Abstract

This study aims to comprehensively analyze and determine the priority strategies for poverty alleviation in Banjarmasin City, with a specific focus on cultural poverty, which remains the most dominant and deeply rooted form of poverty in the community. The research method combines Strengths, Weaknesses, Opportunities, Threats (SWOT) analysis and the Analytical Hierarchy Process (AHP). The SWOT approach is employed to identify various internal and external factors influencing the effectiveness of poverty alleviation programs, as well as to formulate relevant and applicable strategic alternatives. Meanwhile, the AHP method is utilized to determine the priority order of these strategies based on expert assessments and stakeholder evaluations who possess expertise in social and economic development. The data were collected through in-depth interviews with seven key informants actively involved in the planning, implementation, and evaluation of poverty alleviation programs in Banjarmasin City. The findings indicate that the priority strategies that need to be developed include strengthening community empowerment institutions, improving human resource capacity, and enhancing the poverty data system to ensure validity, accuracy, and inter-agency integration. Policy recommendations emphasize the importance of cross-sectoral synergy, collaboration among development actors, and the implementation of evidence-based policies to ensure that poverty alleviation efforts are more effective, sustainable, and have a tangible impact on society.

Abstract

This study examines the cultural geography of the Dayak Hampang community in the Meratus Mountains by integrating spatial, environmental, and political-economic perspectives. It employs a quasi-qualitative approach supported by survey methods and descriptive analysis to operationalize a cultural geography framework. Qualitative data on cultural values, indigenous knowledge, and settlement toponymy were collected through in-depth interviews. Settlement patterns were analyzed using Nearest Neighbour Analysis, GIS, field surveys, and documentation. The findings reveal that clustered toponymy and settlement patterns reflect a strong socio-spatial attachment to rivers, forests, and cultivated land, forming an integrated cultural landscape rooted in customary institutions. Shifting cultivation and ritual practices function as adaptive socio-ecological strategies that sustain livelihoods and conserve the mountainous environment despite pressures associated with protected forest designation. The study demonstrates that socio-ecological resilience increases when customary governance is formally recognized by reclassifying protected forests as customary forests (hutan adat). Conversely, restrictive state forest regimes that limit community Access, Assets, and Activities (3A) weaken adaptive capacity and heighten ecological vulnerability. Accordingly, the Sustainable Cultural Geography (SCG) model is expressed as: SCG = f (Ecological Resilience, Customary Forest Tenure, 3A Capacity), positioning cultural landscape sustainability as a function of these interrelated components.

Abstract

This study employs a qualitative research approach to explore the social construction of participation by the Dayak Deah indigenous community in the oversight of village fund management in Pengelak Village, Upau Sub-District, Tabalong Regency. Data were collected through participant observation, in-depth interviews, and focus group discussions with key informants. The findings reveal that participation by the Dayak Deah community is deeply rooted in cultural values and local identity, reflecting a strong sense of collective responsibility for environmental stewardship and community development. Traditional practices such as gotong royong (cooperation) are central in shaping their involvement. Participation is influenced by three interrelated dimensions: cultural and communal values, which reflect indigenous norms and shared heritage; social and institutional structures, particularly the role of traditional leadership and customary institutions; and communication and knowledge systems, including interaction patterns, access to information, and levels of education. Additionally, historical experiences with governance, development interventions, and resource management shape the community’s trust in participatory mechanisms. In conclusion, the Dayak Deah indigenous community's participation in village fund supervision results from a complex interplay of cultural traditions, institutional arrangements, communication practices, educational factors, and historical context. Understanding these socially constructed dimensions is essential for developing inclusive and sustainable strategies to strengthen community-based governance.

Abstract

Regional economic growth is closely related to fiscal capacity and investment performance. This study aims to examine the effect of Local Tax Revenue, Domestic Investment, and Foreign Investment on Gross Regional Domestic Product (GRDP) in Central Kalimantan. This research employs a quantitative approach using time-series data from 1993 to 2023 obtained from the central bureau of statistics. The analytical method applied is multiple linear regression with a logarithmic transformation. The result indicates that local tax revenue, domestic investment, and foreign investment significantly affect GRDP. Partially, local tax revenue and foreign investment are crucial in promoting regional economic growth. Therefore, local government is expected to strengthen fiscal policies and create a conducive investment climate to support sustainable economic development.

Abstract

Gosong Panjang Village has outstanding potential to become a tourism village that prioritizes coastal landscapes, small islands, and local traditions. However, this development still faces institutional challenges, limited access, and a lack of basic infrastructure. The purpose of this community service program is to evaluate the cultural and natural attributes of the landscape, assess its suitability for tourism, and develop a spatial planning-based institutional strengthening plan. The method used is a field survey documented through observation, interviews, and the Village Development Plan (RPJMDes). Land suitability analysis uses scoring for seven tourism activities. The results show that the land suitability ranges from moderate to good, with beach recreation receiving the highest score. The Undulating Plain and the Coast are considered to have the best potential for land-based tourism. In the institutional strengthening strategy, funds are allocated through Pokdarwis and RPJMDes to improve road access and provide basic facilities in priority zones to support safe and sustainable village tourism development.

Abstract

This study is novel in its holistic approach to the influence of dynamic capability competency and innovation performance on the sustainable competitive advantage of MSMEs in Papua. This focus fills the gap in the literature that tends to ignore the local context of Papua, especially regarding the adaptation of MSMEs to limitations in infrastructure, technology, and market access. By prioritizing the dimensions of economic, social, and environmental sustainability, this study not only provides academic contributions but also practical recommendations for the long-term development of MSMEs. This study uses a quantitative approach with a survey design. A total of 200 MSME actors were selected through purposive sampling, with the criteria of having implemented technology in their marketing strategies. Primary data were collected through questionnaires, while secondary data came from annual reports and government publications. The main variables—dynamic capability competency, innovation performance, and sustainable competitive advantage—were measured using a Likert scale. The analysis was conducted using path analysis with SPSS and AMOS. The results show that marketing and R&D competencies have a positive influence on innovation performance, which in turn increases sustainable competitive advantage. Innovation performance acts as a mediator in this relationship. The relationship found is unidirectional, emphasizing that competency drives performance, not the other way around. The practical implications of these findings indicate the importance of MSME investment in strengthening internal competencies, especially in marketing and R&D, to create sustainable innovation and strengthen competitive positions amidst Papua's unique limitations.

Abstract

This study aims to analyse the achievement of inclusive growth, inclusive green growth, and balanced inclusive green growth in 11 districts and 2 cities in South Kalimantan province in 2024. Based on the inclusive growth index analysis that has been carried out, it shows that 9 regions are classified as satisfactory; the remaining 4 districts are classified as unsatisfactory because the IGI score is below 4 points. Seen from the IGGI analysis, it shows that the average existing region has a low and very low score, which indicates that growth is not yet inclusive from the social, economic, and environmental dimensions. However, the BIGGI calculation shows an increase in scores, although not optimal. Quadrant 1 includes only 4 regions in the quadrant analysis. This means that 9 regions experience inequality in inclusive green growth. The results of the analysis can be used as a reference for local governments in improving the quality of economic growth by paying attention to improvements in macroeconomic indicators and improving the quality of human development.
