Abstract

Improving the quality of learning needs to be improved in an effort to improve the quality of education in Indonesia. Educators, in this case, teachers and lecturers, need to design learning so that the intended competencies can be achieved optimally. In addition, educators must also be able to evaluate themselves in an effort to improve the learning process that has been carried out. The purpose of this study is to describe lesson study in relation to increasing competence in learning. The research method used is a qualitative descriptive method, namely collecting library data from various sources, reading, recording, and processing research materials. The results of the study stated that lesson study as a form of fostering an educator in learning can collaborate with models, methods, strategies, and approaches and can be used as a benchmark for the learning process that has been carried out. Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis kemampuan pemecahan matematis siswa di salah satu Madrasah tsanawiyyah di kabupaten Banyuwangi. Jenis penelitian yang dilakukan adalah penelitian kualitatif deskriptif. Pengumpulan data menggunakan teknik tes dan dokumentasi. Instrumen utama penelitian ini adalah diri sendiri, sedangkan instrumen pendukung berupa tes yang digunakan adalah 5 butir uraian tentang kemampuan pemecahan masalah dan wawancara. Teknik analisis data yang digunakan meliputi reduksi data, penyajian data dan penarikan kesimpulan. Subyek dalam penelitian ini adalah 22 siswa kelas VIII. Hasil penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa kualifikasi kemampuan pemecahan masalah matematis diperoleh nilai rata-rata sebesar 82,73 dengan kategori baik. Adapun kualifikasi kemampuan pemecahan masalah matematis yaitu sebanyak 27,27 % siswa kategori sangat baik, sebanyak 18,18 % kategori baik, sebanyak 27,27% siswa mencapai kategori cukup dan sebanyak 27,27% siswa kategori kurang. Berdasarkan pencapaian tiap indikator kemampuan pemecahan masalah matematis siswa diperoleh sebanyak 90,90 % siswa mampu memahami masalah, sebanyak 86,40 % siswa mampu menyusun rencana penyelesaian, sebanyak 72,72% siswa mampu melaksanakan rencana penyelesaian, serta sebanyak 72,72% siswa mampu memeriksa kembali. Tantangan dari pemecahan masalah yaitu siswa terlatih memahami soal yang belum pernah dijumpainya sebelumnya dan siswa mempunyai ketrampilan menghasilkan informasi yang sesuai dengan permasalahan tersebut. Sedangkan manfaat dari pengalaman memecahkan masalah, antara lain adalah siswa menjadi (1) kreatif dalam berfikir; (2) kritis dalam menganalisa data, fakta dan informasi; (3) mandiri dalam bertindak dan bekerja”.

Abstract

Penelitian ini dilakukan di Universitas KH. Mukhtar Syafaat Blokagung bertujuan untuk mengetahui tingkat motivasi belajar mahasiswa manajemen pendidikan Islam pada mata kuliah statistika tahun pelajaran 2023/2024 dan mengetahui motivasi belajar mahasiswa pada setiap angka indikator. Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian deskriptif dengan pendekatan kualitatif. Teknik pengumpulan data yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah angket dan wawancara. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan tingkat motivasi belajar mahasiswa manajemen pendidikan Islam semester 5 di Universitas KH. Mukhtar Syafaat Blokagung Banyuwangi tahun akademik 2023/2024 pada mata kuliah statistika tergolong sedang. Persentase motivasi belajar siswa menurut masing-masing indikator termasuk dalam kategori cukup.

Abstract

This article aims to describe the process and results of community service activities that seek to increase the knowledge and skills of Tadris Mathematics Uimsya students and the Sukorejo Village head election committee in processing statistical data with SPSS software. Service activities are carried out for 1 (one) month. The stages in service include observation, planning, implementation and evaluation. This service activity was proven to produce statistical data for an average of 1115 people, a median of 1204 people, while the standard deviation was 755,938. From the results of the standard deviation analysis, it was concluded that there was a lack of significant competition between candidates as evidenced by the large standard deviation produced. From the implementation of this service, it is known that the service went smoothly as planned. However, several things still need to be designed better in carrying out similar activities, including the techniques and methods used in the mentoring process.

Abstract

Efforts to improve the quality of mathematics learning certainly need to involve and prepare students as prospective mathematics teachers. In addition to competent mastery of material, prospective teacher students must be equipped with the ability to provide interactive mathematics learning between teachers and students through technological advances. The aim of this research is to analyze the responses of prospective mathematics teachers to the use of GeoGebra as a mathematics learning medium. This research uses descriptive quantitative methods. The subjects of this research were prospective teacher students taking the Introduction to Computer Science course. Of the 20 prospective teacher students who were given a questionnaire, 3 were then randomly selected for in-depth interviews. The research results show that more than 95% of prospective teacher students realize that GeoGebra can be a solution or tool in visualizing mathematical concepts. Starting from basic mathematics concepts to upper intermediate level can be visualized with GeoGebra. So that students will more easily understand mathematical concepts and can improve the mathematics learning process through interactive media assisted by GeoGebra.

Abstract

This article aims to describe the process and results of observation activities for Al Aziziyah dormitory residents who seek to improve the knowledge and skills of Tadris Mathematics Uimsya students and Al Aziziyah dormitory administrators in processing statistical data manually. Observation activities were carried out for 1 (one) month. The stages in observation include observation, planning, implementation and evaluation. This observation activity was proven to produce statistical data with an average of 88 people. From the implementation of this observation, it is known that the observation went smoothly according to plan. However, there are several things that still need to be better designed in carrying out similar activities, including the techniques and methods used in the mentoring process

Abstract

Statistika memiliki peran penting dalam berbagai aspek kehidupan, termasuk dalam konteks pondok pesantren. Fungsi utama statistika mencakup penyediaan data untuk diolah dan diinterpretasikan, alat quality control untuk standardisasi dan pengawasan, metode analisis data, serta pemecahan masalah dan pembuatan keputusan yang mendukung kebijakan dan strategi pengembangan organisasi. Di pondok pesantren, statistika berperan sebagai alat bantu untuk mengolah dan menganalisis data kuantitatif. Data statistika yang dianalisis mencakup informasi seperti kependudukan, keaktifan santri, pelanggaran, sakit, kos makan, dan buku bendahara. Statistika juga mempermudah pengelolaan usaha pondok pesantren, termasuk dalam mengetahui siklus keuangan, laba, kebutuhan santri, dan masalah terkait transaksi cashless. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode studi kasus. Peneliti mengambil sampel dari pondok pesantren Darussalam Blokagung. Hasil dari penelitian ini adalah bahwa statistika sangat diperlukan sekali bagi berlangsungnya pondok pesantren dalam semua hal. Secara keseluruhan, statistika berperan krusial dalam meningkatkan efisiensi, akurasi, dan kontrol dalam berbagai aktivitas pondok pesantren, baik dalam evaluasi program maupun pengelolaan usaha.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the validity and reliability of an algebra test instrument designed for middle school students. The background of this research lies in the importance of mathematics education, particularly algebra, which serves as a foundation for other branches of mathematics. Based on the 2021 PISA data, the learning outcomes in mathematics, especially algebra, in Indonesia remain weak. Therefore, valid and reliable evaluation instruments are essential to accurately measure students' competencies. This study employs a quantitative descriptive approach with a purposive sampling of 15 ninth-grade students from MTs Al Amiriyyah. The instrument, consisting of algebra essay tests, was tested for validity using the Pearson Product Moment method and for reliability using the Cronbach's Alpha method. The results indicate that out of 10 test items, 9 items (90%) were declared valid with r_calculated > r_table (0.4409), while 1 item (10%) was invalid. The Cronbach's Alpha value of 0.924, which is greater than 0.60, indicates a very high level of reliability. According to Guilford's category, the instrument demonstrates high credibility as an evaluation tool. These findings suggest that the algebra test instrument is reliable for measuring students' competencies and provides empirical contributions to improving the quality of algebra learning evaluations. Abstract

This study aims to evaluate the effectiveness of visual media in enhancing students' understanding of abstract concepts in mathematics learning. The research method used was experimental. The study sample consisted of 35 eighth-grade students from MTs Al Amiriyyah Banyuwangi, selected using random sampling techniques. Visual media were utilized as the independent variable, while students' understanding was the dependent variable. Data analysis results indicate that visual media have a significant impact on students' understanding, with a correlation value of r = 0.569, signifying a strong positive relationship. The coefficient of determination of 32.4% suggests that visual media contribute substantially to improving students' comprehension. Simple linear regression analysis revealed that visual media significantly affects students' understanding (significance value = 0.000 < 0.05). This study concludes that the effective use of visual media can enhance students' understanding of mathematics learning. Keywords: visual media, student understanding
