Abstract

Abstract

Since many real-world data sets have skewed class distributions—in which the majority of data instances (examples) belong to one class and considerably fewer instances belong to others—classifying unbalanced data is an important area of research. While minority instances (fraud in banking operations, abnormal cells in medical data, etc.) in many applications actually represent the concept of interest, a classifier induced from an imbalanced data set is more likely to be biassed towards the majority class and show very poor classification accuracy for the minority class. Unbalanced data classification, particularly for multimedia data, continues to be one of the most difficult issues in data mining and machine learning, despite substantial research efforts. In this research, we present an extended deep learning strategy to address this difficulty and get encouraging results in the classification of skewed multimedia data sets. In particular, we examine the combination of advanced empirical research on convolutional neural networks (CNNs), a cutting-edge deep learning technique, and bootstrapping techniques. Given that deep learning techniques, like CNNs, are typically computationally costly, we suggest feeding low-level features to CNNs and demonstrate that this may be done in a way that saves a significant amount of training time while still producing promising results. The experimental findings demonstrate how well our methodology performs in the TRECVID data set when it comes to categorising highly unbalanced data.

Abstract

The Banana Chip and Peel Community Micro Business in Bandung needs help in marketing promotion and financial management despite the high nutritional potential of banana peels. This initiative aims to enhance local micro-businesses marketing strategies and financial practices by empowering community members with the necessary skills and knowledge. Utilizing a community-based research (CBR) method, the project involved focus group discussions, interviews, and marketing training seminars to identify obstacles and promote product innovation. Participants were taught effective marketing techniques and financial accounting practices, including cash flow management and profit-loss reporting. The results demonstrated a significant improvement in business stability and sales performance, with participants adopting diverse product offerings such as cheese and chocolate-flavored chips. Community engagement played a crucial role, ensuring strategies were culturally relevant and fostering a sense of ownership among participants. In conclusion, this initiative successfully applied theoretical frameworks to enhance the economic viability of local micro-businesses. By integrating effective marketing, sound financial management, and community participation, the program empowered entrepreneurs to innovate and sustain their enterprises, ultimately contributing to the region's economic development. Future efforts should build on these principles to support local businesses further.

Abstract

Workload is one of the most frequently complained causes of stress and is the main reason for employees in an organization. While the work environment is everything around workers that can affect them when carrying out and completing the tasks given. This study consists of three variables, namely workload (X1), work environment (X2) and work stress (Y). This study used a sample of 50 employees of PT Plasindo Elok and used data collection methods through observation, questionnaires with a 5-1 scale and documentation studies. The data analysis method used was SPSS version 25, namely data quality testing, classical assumption testing, multiple linear regression analysis, hypothesis testing and determination coefficient testing (R2). The findings of the study stated that partially workload and work environment have a significant effect on work stress and the resulting regression analysis means that workload and work environment simultaneously have a significant effect on work stress.
