Abstract

The Sawit Jaya Village Unit Cooperative (KUD) in Tapung District, Kampar Regency, Riau still uses a manual cashier system in the sales transaction process, which is time-consuming and labor-intensive. Therefore, innovation is needed by building an electronic cashier system that can improve the performance of the Sawit Jaya KUD business. The aim of this community service is to improve the effectiveness and efficiency of the sales transaction process of the Sawit Jaya KUD by implementing an electronic cashier system. The methods used in this community service include discussions, data collection, system design, system development, system implementation, training, and report writing. The results of this community service show that the electronic cashier system has successfully improved the performance of the Sawit Jaya KUD business and can help in producing more accurate and efficient sales reports. Thus, the implementation of an electronic cashier system can be a solution to improve the business performance of the Sawit Jaya KUD.

Abstract

Peningkatan jumlah penduduk juga meningkatkan kebutuhan konsumsi air bersih yang umumnya diperoleh dari air tanah seperti sumur. Namun, daerah lahan gambut memiliki air dengan kualitas yang tidak memenuhi standar baku mutu, ditandai dengan air yang berwarna dan berbau, seperti di SMKN 1 UKUI, Kabupaten Pelalawan, Provinsi Riau. Salah satu upaya yang dapat dilakukan adalah dengan pemanfaatan karbon aktif dari biomassa sebagai media filter air. Kegiatan pengabdian kepada masyarakat (PkM) ini diselenggarakan untuk meningkatkan kompetensi siswa SMKN 1 dalam penyediaan air bersih secara mandiri. Kegiatan PkM dilaksanakan dalam bentuk pelatihan/workshop yang terbagi atas dua sesi, yaitu penyampaian materi dan praktik perakitan filter air sederhana. Hasil kegiatan menunjukkan bahwa peserta mampu merakit alat filter air sederhana dan melakukan uji filtrasi air, serta mampu membuat analisis dasar kualitas air sebelum dan sesudah filtrasi, yaitu warna dan bau. Umpan balik kegiatan menunjukkan tingkat kepuasan sebesar 97,1%. Keseluruhan kegiatan PkM telah berhasil dilaksanakan dengan tingkat kepuasan mitra yang tinggi.

Abstract

Desa Rimbo Panjang yang sebagian besar merupakan tanah gambut menyebabkan air tanah di daerah tersebut adalah air gambut. Karakteristik utama air gambut bisa dilihat dari warnanya yang merah kecoklatan serta pHnya yang bersifat asam sehingga air gambut tidak dijadikan sebagai sumber air minum. Masyarakat Desa Rimbo Panjang menggunakan air gambut untuk aktivitas sehari-hari seperti mandi dan mencuci tanpa diolah terlebih dahulu. Oleh karena itu, dilakukan penelitian untuk melihat karakteristik air gambut berdasarkan parameter warna, bau, pH, TSS, TDS dan dibandingkan dengan Permenkes No. 32 Tahun 2017 tentang Standar Baku Mutu Kesehatan Lingkungan dan Persyaratan Kesehatan Air untuk Keperluan Hygiene Sanitasi, Kolam Renang, Solus per Aqua dan Pemandian Umum. Hasil analisis menunjukkan nilai parameter warna, bau dan pH di luar ambang batas Permenkes No.32 Tahun 2017 sedangkan kekeruhan dan TDS masih dalam standar baku mutu. Berdasarkan hasil analisis terhadap air gambut Rimbo Panjang dan perbandingan dengan Permenkes No.32 Tahun 2017, maka air gambut Rimbo Panjang tidak layak sebagai air untuk keperluan sanitasi.

Abstract

Vermikompos merupakan pupuk organik dari perombakan bahan-bahan organik dengan bantuan mikroorganisme dan cacing tanah. Penelitian tentang pemanfaatan vermikompos limbah sawi sebagai media tumbuh bibit kelapa sawit (Elaeis guineensis Jacq.) di pre nursery, dilakukan di Desa Cileduk, Kecamatan Setu, Kabupaten Bekasi, Provinsi Jawa Barat. Penelitian ini dilakukan untuk mendapatkan media tumbuh alternatif yang dapat merangsang pertumbuhan bibit kelapa sawit. Metode yang digunakan pada percobaan ini Rancangan Acak Lengkap (RAL) satu faktorial yang terdiri dari 3 perlakuan. Masing-masing perlakuan dibuat sebanyak 3 sampel dan 4 kali pengulangan, sehingga jumlah seluruhnya 36 bibit. Percobaan yang diberikan adalah sebagai berikut : P1 (vermikompos 100%), P3 (top soil 100%) dan P2 (vermikompos 50% : top soil 50%). Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa vermikompos sawi pada perlakuan P1 (vermikompos 100%) menunjukkan perbedaan secara nyata terhadap tinggi tanaman, diameter batang dan jumlah daun. Karena media tumbuh vermikompos sawi mengandung unsur hara 0.27% N, 0.047% P dan 5.74% K.

Abstract

Komposit adalah bahan yang dihasilkan dari gabungan dua atau lebih bahan dasar yang disusun sehingga mendapatkan bahan baku yang baru. Pelepah kelapa sawit memiliki potensi yang sangat baik untuk dimanfaatkan sebagai pengganti kayu dalam pembuatan papan komposit. Resin Polyester BQTN-157 merupakan jenis resin thermoset atau lebih sering disebut polyester. Resin Polyester BQTN-157 berupa resin cair dengan viskositas yang cukup rendah, mengeras pada suhu kamar dengan penggunaan katalis tanpa menghasilkan gas sewaktu pencetakan. Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui proses pembuatan papan komposit berbahan baku serat pelepah kelapa sawit, mengetahui komposisi dan bahan terbaik dalam pembuatan papan komposit berbahan baku serta pelepah kelapa sawit sesuai standar SNI 03-2105-2006 serta untuk mengetahui karakteristik pembuatan papan komposit berbahan baku serta pelepah kelapa sawit sesuai standar SNI 03-2105-2006. Metode penelitian terdiri dari tiga tahapan yaitu persiapan bahan baku, pembuatan papan komposit dan uji karakteristik papan komposit. Pelakuan pada penelitian ini yaitu pembuatan bahan baku dengan campuran serat pelepah dan resin dengan variasi 1:2 (P1), 1:2,5 (P2), 1:3 (P3), 1:3,5 (P4), 1:4 (P5). Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa papan komposit kualitas terbaik terdapat pada perlakuan 1:3 (P3) dengan penilaian karakteristik kadar air sebesar 0,5 %, uji bending sebesar 112,16 kg/cm2, dan uji tarik sebesar 40,78 kg/cm2 sesuai dengan standar SNI 03-2105-2006.ANALYSIS OF COMPOSITE BOARD CHARACTERISTICS FROM PALM OIL FRONDSA composite is a material obtained from a combination of two or more basic materials that are assembled so as to obtain a new raw material. Palm oil fronds have excellent potential to be used as a replacement for wood in composite board manufacturing. The BQTN-157 polyester resin is a type of thermoset resin, or more commonly called a polyester. It is a liquid resin with a relatively low viscosity, hardening at room temperature with the use of catalysts without generating gasses during printing. The underlying issue of this research is to find out the composite board manufacturing and characteristics of composite boards made from palm oil fronds released according to SNI 03-2105-2006. The research methodology includes preparation of raw materials, manufacture of composite boards, and characteristic testing of composites. The method of this study consists in making raw materials with a mixture of fiber and resin with a variation of 1:2 (P1), 1:2,5 (P2), 1:3 (P3), 1:3,5 (P4), and 1:4 (P5). The results of the study show that the best quality composite board is found at treatment 1:3 (P3) with a water content characteristic assessment of 0.5%, a bending test of 112.16 kg/cm2, and a pull test of 40.78 kg/cm2 according to SNI standard 03-2105-2006.

Abstract

Sawah Village is one of the villages in North Kampar District, Kampar Regency, Riau. Most of the village community's occupations are farmers and housewives. Based on the results of interviews, there is household waste that is wasted and there is a lack of knowledge about the use of household waste. Therefore, there is a need for information through guidance in training for the community regarding the use of waste in their environment. This service activity aims to guide and train the community in utilizing household waste, especially egg shells and shallot skins. This activity hopes that the community will be able to make organic fertilizer independently by utilizing household waste in the form of egg shells and onion skins and can be applied to plants cultivated at home. Apart from that, organic fertilizer increases innovation, creativity and economic value for the community, especially representatives of PKK women from Sawah Village, Air Tiris, Kampar.

Abstract

Public knowledge about health, the dangers of pesticides, environmentally friendly issues, make hydroponic vegetables are starting to be in deman. The increase in consumption of hydroponic vegetables provides a great opportunity for hydroponic vegetable businesses. The hydroponic system has many advantages compared to conventional systems,like environmentally friendly, hygienic and healthy products, faster plant growth, the quality of plant yields can be maintained and the quantity can be increased. The Community Service Team (PKM) has conducted a field survey and communication with the Salo Village regarding the problems they face. An agreement has been reached and a PKM program has been approved in the form of guidance and training on the hydroponic agricultural technology system on a household scale in Salo Village, Salo District, Kampar Regency, Riau. The extension material includes what is hydroponic cultivation, the importance of hydroponic cultivation for improving the family economy and various hydroponic media from simple materials. The team presents a 9-hole hydroponic system, hydroponics, seeds and plant nutrients. The vegetable seeds given are lettuce. The reason for choosing lettuce is because lettuce has high economic value, is more resistant to pests, has many types of variants, and is good for health. The condition of the residents of Salo Village has great potential for empowerment. The active participation of the residents of Salo Village to participate in counseling and hydroponic planting practices shows that the enthusiasm of the residents is very high. The activeness shown by participating in direct practice shows that there is additional knowledge and understanding of residents about hydroponics. This community service activity went succesfully and was achieved according to plan. Kata Kunci: Hidroponik, selada, penyuluhan

Abstract

Residents of Dusun IV Muara Jalai Village are currently experiencing problems related to waste, because a lot of household rubbish has been found dumped on the side of the road, in ditches, in the bushes and even in tributaries in the area. This situation certainly disrupts the cleanliness of the environment. Regarding these residents' problems, it is necessary to provide education to residents regarding household waste management. For this reason, the Kampar Polytechnic community service team (PKM) has provided education to residents regarding managing their household waste, namely by applying the 3R principle (Reduce, Re-Use and Recycle). There are many ways to apply the reduce principle in household waste management, such as bringing a shopping basket and plastic bag from home when shopping at the market, bringing a tumbler/drinking bottle when traveling and no longer using single-use products. Meanwhile, the principle of re-use can be applied, such as reusing used cans, used bottles to be reused later for other purposes, so they don't need to be thrown into the environment. The principle of recycling can be done by using used plastic bottles or used paper to make flowers, thus adding to the beauty of the house. Apart from that, make compost from household organic waste, such as onion skins, potato skins, vegetables, egg shells. The resulting compost can be used to fertilize home plants, such as flowers and vegetables. By applying the principles 3R in managing household waste, the amount of household waste will decrease further.
