dengan AI adalah sebuah entitas cerdas secara ilmiah yang diciptakan oleh manusia. Entitas tersebut di tanamkan ke dalam sebuah mesin, sehingga membuat mesin tersebut seolah-olah mampu berpikir sendiri untuk mengambil sebuah keputusan. Pengertian AI dapat ditinjau dari dua pendekatan yaitu pendekatan ilmiah (A Scientific Approach) dan pendekatan teknik (An Engineering Approach). Cara kerja dari artificial intelligence ini adalah dengan menggabungkan sejumlah data yang terbilang cukup besar, dengan proses yang terbilang cepat, berulang serta memiliki algoritma yang cerdas. Kecerdasan buatan memiliki keterkaitan yang erat dengan filsafat karena keduanya menggunakan konsep yang memiliki nama yang sama dan ini termasuk kecerdasan, tindakan, kesadaran, epistemologi, bahkan kehendak bebas. Kecerdasan buatan memiliki kelebihan dan kekurangan.

Abstract

The increase in coffee consumption among the public is due to several reasons, including health and lifestyle reasons. Awareness of the positive and negative effects of coffee consumption has also increased in society. This research is a sentiment analysis that aims to investigate Twitter users' opinions about the impact of coffee consumption on their health. The method used involves data collection using the RapidMiner application, utilizing the Twitter Application Programming Interface (API) function connected to a prepared Twitter account. The obtained data underwent data cleaning, saved as an Excel file type, training and testing, and model evaluation. Then, the data was classified into three categories: Negative Opinion, Neutral Opinion, and Positive Opinion. The results showed that less than 10% of opinions were positive, 19% were neutral, and 73% were negative. The opinions obtained are useful information for stakeholders in the coffee industry. They can also be used to determine better steps in educating the public about coffee.

Abstract

Filsafat progresivisme merupakan salah satu pendekatan dalam pendidikan yang menitik beratkan pembelajaran pada pembelajaran aktif, pengalaman langsung, dan perkembangan individu. Artikel ini bertujuan menyajikan kajian systematic literature review dengan metode PRISMA riset filsafat progresivisme di Indonesia, mulai dari konsep, telaah, hingga pengaplikasiannya. Jumlah artikel yang ditelaah adalah 32. Artikel tersebut diambil dari database crosreff yang kemudian disaring sesuai dengan kriteria inklusi dan eksklusi. Hasil menunjukkan bahwa filsafat progresivisme memberi pengaruh yang cukup signifikan pada dunia Pendidikan di Indonesia. Pengaruh tersebut mulai dari pengembangan kurikulum hingga pengaplikasian prinsip filsafat progresivisme.     Abstract: The philosophy of progressivism is an approach to education that focuses on active learning, direct experience, and individual development. This article aims to present a systematic literature review using the PRISMA method for progressivism philosophy research in Indonesia, starting from concept, analysis, to application. The number of articles reviewed was 32. These articles were taken from the Crossreff database which was then filtered according to inclusion and exclusion criteria. The results show that the philosophy of progressivism has had a significant influence on the world of education in Indonesia. This influence ranges from curriculum development to the application of the principles of progressivism philosophy.
