Abstract

The purpose of the study was to determine the effect of the length of time setting and hauling purse seine on the caught fish. The object of study is KM. Rising Lautan Jaya 5. The study was conducted from 1 to 4 June 2022 at the PPS Nizam Zachman Ocean Fishing Port in Jakarta. This study adopted a simple linear regression analysis to determine the correlation between setting time and hauling purse seine to caught fish. The results of the analysis in this study showed a relationship between the length of time and hauling of the catch in purse seine capture operations. The results of the normal distributed data test were 0.079 and 0.200, and there was a linear relationship of 0.783 and 0.880 so that the regression test results of 0.004 and 0.001 were found. Thus the results of the regression test can be interpreted to mean that there is an influence between the length of time setting and hauling on the catch

Abstract

In March-July 2022, the research was conducted using the case study method on board the Mekar Baru Putra 3 Motor Ship based at the Nusantara Fishing Port in Pekalongan, Central Java. The aim is to determine the effect of the speed of purse seine net circumference on fish catches at KM Mekar Baru Putra 3 which is based on Pekalongan VAT. Data collection was carried out by survey method following fishing activities conducted by KM Mekar Baru Putra 3. The data collected are primary data in the form of: a) net circumference time, b) number of catches. Data was collected using stopwatches and stationery, then analyzed by regression analysis. In this study, the normality test results showed a significant value of 0.200. The value is greater than 0.05 which means the data is normally distributed. The results of the analysis were then carried out to see the linearity of pulling the wrinkle rope against the catch. From the test results, it is known that the value of Sig. deviation from linearity is 0.022 < 0.05, it is said that there is no linear relationship between the circular time speed and the catch.

Abstract

Berdasarkan alisisis PP, usaha layak untuk dikembangkan karena nilai PP <10 tahun dan berdasarkan NPV usaha dinyatakan layak karena bernilai positif (Rp2.156.002.331).ABSTRACTThe research was carried out in the period March - May 2020, located on a longliner ship, namely the Trans Bahari 3 Motor Ship (KM) which carried out a fishing operation in the Indonesian Fisheries Management Area (WPP-RI) 573, Ocean Fishery Port (PPS) Cilacap, Central Java. This study aims to analyze the feasibility level of longline tuna business in terms of hook rate and financial feasibility. Apart from the survey method on the ship, interviews were also carried out to officers on the ground. The data collected includes the catch of each setting and hauling during one trip. The data also comes from invested investments, depreciation values for vessels and equipment, fixed capital and non-fixed capital, as well as catch and sales value. The results during the study obtained the value of fishing rods from 24 times of setting and hauling an average of 0.54 (<2.00). The result of the financial indicator B / C ratio is 1.12, the Payback Period (PP) value is 5.8 years and the Net Present Value (NPV) is positive. The level of business feasibility in terms of the fishing rate analysis is stated to be not good because the value is below 2.00. Then viewed from the financial analysis the B / C ratio is profitable but very thin because it is close to number 1 towards the break-even point. Based on the PP analysis, the business is feasible to develop because the PP value is <10 years and based on the NPV the business is declared feasible because it is positive (Rp2,156,002,331).

Abstract

The purpose of this study is to determine the feasibility of the tuna handline business on ships based at the Cilacap Ocean Fisheries Port (PPS), Central Java. The financial analysis uses 6 indicators in determining business feasibility, including R/C Ratio, B/C Ratio, Net Present Value (NPV), Internal Rate of Return (IRR), Payback Period (PP), and ROI (Return On Investment). Financial analysis based on 6 financial indicators obtained values including an R/C Ratio of 1.49, Payback Period (PP) for 4 years, Return On Investment (ROI) of 2.4%, Net Present Value (NPV) of IDR 3,738,751,559, B/C Ratio of 3.57 and Internal Rate of Return (IRR) of 48.2%. So that it can be stated that the tuna handline business is financially feasible.

Abstract

The escalating need for animal protein has stimulated the growth of the capture fisheries industry. However, undue carelessness concerning the maintenance and operation of fishing vessels often results in scenarios that pose serious risks, even leading to fatal accidents. In Karawang District, the high spirit of fishermen in setting sail plays a major role in boosting the productivity in the capture fisheries sector. Yet, the awareness of the importance of using personal safety equipment while at sea remains disappointingly low. The Fish Capture Study Program of the Politeknik Kelautan dan Perikanan Karawang set out to organize a training sessions aimed for enhancing the fishermen’s awareness of safety during their voyages. These sessions are a manifestation of the social responsibility in empowering the community and promoting sustainable development. Through presentations, and direct demonstrations, fishermen are instructed on various aspects of safety during their voyage. The training includes techniques for self-preservation at sea, use of the red hand flare, activation of parachute signals, and smoke signals during emergencies, as well as the use of life buoys and life jackets to enhance safety at sea. This community service activity was attended by 20 fishermen residing on the coast of Karawang District. The initiative attempts to strike a balance between the urgency to meet the growing demands for animal protein, and the obligation to promote safe and sustainable practices in the capture fisheries sector.
