Abstract

Logging of rubber trees is increasingly being carried out by rubber farmers in Muara Jalai Village. In fact, rubber plantations are one of the sources of community livelihoods that have long been practiced by some people. Seeing the rampant phenomenon of cutting down rubber trees in Muara Jalai Village, an in- depth study was conducted on the behavior of these ex-rubber farmers, to see how much influence the factors of rubber income, rubber maintenance and rubber sap production have on the decision to cut down rubber trees. For this reason, a questionnaire was distributed to ex-rubber farmers and a validity test was carried out on the questionnaire, the results showed that all statements from the questionnaire were valid to be used as a questionnaire. After the validity test, then proceed with the t test. The t test results show that the value of tcount> ttable for the three independent variables. It can be concluded that the independent variables of rubber income, rubber maintenance and rubber sap production affect the decision of rubber farmers to cut down rubber trees. In addition, the F test was also conducted. The results of the F test show the value of Fcount> Ftable. It can be concluded that the three independent variables all affect the decision of rubber farmers in cutting down rubber trees.

Abstract

Public knowledge about health, the dangers of pesticides, environmentally friendly issues, make hydroponic vegetables are starting to be in deman. The increase in consumption of hydroponic vegetables provides a great opportunity for hydroponic vegetable businesses. The hydroponic system has many advantages compared to conventional systems, like environmentally friendly, hygienic and healthy products, faster plant growth, the quality of plant yields can be maintained and the quantity can be increased. The Community Service Team (PKM) has conducted a field survey and communication with the Salo Village regarding the problems they face. An agreement has been reached and a PKM program has been approved in the form of guidance and training on the hydroponic agricultural technology system on a household scale in Salo Village, Salo District, Kampar Regency, Riau. The extension material includes what is hydroponic cultivation, the importance of hydroponic cultivation for improving the family economy and various hydroponic media from simple materials. The team presents a 9-hole hydroponic system, hydroponics, seeds and plant nutrients. The vegetable seeds given are lettuce. The reason for choosing lettuce is because lettuce has high economic value, is more resistant to pests, has many types of variants, and is good for health. The condition of the residents of Salo Village has great potential for empowerment. The active participation of the residents of Salo Village to participate in counseling and hydroponic planting practices shows that the enthusiasm of the residents is very high. The activeness shown by participating in direct practice shows that there is additional knowledge and understanding of residents about hydroponics. This community service activity went succesfully and was achieved according to plan. Kata Kunci: Hidroponik, selada, penyuluhan

Abstract

Residents of Dusun IV Muara Jalai Village are currently experiencing problems related to waste, because a lot of household rubbish has been found dumped on the side of the road, in ditches, in the bushes and even in tributaries in the area. This situation certainly disrupts the cleanliness of the environment. Regarding these residents' problems, it is necessary to provide education to residents regarding household waste management. For this reason, the Kampar Polytechnic community service team (PKM) has provided education to residents regarding managing their household waste, namely by applying the 3R principle (Reduce, Re-Use and Recycle). There are many ways to apply the reduce principle in household waste management, such as bringing a shopping basket and plastic bag from home when shopping at the market, bringing a tumbler/drinking bottle when traveling and no longer using single-use products. Meanwhile, the principle of re-use can be applied, such as reusing used cans, used bottles to be reused later for other purposes, so they don't need to be thrown into the environment. The principle of recycling can be done by using used plastic bottles or used paper to make flowers, thus adding to the beauty of the house. Apart from that, make compost from household organic waste, such as onion skins, potato skins, vegetables, egg shells. The resulting compost can be used to fertilize home plants, such as flowers and vegetables. By applying the principles 3R in managing household waste, the amount of household waste will decrease further.

Abstract

The Smallholder Oil Palm Replanting Program (PSR) is a key initiative to improve the productivity of Indonesia’s smallholder plantations. However, the replanting process increases the risk of pest attacks, particularly from rhinoceros beetles (Oryctes rhinoceros), which can damage the shoot apex, inhibit plant growth, and even cause the death of young oil palm trees. This community service activity was carried out in Bandur Picak Village, Koto Kampar Hulu Subdistrict, with the aim of educating and training farmers on Integrated Pest Management (IPM) strategies to control rhinoceros beetles. The methods included educational sessions, technical training, and field demonstrations on the use of pheromone traps, the application of the entomopathogenic fungus Metarhizium anisopliae, and the management of organic waste. The results showed that 85% of participants improved their understanding of pest biology and control techniques and expressed readiness to implement IPM practices in their fields. This activity effectively enhanced farmers’ capacity in environmentally friendly pest control and supported the success of oil palm replanting. Strengthening local capacities through participatory approaches is essential to achieving sustainable plantation management in rural areas.

Abstract

The availability of clean water in the area of Dusun V Kampung Baru is very minimal. On average, the quality of well water in residents is yellowish, muddy and oily. To solve this problem, residents of Dusun V Kampung Baru received assistance from the PAMSIMAS clean water program from the government. Clean water facilities have been built and water has been distributed to homes in need. Therefore, an evaluation is needed in the implementation of this program, to determine the achievement of the objectives of this program. The evaluation indicators are seen from the aspects of the effectiveness and efficiency of the implementation of the PAMSIMAS program. This study uses descriptive qualitative data analysis, based on the results of observations and interviews with PAMSIMAS water customers. When viewed from the effectiveness indicator, the clean water program is quite effective for residents of Dusun V Kampugn Baru, because the program's objectives have been achieved, namely clean water has been obtained and has been distributed to residents' homes. Likewise, from the efficiency indicator, the implementation of the PAMSIMAS program is running efficiently. This is assessed from the construction of clean water facilities that are in accordance with the plan by utilizing existing human resources and optimizing available funds. With the evaluation of the PAMSIMAS clean water program, we can measure the achievement of the PAMSIMAS program objectives and also provide a picture of the implementation of PAMSIMAS in Dusun V Kampung Baru to date

Abstract

The productivity of oil palm plants is influenced by environmental factors, namely climate, which plays an important role, so a study was carried out regarding the impact of climate change on oil palm productivity. This research is to produce palm oil productivity based on rainfall and temperature data. The research method uses correlation analysis and multiple regression. Correlation analysis functions to determine the relationship between air deficit and palm oil FFB productivity in accordance with the research data obtained and to determine the direction of the relationship that occurs. This data was analyzed using descriptive statistical methods and analyzed using multiple regression. From the research results it was concluded that: 1). Climate change (temperature) has a low relationship to palm oil productivity. Temperature does not have a significant effect on oil palm productivity. 2). The rainfall variable is 0.010 > probability 0.05, so it can be concluded that rainfall has a low relationship to Palm Oil Productivity, meaning that there is a significant influence between rainfall (X2) on Productivity (Y).
