Abstract

This study aims to discuss the art of rhetoric training for students. This study used a qualitative approach through literature and field studies using interview techniques. Aristotle's rhetorical theory becomes the formal object of this study. While rhetorical training is the material object. The scope and context of this research is the Unit “Kegiatan Mahasiswa” (UKM) “Lembaga Dakwah Mahasiswa” (LDM) “Universitas Islam Negeri” (UIN) Sunan Gunung Djati Bandung. The results of the research and discussion show that the art of rhetoric in Aristotle's philosophical thought is the ability to find tools of persuasion, namely the speaker's personal character, placing the audience into a certain frame of mind, and proof that comes from the content of the speech. In this regard, the training of student Da'i cadres has attempted to develop tools of persuasion, namely: 1) Student Da'i cadres are trained to have the character of militancy as a sacrifice for Islamic da'wah; 2) Da'wah narratives are not only centered on journalistic segmentation, but are developed into creator content so that it is easily accepted in the minds of today's society; and 3) Da'i cadre students are directed to hold fast to the Al-Qur'an and As-Sunnah so that their attitudes and behavior become uswah as a reflection of an Islamic campus. This study concludes that Aristotle's art of rhetoric in finding means of persuasion has been tried to be developed in the cadre of student preachers at UKM LDM UIN Sunan Gunung Djati Bandung.

Abstract

This study aims to discuss the significance of transcendental-criticism in Immanuel Kant's philosophy as a case study of modern philosophy. This study uses a qualitative approach by applying descriptive methods. Immanuel Kant's theory of transcendental criticism is positioned as a formal object, while its material object is modern philosophical thought. The results and discussion in this study indicate that Immanuel Kant, through his thoughts on transcendental criticism, has tried to bridge the empiricism-rationalism flow in the case of modern Western philosophy. This study concludes that the significance of the transcendental-criticism meaning of Immanuel Kant's philosophy to test the ability of reason and determine its limits is an offer of ideas to overcome the conflict between rationalism and empiricism in the world of modern Western philosophy.

Abstract

This study aims to discuss the synergy of positivism in Auguste Comte's philosophy for the advancement of Indonesian society. This study uses a qualitative approach by applying descriptive methods. Auguste Comte's theory of positivism is positioned as a formal object, while the material object is the progress of Indonesian society. The results and discussion in this study show that Auguste Comte, through his thoughts on the progress of society, is contained in his positivism flow in the synergy of three stages, namely the theological, metaphysical, and peak stages of positivism, this is relevant as a reference for Indonesian society, especially by implementing the positivism stage. , so that society does not stagnate at the theological and metaphysical stages alone. This study concludes that Auguste Comte's philosophical positivism school is relevant for developing Indonesian people's thinking so that synergy does not stop at the theological and metaphysical stages, as a reference for the progress of Indonesian society.

Abstract

This study aims to examine the philosophy and theology perspectives of Thomas Aquinas and Al-Kindi to strengthen religious education in Indonesia. This study uses a qualitative approach by applying descriptive methods. The formal object of this research is philosophy and theology in the view of Thomas Aquinas and Al-Kindi. While the material object is religious education in the Indonesian context. The results and discussion in this study show that Thomas Aquinas, a Western figure, and Al-Kindi, an Eastern figure, have the same views in the correlation of philosophy and religion. First, all creation is the result of the most important nature and nothing comes first from Allah SWT. Second, regarding the nature of the main cause is something that has no beginning and no ending, namely Allah SWT. This research concludes that Thomas Aquinas and Al-Kindi's thoughts on philosophy and religion and the correlation between the two can be realized and developed to strengthen education in Indonesia. This research has limitations without conducting field studies, so this is an opportunity for further research for empirical studies, then this research recommends to future researchers to conduct a more in-depth analysis to study religious education in Indonesia.
