Abstract

Abstract

Abstract

The injection molding machine in this research is a vertical injection machine that is capable of processing chopped plastic bottles for drinking water into more useful products. The temperature required for HDPE plastic waste is 300℃ and requires 1035 Watts of power, while PP plastic waste uses a temperature of 164℃ with a power of 957 watts. The melt flow rate for HDPE type waste is 0.58 ?⁄? while for PP type waste it is 0.59?⁄? so there is a difference of 0.1 ?⁄?.

Abstract

The research focused on the effect of lamp variations on the performance of Pelton turbines which include power, torque, generator rotation and turbine rotation, as well as the resulting efficiency. The research used an experimental method that involves the testing of load variations using LED lights with wattages of 3 watt, 5 watt, and 7 watt. The results of the research were presented in the form of graphs, then compared so that the effect of workload variations on Pelton turbines. The tests were conducted and the results showed that the highest turbine rotation of 1917.1 rpm achieved at a load of 7 watts, while the lowest rotation of 1156.9 rpm at a load of 3 watts. While the generator rotation shows the highest rotation of 1858.8 rpm at a load of 7 watts and the lowest 1222 rpm at a load of 3 watts. The generator electrical power reached the highest value of 0.314 watts at 5 watts load, while the highest efficiency of 10.29% was also achieved at 5 watts load. Thus, the greater the workload given, the higher the rotation produced, the voltage decreases, and the greater the power required.

Abstract

Improving the thermal efficiency of biomass cookstoves remains essential for enhancing energy utilization and reducing fuel consumption in household applications. This study investigates the effect of geometric size reduction on the thermal performance of a galvanized steel biomass stove equipped with a 12 V DC blower. The original biomass stove constructed from galvanized steel plates with dimensions of 50 × 50 × 55 cm³ equipped with a 12 V DC blower was developed in 2022. Due to its relatively large size, the air–fuel mixture delivered to the combustion chamber was not fully optimized, resulting in a thermal efficiency of only 10%. To address this limitation, the stove dimensions were reduced to 40 × 40 × 40 cm³. The performance evaluation was conducted using the Water Boiling Test (WBT) method with two water volumes (2 L and 5 L) and three fuel masses (40%, 60%, and 80%). The results indicate that reducing the stove dimensions contributes to a significant improvement in thermal efficiency, reaching up to 14.6%.

Abstract

This Community service program addresses the pressing issue of environmental pollution caused by shrimp processing waste in the coastal area of Beach of Selumit, Tarakan City. The program aims to empower women by transforming this shrimp waste, which poses an ecological threat, into local wisdom-based entrepreneurial products. Conducted in collaboration with BKM Sejahtera as the community partner, the initiative focused on converting shrimp heads and shells into natural powdered fertilizer and shrimp broth powder. Alongside waste processing training, the program enhanced women's financial literacy through a household financial literacy handbook and promoted digital marketing via the "udangcycle.id" social media platform. The participatory, community-based approach involved 30 female participants who showed progress in product creation, simple bookkeeping, and independent product marketing. This initiative not only improved environmental cleanliness but also strengthened women's roles as economic actors, increased household income, and broader economic empowerment in the coastal community.
